MH SET Notification 2025: How to apply?

MH SET 2025 application form will be released by the SPPU tentatively in January 2025. Before filling the MH SET application form, candidates must go through the MH SET eligibility criteria. In order to fill the form, candidates need to make a fee payment. The application fee is INR 800 for the General category and INR 650 for OBC/ SBC/ DT(A)/ NT(B)/ NT(C)/ NT(D)/ SEBC (Non Creamy Layer Category Only)/ Open (EWS)/SC/ST/PH/VH/ Transgenders/ Orphan category. Post the final submission of the form, candidates should save a copy of its confirmation page.

MH SET Exam Pattern 2025

The MH SET 2025 exam will be conducted in two separate sessions for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all the candidates and comprises 50 objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to test candidates’ reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. Paper 2 is conducted in 32 different subjects and contains 100 MCQs. In both the papers, each question carries 2 marks. MH SET Paper is of 1-hour duration and Paper 2 is of 2 hours duration. There is no negative marking in the exam for wrong answers.

MH SET Syllabus 2025

The State Eligibility Test for Maharashtra & Goa states will be held on the basis of the latest UGC NET syllabus, except for the Life Science, Physical Science, Chemical Science, Mathematical Science, Earth, Atmospheric and Ocean & Planetary Science subjects. The syllabus of these subjects will be the same as before. In these subjects, the Paper 2 and 3 syllabi will form the Paper 2 syllabus.

Q:   What is the criteria for becoming a government lecturer after cracking MH SET exam?

A:

Eligibility to be a Lecturer:

  1. Educational Qualification To be eligible to be a lecturer one should hold at least a Master Degree in any of the relevant subject with at least 55% marks in it. Higher qualifications are always preferred.
  2. Interested candidate has to appear in MH SET exam which is held twice a year and pass it.This is the only hurdle to be cleared to be eligible to get a job as a lecturer In a college. 
  3. After clearing MH SET exam one is eligible for applying as a lecturer in any college affiliated with any of the university recognised by UGC in Maharashtra. Clearing of MH SET does not gives guarantee of any job it is just a condition to be cleared. One has to individually apply against the post advertised by various colleges from time to time in the mass media.College authorities can appoint a lecture by their own means. They may take a written test followed by an interview to select the deserving candidate or a walk in interview may be the criterion for the selection.

Q:   Is there any interview round in MH SET exam?
