Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) released RRB ALP notification for Technician and Assistant Loco Pilot posts. RRB ALP exam dates have been announced.The recruitment notice was released online on the respective official websites of RRBs. RRB ALP recruitment is conducted to select candidates for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician for different railway zones. The selection process of RRB ALP recruitment comprises First Stage CBT, Second Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and Document Verification & Medical exam. Age Limit
The maximum age limit is 30 years and minimum age limit is 18 years. The relaxation in the upper age limit given to different categories of candidates is given below.

Q: When RRB ALP notification 2024 was released?
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released a short notification for RRB ALP 2024 recruitment. The detailed notification was released on January 20, 2024. A total of 5696 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment process. The exam is conducted for candidates in the age group of 18 to 30 years and who have completed Class 10/SSLC. The recruitment is done for the post of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians. This year, the age limit for ALP post has been revised. Earlier, the age limit for ALP was 18 to 28 years. The revised age limit is 18 to 30 years.

For RRB ALP and technician posts, candidates need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

Technician: Class 10/ SSLC Plus ITI / Course Completed Act Apprentices or 10 + 2 with Physics and Maths or Diploma in Engineering (As applicable).

RRB ALP Vacancy 2024
RRB ALP 2024 vacancies were announced along with the recruitment notification. The vacancies were announced separately for different railway zones and posts. More than 9000 vacancies were announced for Technician posts and 5696 vacancies were announced for ALP posts.

RRB ALP application form 2024 was released online. RRB ALP application fee is INR 500 for General and OBC categories while it is INR 250 for SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/ Female/ Transgender/ Minorities/Economically backward class. The steps to fill RRB ALP application form are given below:

- Click the 'Apply Online' link
- Register by entering your basic details
- After verification, registration ID and password will be issued
- Fill in other details including educational qualification, community, gender, religion, caste/category, etc

RRB ALP Pattern
The stage-wise exam RRB ALP exam pattern is explained below:
RRB ALP First Stage CBT: This stage is conducted in online mode. The paper includes 75 objective type questions (MCQs) and the total time given to complete the paper is 60 minutes.
RRB ALP Second Stage CBT: This stage comprises two parts, Part A and Part B. Part A carries 100 questions and Part B carries 75 questions. The time given to complete Part A and B is 90 minutes and 60 minutes, respectively.
RRB ALP CBAT: This stage is only for those candidates who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilot posts. The exam is qualifying in nature.

RRB ALP CBAT comprises several test batteries. Candidates are required to qualify each test batteries. The questions set in CBAT are in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. To draw the merit list of ALP, 70 per cent weightage is given to Part A of second stage CBT and 30 per cent in CBAT.

RRB ALP exam pattern for CBT 1 comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, General Science and General awareness on current affairs. The test paper carries a total of 75 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The total marks allotted to the test are 75. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. The score of first stage CBT is used to shortlist candidates for the second stage CBT. The first stage CBT is only to screen candidates for the second stage.

RRB ALP exam pattern for CBT 2 is divided into two parts-Part A and Part B. The details regarding both the parts are given below:
Part A
Part A of CBT 2 comprises 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness on Current Affairs. The duration of the test is 90 minutes.
Part B
Part B of RRB ALP is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). The duration of the test is 60 minutes. Total 75 questions are asked in the exam. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).

RRB ALP CBT 1 2024 will be announced anytime soon by RRBs. The result will be announced on the region-wise official websites of RRBs. The result is made available in PDF form and comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Those who qualify the CBT 1 are called for CBT 2 exam.
