RRB Exams 2024: NTPC, JE, ALP Notification, Exam Date, Vacancy & Eligibility

RRB NTPC exam dates are yet to be announced by the RRBs. RRB NTPC exam dates highlights the important events pertaining to the exam such as the release of application form, admit card, result, answer key, exam, etc. Candidates should keep the exam dates handy so that they do not miss any event. RRB NTPC is expected to be released in July-September by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). According to the Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, RRB NTPC exam will be conducted every year. To apply for RRB NTPC exam, the age of candidates should be between 18 and 30 years. The age limit prescribed for graduate posts is 18 to 33 years. RRB NTPC educational qualification prescribed for undergraduate posts is Class 12 pass. RRB NTPC educational qualification prescribed for the graduate posts is graduation. RRB NTPC 2024 exam comprises various stages such as CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable), and Document Verification/Medical Examination.

RRB Group D 2024 exam will be conducted this year. RRB Group D notification 2024 will be released soon. According to the announcement made by Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, railway group d exam will be conducted every year. The selection process comprises CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. The recruitment is conducted to select candidates for the various posts in Level-1 of the seventh CPC pay matrix such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical, and S&T departments), Assistant Pointsman, and many more. 

In General Intelligence and Reasoning of RRB exam, candidates are assessed based on their ability to think logically. A total of 30 questions are asked from this section in CBT 1 exam. The topics included under General Intelligence and Reasoning are given below. 

RRB Group D application form is released for the post of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman and other Level-I posts. The selection process comprises CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Interested candidates need to apply online for the exam. The application fee can be paid both online and offline. Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the application form. Candidates should not submit multiple applications for RRB Group D exams. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250.

The CBT 1 exam was conducted from November 25 to 29, 2024 for ALP posts. The exam for Technician posts was conducted on December 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 30, 2024. The CBT 1 exam of RRB ALP comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, General Science and General awareness on current affairs. The test carries a total of 75 marks. The CBT 2 is divided into two parts-Part A and Part B. Part A of the second stage CBT comprises 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness on Current Affairs. In Part B, Total 75 questions are asked in the exam. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).

RRB NTPC 2024 notification is expected to be released soon by RRBs. The notification will be released in PDF form on the official website. The notification comprises all the details related to the exam such as application process, eligibility, syllabus, pattern, vacancies, etc. Before applying, candidates should check the RRB NTPC notification to gain clarity about the exam. The selection process of RRB NTPC comprises CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test and Document Verification/Medical exam. RRB NTPC application form 2024 was released on September 14, 2024 for Graduate posts. Interested candidates could apply till October 20, 2024. RRB NTPC application form 2024 for undergraduate posts was available from September 21 to October 27, 2024. Candidates who will fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply online for the exam. • Enter the details to register for the exam
• Registration ID and password are generated
• Fill up the RRB NTPC application form 
• Click on the submit button.
• Pay the application fee
• Take the printout of RRB NTPC application form 2024

The instructions related to RRB NTPC Typing Test are given below:

• The candidates are required to type at least 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi
• The candidates will have to type in English or Hindi, as per option exercised by them on RRB websites. English will be the Typing Language for those who have not exercised their option Candidates who have opted Hindi for Typing Test must be familiar with the usage of Krutidev or Mangal font
• The exam session consists of three parts as Typing practice for one minute to warm up & familiarize with key board,  Break of 30 seconds and Typing Test for 10 minutes which will be taken for evaluation
• As the skill test is to determine the speed, candidates who have completed the passage can retype passage from the beginning within the duration of test i.e. 10 minutes. Candidates who do not type the whole passage at least once in 10 minutes will be treated as disqualified. The transcripts of those candidates who do not type 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi within the prescribed time will not be evaluated
• The evaluation of the passage typed by the candidate will be done as follows:
• The mistakes will be classified as full mistakes and half mistakes. 5 per cent mistakes of the total words typed may be ignored. Accordingly, the total number of mistakes will be calculated as under:

1. No. of full mistakes + No. of half mistakes/2 = Total Mistakes
2. Number of mistakes – 5 per cent of total number of words typed = Final count of mistakes

• The typing speed of the candidate will be worked out by the following formula:
• Typing Speed= No. of total words typed – (Final count of mistake x 10)/Time 
• For example: If a candidate types a total number of 400 words in 10 minutes and commits 10 final count of mistakes, his speed would be worked out as follows:

1. 400- (10x10)/10= 300/10 = 30 w.p.m

• The minimum speed should be 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Hindi

The question paper of RRB Group D CBT is formulated in 15 languages Hindi English Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipur, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. The RRB paper, or Railway Recruitment Board paper, can be in various languages depending on the region or the specific examination. However, the majority of RRB papers are in the official language of the state in which the examination is taking place. For example, if the examination is taking place in Tamil Nadu, the paper is likely to be in Tamil. Likewise, if the exam is taking place in Kolkata, the language of the question paper will be in Bengali. Candidates can opt to choose the exam language while filling the application form.

The percentile score is the normalized score for the examination (instead of the raw marks of the candidate) and is used for the preparation of the merit lists. The percentile score of a candidate for a particular shift is calculated below:

Percentile Score=Number of candidates appeared in the ‘Shift’ with  raw score EQUAL TO or LESS than the candidate/The total number of the candidates who appeared in the ’Shift’ X 1000

The percentile scores for the raw score of all the candidates for all the shifts are merged and called the RRC scores which then is used for the compilation of results and further processing for deciding the merit allocation. The Percentile Scores will be calculated up to 5 decimal places to avoid the bunching effect and reduce ties.

In case of two or more candidates secure same Normalized Percentile Score, their merit position will be determined by age criteria i.e., the older person will be placed at higher merit, and in case age being same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name shall be taken into account to break the tie.

RRB NTPC vacancies are announced depending upon the requirements of the concerned departments in Indian Railways.
