RRB Recruitment 2024: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) is carrying out various recruitment drives in 2024 including the RRB NTPC 2024, RRB ALP 2024, RRB Technician 2024, RRB JE 2024 and RPF SI 2024. The RRB JE recruitment 2024 is underway for 7,951 vacancies, RRB ALP recruitment 2024 seeks to fill 18,799 vacancies and RRB NTPC 2024 recruitment is for 11,558 vacancies. On the other hand, the RPF SI 2024 recruitment is being carried out to fill 452 vacancies for the post of Sub-Inspector (SI) in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). The RRB Group D 2024 recruitment drive will begin soon.

RRB recruitment is carried out for various posts such as Non-Technical Popular Categories, Para-Medical Categories, Ministerial and Isolated Categories, Various Posts in Level 1 of the seventh CPC Pay Matrix, various posts of Jr. Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and CMA, ALP and Technicians, etc. Go through the RRB 2024 recruitment details below.

Q:   What is RRB NTPC selection process?

A:
RRB NTPC selection process comprises various stages such as CBT 1, CBT 2, CBAT/CBTST, document verification and medical exam. The post-wise selection process is given below: First stage CBT, second stage CBT & Computer-based Aptitude Test is conducted for the posts of Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. First stage CBT, Second stage CBT and Typing Skill Test are conducted for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper. Candidates need to appear for document verification and medical examination. For Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, two-stage CBT is conducted, followed by document verification and medical examination.

Q:   What is RRB Group D selection process?

A:
RRB Group D selection process comprises CBT, PET/PST, document verification and medical exam. The transgender candidates are given relaxation in the PET. CCAAs trained in railway establishment are given due weightage of marks obtained in their NCVT exam in preparation of final merit list after the conduct of CBT. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PER, candidates are called for document verification as per their merit and options. In case of two or more candidates secure same marks, their merit position is determined by age criteria i.e., older person is placed at higher merit and in case age is same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. All candidates clearing the DV are called for medical exam. RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

RRB NTPC exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for various non-technical level posts in Indian Railways. The educational qualification is prescribed by RRBs for undergraduate and graduate posts. The educational qualification prescribed for graduate posts is that candidates must have passed graduation from a recognised university. RRB Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria vary as per the posts. RRB Eligibility Criteria for various exams are given below:

RRB Group D

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Educational Qualification: The minimum education qualification for candidates applying to the technical departments is Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal & Telecom departments) and catering wing of Railways will be a Class 10 pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by the National Council for Vocational Training or a Class 10 pass plus ITI.

RRB NTPC

Age Limit: The age limit for the undergraduate post is 18 to 30 years. The age limit for the graduate post is 18 to 33 years.

Educational Qualification:

For undergraduate posts, candidates must have passed Class 12

For graduate posts, candidates must have passed the graduation

RRB JE

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Educational Qualification 

JE Post: An applicant must have three years Diploma in Civil Engineering/Mechanical/ Production/ Automobile / Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering/ Control/ Tools & Machining/ Tools & Die Making/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or BSc in Civil Engineering from a Recognized University/Institute.

DMS: Applicants need to complete a three-year Diploma in Engineering from any govt. recognized university or equivalent.

JE (IT): Candidates must have PGDCA / BSc (Computer Science)/ BCA/ BTech (Information Technology)/ BTech (Computer Science)/ DOEACC ‘B’ level course of three years duration or equivalent.

CMA: Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 55 per cent marks

RRB ALP

Age Limit: 18 to 28 years.

Educational Qualification:

ALP: Must have passed Class 10/SSLC & ITI/Course Completed Act Apprentices or Diploma/Degree in Engineering.

Technician: Completed Class 10/SSLC plus ITI/ Course Completed Act Apprentices or 10+2 with Physics and Maths or Diploma in Engineering

Q:   My age is 36 years. Can I prepare for Railways Group D?

A:
You are not eligible to apply for the upcoming RRB Group D exam cycle. This is due to the age criteria of the RRB for the Group D exam. The age limit for the Indian Railways Group D exam is 33 years. The educational requirement states that applicants must hold a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or have completed the equivalent of grade 10 or higher. However, if you belong to a category like OBC, SC, ST, or PwBD, you may get some age relaxations of up to 5 years. In that case, you can prepare for the Group D exam.

Q:   Is there any qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam?

A:

Yes, there are qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam. The qualifying marks for your and EWS categories are 40 and 30 for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, and ST. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 per cent for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them. Besides the cut off marks, candidates are required to secure the qualifying as per their categories to qualify the exam. For each correct answer in RRB Group D exam, candidates score one mark. 1/3 marks are deducted for wrong answers. The category-wise RRB Group D qualifying marks is given below.

You may be eligible for B-2 or C-2 category.

Railway Recruitment 2024 : Application Form

RRB application form needs to be filled and submitted online only. The RRB Application Fee 2024 which can be paid both online and offline is INR 500 for all candidates except fee concession categories while it is INR 250 for PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Minority Communities, and Economically Backward Class. The RRB Application Form comprises the following steps:

  • Registering for the exam
  • Verification of email ID and mobile number through OTP
  • Filling out the application form
  • Payment and Bank Account Details
  • Scribe for PwBD candidates
  • Entering detailed educational qualification
  • Choose the exam language
  • Fill in the details of the photo identity card

Q:   What is the application fees for RRB Group D exam?

A:

The application fees for RRB Group D exam are INR 500 for all candidates except the fee concession categories. For PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/Economically Backward Class, the application fees are INR 250. The application fee can be paid online and offline. On appearing in CBT, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given full refund of application fee. Those belonging to unreserved categories are given partial refund of application fee. Q:   How much application fees is refunded for RRB Group D exam?

A:

Candidates who appear in the CBT exam are refunded their application fees. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories will be entitled to get a full refund of their examination fees, which is INR 250. Whereas candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC categories receive a partial refund of their examination fees, which is INR 400 after deducting the bank charges. To get the refund of application fee, candidates need to update their bank accounts. While, filling the application form candidates need to provide the details of their bank accounts inorder to get the fee refund.

Railway Recruitment Vacancies 2024

The number of vacancies is released category-wise for various railway zones. The vacancies announced by RRBs are provisional and may be increased or decreased depending on the actual needs of Indian Railways. Also, the examination authority reserves the right to cancel RRB vacancies at any stage of recruitment. RRB ALP Exam Pattern

According to the RRB ALP exam pattern, the first stage of CBT is divided into four sections: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The test paper will have 75 objective-type questions and the duration of the test is 60 minutes. There is a negative marking of 1/3 for wrong answers.

The second stage of CBT is divided into two parts: A and B. Part A comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness and Current Affairs. Part B comprises relevant trade-related questions. Total number of questions in the test will be 175.

The CBAT of RRB comprises five test batteries. Candidates have to score 42 marks in the test battery.

RRB NTPC salary is different for different posts. The starting basic salary range offered to undergraduate posts is INR 19,900 to 21,700. While, the graduate post employees are offered RRB NTPC salary in the range of INR 25,500 to INR 35,400. The monthly basic salary for Junior Clerk cum Typist is INR 19,900 while it is INR 35,400 for Station Master and Commercial Apprentice.
