RRB Exam Pattern 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts various RRB exams based on the prescribed exam pattern or structure. The RRB Exam Pattern 2024 differs for all the railway exams such as RRB NTPC, RRB Group D, RRB ALP, RRB JE and RPF SI examinations. The latest exam pattern for RRB exams is given in the official notification of the exam. Before preparing for the RRB exams 2024, candidates must go through the RRB exam pattern so that they know the overall structure of the exam. Q:   What is RRB ALP exam pattern for CBAT?

A:

RRB ALP CBAT comprises several test batteries. Candidates are required to qualify each test batteries. The questions set in CBAT are in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. To draw the merit list of ALP,  70 per cent weightage is given to Part A of second stage CBT and 30 per cent in CBAT.

The first stage CBT of RRB NTPC comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test paper carries a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The first stage CBT is qualifying in nature. The test carries 100 marks. The exam is held for 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by scribe). The structure of RRB NTPC exam pattern for CBT 1 is given below.

A:

RRB Group D exam pattern is divided into CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Exam. The CBT is conducted for 100. The PET is qualifying in nature, whereas it is important to qualify the exam. Candidates qualifying the PET are called for document verification and medical exam. The final selection of candidates is done based on the CBT provided they qualify PET, medical exam and document verification. The structure of RRB Group D exam pattern is given below:

Q:   How RRB Group D exam pattern helps in preparation?

A:

Candidates must begin their RRB Group D preparation by going through the exam pattern as it is regarding the overall structure of the test. After going through the exam pattern, candidates should go through the topics given in the syllabus. Candidates should also go through the previous years' question papers to know the types of questions asked in the exam as well as the important topics. The exam pattern of RRB Group D comprises-CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Exam. The total marks allotted to CBT are 100. RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024

According to the RRB ALP exam pattern, the first stage of CBT is divided into four sections: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The test paper will have 75 objective-type questions and the duration of the test is 60 minutes. There is a negative marking of 1/3 for wrong answers.

The second stage of CBT is divided into two parts: A and B. Part A comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness and Current Affairs. Part B comprises relevant trade-related questions. The total number of questions in the second stage will be 175.

The CBAT of RRB comprises five test batteries. Candidates have to score 42 marks in the test battery. RRB Exam Pattern for ALP is given below.

RRB ALP exam pattern for CBT 2 is divided into two parts-Part A and Part B. The details regarding both the parts are given below:

Part A

Part A of CBT 2 comprises 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness on Current Affairs. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. 

Part B

Part B of RRB ALP is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). The duration of the test is 60 minutes. Total 75 questions are asked in the exam. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed  by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2024

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern is divided into first-stage CBT, second-stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) and Typing Skill Test. The structure of the exam for these stages is given below:

CBAT

This stage comprises different test batteries consisting of five to six tests. There is no negative mark for this test.

Typing Skill Test

Candidates are given to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Computer. Candidates cannot use editing tools and spell-check facilities. 

Q:   Is there minimum qualifying marks in RRB NTPC exam?

A:

Yes, there is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks. Besides, cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in CBTs and CBAT inorder to qualify the exam. The CBT 1 comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the CBT 1 are 100. The CBT 2 comprises questions from General Questions Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Total marks allotted to the test are 120.

Q:   Is RRB NTPC exam tough?

A:
RRB NTPC exam was moderate in terms of difficulty level. The General Awareness section was moderate, while General Intelligence and Reasoning sections were easy. The overall difficulty level of the Mathematics section was easy to moderate. RRB NTPC exam is held for 90 minutes for general candidates while 120 minutes is given for PwBD candidates. There are no sectional timings in RRB NTPC exam. Candidates need to attempt the paper within the allotted time duration.

Yes, there is normalisation of marks in RRB NTPC exam. According to the normalisation process, the marks obtained in the exam are calculated on the basis of an average score of the top one percent of the candidates considering all shifts. The marks are calculated up to five decimal places. RRB NTPC exam is conducted in various stages, such as first stage CBT, second stage CBT, Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (as applicable), and Document Verification/Medical Examination.

RRB JE Exam Pattern 2024

The first stage of CBT as per the RRB JE exam pattern comprises four sections. The test paper will have 100 questions. The total marks of the test are 100. The duration of the test is 90 minutes.

The second stage of CBT comprises General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control and Technical Abilities. RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2024

RRB Group D Exam Pattern highlights the structure of CBT and PET. The CBT is conducted in 15 languages. The exam comprises four sections. The duration of the test is 90 minutes and 120 minutes will be given to PwBD candidates. The test paper carries 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. For the correct answer, candidates will get one mark. For incorrect answers, 1/3 marks will be deducted. PET is conducted for candidates qualifying for the CBT. In PET, male candidates are given to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes. They should run for a distance of 1000 meters in 2 minutes, 4 minutes and 15 seconds. Female candidates should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes. They should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds. Candidates qualifying for the PET are called for document verification. 

Q:   What is RRB Group D negative marking?

A:

There is a negative marking in the RRB Group D exam. 1/3 of marks are deducted for wrong answers. Candidates for correct answers are awarded one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. RRB Group D marking scheme is given below.

Q:   In how many languages RRB Group D question paper will be framed?

The question paper of RRB Group D CBT is formulated in 15 languages Hindi English Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipur, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. The RRB paper, or Railway Recruitment Board paper, can be in various languages depending on the region or the specific examination. However, the majority of RRB papers are in the official language of the state in which the examination is taking place. For example, if the examination is taking place in Tamil Nadu, the paper is likely to be in Tamil. Likewise, if the exam is taking place in Kolkata, the language of the question paper will be in Bengali. Candidates can opt to choose the exam language while filling the application form.

Q:   What is RRB Group D normalisation?

A:
RRBs follow percentile-based normalisation in the RRB Group D exam. The percentile score of each candidate is converted into normalised marks by inserting the raw marks into the base shift. The calculation of base shift is done by using the standard mathematical formula of interpolation. The percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) that particular percentile in that examination.
