RRB Exam Result 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board, being the conducting body of all RRB exams, announces the Railway Recruitment results after the completion of the assessment process. The RRB JE Result, RRB ALP Result, RRB NTPC result and RRB Group D result are released on the regional websites. The RRB exam results are released online through an official notification. The Railway results are announced in the form of a merit list in PDF format. The RRB merit list PDF contains the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Candidates can download their scorecards for the RRB Exam 2024 by logging in with the required credentials. The results of the RRB NTPC, RRB JE, RRB Group D and RRB ALP exams also contain the cut-off marks.

Q:   What are the steps to check RRB Group D result?

A:

RRB Group D result is announced online separately for CBT, PET/PST and final selection. The result for each stage is announced on the official website of RRBs in PDF form. The result PDF displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. The steps to check RRB Group D result are given below:

  • Candidates need to visit the official website of RRBs
  • Click the 'RRB Group D result' link on the home page
  • Clicking the link, the result PDF opens on a new page
  • Search your roll number in the result PDF 
  • Download the result PDF and save it

Q:   When RRB NTPC scorecard is released?

A:

RRB NTPC scorecard is released along with the result. To download the scorecard, candidates are required to enter user ID and password. The hard copy of the scorecard is not sent to candidates by post. The steps to download RRB NTPC scorecard are given below:

  • Candidates need to visit the respective websites of RRBs
  • Click the 'RRB NTPC Scorecard link' on the home page
  • In the login page, candidates need to enter user ID and password
  • The scorecard appears on the screen which reflects the overall and section-wise marks and qualifying marks
  • Download the scorecard and take its printout

Q:   Is there minimum qualifying marks in RRB NTPC exam?

A:

Yes, there is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks. Besides, cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in CBTs and CBAT inorder to qualify the exam. The CBT 1 comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the CBT 1 are 100. The CBT 2 comprises questions from General Questions Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Total marks allotted to the test are 120.

Q:   How is RRB ALP final merit list prepared?

A:

The final merit list of RRB ALP is prepared based on the following parameters:

  • Applicants should note that first stage CBT is qualifying in nature

  • The merit list of CBT 2 stage is determined on the basis of total marks secured by aspirants in CBT 1 results

  • Candidares are called for document verification process on the basis of their performance in Second Stage CBT

  • Candidates should note that the merit list of ALP results will be drawn by counting 70 epr cent marks of Part A of second stage CBT while 30 per cent to CBAT.

Q:   Is the RRB Group D result announced based on the normalised marks?

A:

Yes, RRB Group D result is declared after the marks of the candidates are normalised using the equi-percentile method. The percentile score of each candidate is converted by RRBs into normalised marks by interpolation of the raw marks into the base shift. The calculation of base shift is done using the standard mathematical formula of interpolation. The purpose of interpolation of the raw marks into the base shift is done to decide the minimum qualifying marks as well as give weightage in marks to CCAA candidates.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in RRB NTPC exam?

A:
Yes, there is a negative marking in RRB NTPC exam. 1/3 of the marks are deducted for wrong answers. For the correct answer, candidates score one mark. The total marks of the exam are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The question paper of RRB NTPC is framed in 15 languages-Hindi, English Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipur, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.

Q:   Is there any qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam?

A:

Yes, there are qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam. The qualifying marks for UR and EWS categories are 40 per cent while it is 30 per cent for OBC (Non Creamy Layer), SC and ST. Candidates need to secure both the qualifying marks and overall cut off marks. The category-wise qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam are given below.

RRB will announce the Railway RRB Result 2024 on its official website. Candidates will be able to check their results on the respective RRB's official website. RRB Result Direct Link will also be provided on this page once it gets released. Candidates can download their results through this link. Candidates must keep patience, wait for some time, and then try to download their results.

Q:   How is RRB NTPC score calculated?

A:

The raw score of RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam is computed as below:

  • Total questions - 100
  • No of questions ignored (question wrong, multiple options correct, etc.): 2
  • No of questions attempted: 60
  • No of questions attempted correctly: 54
  • No. of wrongly answers: 6
  • Positive marks: 54
  • Negative marks: 2
  • Net score: 54-2=52
  • Score out of 100: (52/98)*100= 53.06
  • Raw score= 53.06

Q:   How the empanelling of candidates is done in RRB Group D exam?

A:

Empanelling of candidates in RRB Group D exam is done based on their performance in CBT, subject to their qualifying in PET. The appointment is offered to selected candidates provided they qualify the requisite medical fitness test and document verification. In case two or more candidates secure the same marks, their merit position is determined by the age criteria. The letter of appointment is issued by the Railway Administrations. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. It may also be noted that all candidates successful in DV are sent for Medical Examination. Clearing of such Medical Examination by additional candidates (those called for DV beyond the notified number of vacancies) will give such candidates no right to be considered for appointment. Candidates may note that RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

A:

Candidates can click 'Forgot Password' tab to retrieve the password/roll number for checking RRB NTPC result. The process is explained below:

  • Visit the region-wise official websites of RRBs
  • Select your respective region
  • Chose the option ‘RRB NTPC Roll Number Forgot Link’
  • The next page will be open
  • The RRB will ask you for some details
  • Enter your name, father’s name and date of birth
  • Enter registered mobile number
  • RRBs sent an OTP at the registered mobile number
  • Enter the OTP at the appropriate place
  • Now click on the ‘Submit Button’
  • The Registration ID is sent to your registered e-mail ID

Q:   What is the tie-breaking policy of RRB NTPC?

A:

The tie-breaking policy of RRB NTPC exam is given below:

  • In case of two or more candidates secure the same marks, the merit position in RRB NTPC exam is determined based on the age criteria, older candidates are placed at higher merit
  • In case the age is the same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie

Q:   How many questions are asked in RRB Group D exam?

A:
The question paper of RRB Group D comprises a total of 100 questions. There are a total of 25 questions each in General Science and Mathematics. Total 30 questions are asked in General Intelligence and Reasoning section and 20 in General Awareness and Current Affairs. RRB Group D exam is conducted for the post of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman and other Level-I posts. RRB Railway Result 2024: Score Calculation

The score of CBT is calculated as per the marking scheme released by the RRBs. The marking scheme prescribed for the CBT is given below:

  • For the correct answer, candidates score one mark
  • 1/3 of marks are deducted for wrong answers
  • The score is calculated based on the number of correct answers after applying the penalty for wrong answers

Railway Result 2024: Normalisation of marks

The result of various stages is declared after normalising the marks of candidates. The normalisation of marks is done since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. This is done to adjust the variations in the difficulty levels of question papers across various sessions.
