Cracking SBI exams is a dream for many aspiring candidates. The various exams of SBI such as PO, Clerk and SO are conducted annually. Q:   How many minimum marks are required to crack SBI PO exam?

A:

The minimum marks to crack SBI PO exam isn't disclosed yet by the governing committee. It depends on the level of competition and the number of vacancies they have. Based on these, after the examination is over, the committee decides the cut-off level and sends notifications to the qualifying candidates informing them of further procedures. There are no sectional cut off marks in SBI PO exam. Candidates need to secure the overall cut off marks as per their categories in the exam. The marks of candidate are calculated as per the marking scheme. The marking scheme is given below:

  • There is SBI PO negative marking for wrong answers, one-fourth marks assigned to a particular question in the objective test are deducted as penalty to arrive at the corrected scores
  • There is no SBI PO negative marking for the subjective part of the mains exam
  • If a question is left blank, there will be no penalty for that question
  • For correct answers, candidates score one mark

A:

The descriptive paper comprises questions based on Essays and Letters. This paper test the and English Language and writing skills of candidates. The descriptive paper carries two questions. The total marks allotted to this paper are 50. The descriptive paper is conducted online for 50 marks. Candidates are not allowed to use the keyboard while answering the questions. Q:   How long does it take to pass the SBI Clerk exam?

A:
According to the testimony of many successful SBI Clerk exam candidates, it takes at least six months to pass. The reason is that it is a two-stage exam with vast syllabuses for prelims and Mains. The preliminary stage consists of three sections, which are: English language, reasoning ability, and numerical ability. For the main stage, there are a total of four sections, with "general" and "financial awareness" as additional sections. The aspirants are required to cover the completed syllabus and then practice for both stages. After clearing these stages, shortlisted aspirants have to pass a language proficiency test. Therefore, you need a minimum of six months to pass this exam. Depending on their level of preparation, some may require less time.

Q:   What is SBI Clerk negative marking?

A:
There is a negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam. 1/4th mark assigned to a particular question is deducted as a penalty for wrong answers. For correct answers in the exam, candidates score one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method. Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations. The marks of candidates are calculated as per marking scheme. Candidates should attempt maximum number of questions to secure the desired score in the exam.

The difficulty level of the prelims exam is usually easy. The English and Reasoning sections are easy, whereas, Maths section is easy to moderate. The Mains exam paper is usually moderate. The difficulty level of the English Language section is easy, Quant section is moderate, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude section is moderate and General/Financial Awareness section is moderate. The prelims exam of SBI Clerk carries questions from Reasoning, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The mains exam of SBI Clerk carries questions from General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. SBI Clerk Exam Pattern

SBI Clerk preliminary exam comprises three sections, English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The exam comprises 100 questions and the total marks allotted for the exam are 100. Candidates need to answer the questions within one hour. The mains exam comprises questions from General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The paper consists of 190 questions. The duration of the test is 2 Hours 40 minutes.

SBI PO Exam Pattern

The exam covers three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The paper comprises 100 objective-type questions. The total marks of the test are 100. The duration of the test is one hour, with sectional timings. The mains exam is a mix of objective and descriptive type tests. The objective section carries questions from Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, and English Language. The subjective section comprises questions from the English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The exam carries a total of 157 questions and the total marks are 250.

SBI SO Exam Pattern

Law Officer: The exam pattern for the Law Officer will have two sections. The first section comprises Reasoning and English Language while the second section is Professional Knowledge. The total duration of the test is 135 minutes. The exam consists of 170 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The total marks for the test are 220.

Systems, CA and Engineering Officers: The question paper of these posts carries questions from Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Professional Knowledge. The test paper comprises 170 questions, and the total marks of the exam are 220. Students will get 135 minutes to complete the paper.

Economist post: The exam comprises questions from Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Professional Knowledge. The total marks for the exam are 220. The total duration of the test is 135 minutes.

The prelims exam comprises objective-type questions from English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100.
