SBI Recruitment 2024: Important Dates, Vacancies, Eligibility & Selection Process

SBI PO 2024 notification was released on December 26, 2024. The notification was released in PDF form and comprises the details related to the exam. Before applying for the exam, candidates must read the notification carefully to understand the exam well. The selection process of SBI Clerk comprises prelims and Mains exams. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. The final selection is done through the Mains exam. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are required to appear for the language proficiency test. In this test, candidates are judged based on their proficiency in the language of the state they have applied for.

The age of candidates for SBI Clerk must be between 20 and 28 years. SBI Clerk age limit is such that candidates must have born not earlier than August 2, 1994 and not later than August 1, 2002 (Both Days Inclusive). Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in the upper SBI Clerk age limit as per the government rules.

The application process comprised several steps such as registration, uploading of scanned photograph & signature, filling the detailed application form, previewing the application form and paying the application fees. No, you are not required to send the printout of SBI Clerk application form. Candidates should rather keep the printout of the application form till the completion of the recruitment process. SBI Clerk application form needs to be filled online only. The application fee for the exam is INR 750 for the General and OBC categories. However, SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS candidates are exempted from paying the application fees. Before filling the application form, candidates must ascertain their eligibility for the exam. The verification of eligibility is done at the time of document verification. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility requirement prescribed by the examination authority are rejected from the recruitment process.

You can apply for SBI PO post after graduating from IGNOU. The educational qualification prescribed for the exam is graduation in any discipline or equivalent from a recognised central university. The final year degree candidates can also apply for the exam subject to the condition that if called for interview they need to provide relevant Certificate signifying that they passed graduation. The age limit prescribed for the exam is 21 and 30 years. Candidates belonging to reserved category are given relaxation in the upper age limit. There are also restrictions in the number of attempts. The number of attempts for General category is 4, General (PwD) category is 7, OBC is 7, OBC (PwD) is 7. There is no restriction for SC/ST (PwD).

The minimum marks to crack SBI PO exam isn't disclosed yet by the governing committee. It depends on the level of competition and the number of vacancies they have. Based on these, after the examination is over, the committee decides the cut-off level and sends notifications to the qualifying candidates informing them of further procedures. There are no sectional cut off marks in SBI PO exam. Candidates need to secure the overall cut off marks as per their categories in the exam. The marks of candidate are calculated as per the marking scheme. The marking scheme is given below:

• There is SBI PO negative marking for wrong answers, one-fourth marks assigned to a particular question in the objective test are deducted as penalty to arrive at the corrected scores
• There is no SBI PO negative marking for the subjective part of the mains exam
• If a question is left blank, there will be no penalty for that question
• For correct answers, candidates score one mark
