Q:   Who can apply for SBI PO?

A:
An Indian citizen who has graduated from any recognised university can apply for the SBI PO exam. However, he or she will have to fulfill other requirements as well, which are as follows: 1. If the person is in their final year of graduation, then he or she will be required to provide a passing Certificate during the interview process. 2. The applicant must be at least 21 years old to apply. He or she should not be more than 30 years old for the general category. 3. There is an age relaxation for some categories, such as OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) gets a three-year age relaxation, while the SC and ST get a five-year age relaxation to apply. 4. The general-category applicant is limited to four applications. For OBC candidates, the limit is seven, whereas there is no limit for SC and ST candidates.

Applicants must know how to speak, read, and write the local language of the particular state that they are applying for. Q:   What is SBI Clerk age limit?

A:

The age of candidates for SBI Clerk must be between 20 and 28 years. SBI Clerk age limit is such that candidates must have born not earlier than August 2, 1994 and not later than August 1, 2002 (Both Days Inclusive). Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in the upper SBI Clerk age limit as per the government rules.

Q:   What qualities a candidate should have to get selected for SBI PO in the interview?

A:
The two prominent qualities are focus and hard work. Although, The preliminary exam, main exam, and psychometric test (group discussion/interview) are the three stages that make up the SBI PO selection process. The preliminary test, which is the first phase, is qualifying in character. The main exam is the second step and consists of both descriptive and objective tests. To pass the SBI PO cut-off, candidates must achieve high scores in each exam stage. The cutoff for the General category in the SBI PO preliminaries was 58.5, whereas the General category cutoff in the SBI PO Mains was 94.85.

SBI Application Form can be filled out online only. The application fee which can be paid online is INR 750 for General, EWS, and OBC candidates. No, you are not required to send the printout of SBI Clerk application form. Candidates should rather keep the printout of the application form till the completion of the recruitment process. SBI Clerk application form needs to be filled online only. The application fee for the exam is INR 750 for the General and OBC categories. However, SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS candidates are exempted from paying the application fees. Before filling the application form, candidates must ascertain their eligibility for the exam. The verification of eligibility is done at the time of document verification. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility requirement prescribed by the examination authority are rejected from the recruitment process.

A:

You can apply for SBI PO post after graduating from IGNOU. The educational qualification prescribed for the exam is graduation in any discipline or equivalent from a recognised central university. The final year degree candidates can also apply for the exam subject to the condition that if called for interview they need to provide relevant Certificate signifying that they passed graduation. The age limit prescribed for the exam is 21 and 30 years. Candidates belonging to reserved category are given relaxation in the upper age limit. There are also restrictions in the number of attempts. The number of attempts for General category is 4, General (PwD) category is 7, OBC is 7, OBC (PwD) is 7. There is no restriction for SC/ST (PwD).

Q:   What is SBI Clerk negative marking?

A:
There is a negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam. 1/4th mark assigned to a particular question is deducted as a penalty for wrong answers. For correct answers in the exam, candidates score one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method. Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations. The marks of candidates are calculated as per marking scheme. Candidates should attempt maximum number of questions to secure the desired score in the exam.

The prelims and Mains exams of SBI Clerk are conducted online. The prelims and Mains exams are conducted in multiple shifts. The prelims exam is conducted in four shifts whereas the Mains exam is conducted in two shifts. Q:   What is the process to answer questions in SBI Clerk exam?

A login screen will be displayed to the candidate. The candidate has to log in using his/her User ID and Password which is provided on the SBI Clerk admit card After logging in the Candidate's profile (Name, Roll No. & photograph etc. ) will be displayed and the candidate has to confirm the same by clicked on the I confirm button confirming the profile is correct Thereafter the instructions will be displayed on the screen A candidate should read the instructions carefully and indicate that he has done so by checking (click) the box at the bottom of the screen, after which the I am ready to begin button is activated After clicking on the I am ready to begin button the actual test time will begin In Online Preliminary Examination, there will be 100 Questions and in Online Main Examination there will be 190 Questions and each question is followed by 5 alternatives/options The questions except those on English . Language/General English . Will be available in Hindi and in English . In order to view a given question in the other language, a candidate can click on the view in drop down box and select the desired language Only one question will be displayed at a time In order to answer a question, the candidate has to mouse click the option he/she thinks is appropriate/ correct The alternative which has been clicked on will be highlighted and shall be treated as the answer given by the candidate for the question. After selecting an answer for a question the candidate should click on the Save & Next button to save the answer and proceed to the next question In case a candidate does not wish to attempt the question then they should not click on any option for that question. Q:   How many minimum marks are required to crack SBI PO exam?

A:

The minimum marks to crack SBI PO exam isn't disclosed yet by the governing committee. It depends on the level of competition and the number of vacancies they have. Based on these, after the examination is over, the committee decides the cut-off level and sends notifications to the qualifying candidates informing them of further procedures. There are no sectional cut off marks in SBI PO exam. Candidates need to secure the overall cut off marks as per their categories in the exam. The marks of candidate are calculated as per the marking scheme. The marking scheme is given below:

  • There is SBI PO negative marking for wrong answers, one-fourth marks assigned to a particular question in the objective test are deducted as penalty to arrive at the corrected scores
  • There is no SBI PO negative marking for the subjective part of the mains exam
  • If a question is left blank, there will be no penalty for that question
  • For correct answers, candidates score one mark

No, the marks of SBI Clerk prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for the language proficiency test. The prelims exam comprises three sections-Quant, Reasoning and English Language. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks decided by the examination authority as per their categories in the prelims exam. Candidates securing equal to or more than the qualifying marks are called for the mains exam. There are no sectional cutoffs in the SBI Clerk exam.

Yes, of course you can crack SBI PO with 5 months preparation. A daily study plan of 5-6 hours for 5 months is more than enough to clear SBI PO. Plan your studies with adequate breaks. Buy books which cover all the topics (Reasoning, Aptitude and English). Read The Hindu newspaper daily for GK and to improve your vocabulary. Cracking IBPS PO exam does not require years and years of preparation. You can clear the exam with five months of preparation if you follow the right strategy and approach. You need to really work hard to crack the exam. Consistency is important for preparation and candidates should study regularly for the exam.
