Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases SSC Stenographer result online for different phases of exam. The result was announced on the official of SSC in PDF form and comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. The marks of SSC Stenographer are released after the result is declared. Candidates can download their marks by logging with the required credentials.

SSC Stenographer Scores

The scores of both qualified and non-qualified candidates are released a few days after the declaration of result. Candidates can access their scorecard by logging with user ID and password. The scorecard can be downloaded within the time-frame fixed by the examination authority. The scorecard displays the section-wise and total scores obtained by the candidates. 

SSC Stenographer Result: Calculation of scores

The scores are calculated in the following manner:

  • For the correct answer, candidates are awarded one mark
  • There is a negative marking for wrong answers, 0.25 marks are deducted for incorrect answers
  • The scores of candidates are calculated based on correct and incorrect answers
  • Marks scored by candidates in Computer-Based Examination are normalized using the equi-percentile method
  • The normalized scores are used to determine the final merit list

Normalisation of marks 

SSC calculates the scores of candidates based on the normalisation procedure. This method is followed to adjust the difficulty level of question papers since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.

Mode of selection

The mode of selection is given below:

  • Based on the marks of CBE, candidates are selected category-wise to appear for the Skill Test
  • The skill test is mandatory and qualifying in nature
  • Candidates who qualify the skill test are considered for final selection on the basis of their merit in the CBE
  • Final selection and allocation of ministries/departments are made on the basis of their performance in the CBE and preferences of posts/departments given at the time of document verification
  • The final allotment is done on the basis of merit-cum-preferences

SSC Stenographer result: Resolution of Ties

In the case where more than one candidate secures equal aggregate marks in the computer-based exam, the tie is resolved by applying the following method:

  • Marks in Part-I (i.e. General Intelligence & Reasoning)
  • Marks in Part-II (i.e. General Awareness)
  • Date of birth, older candidates will be placed higher
  • Alphabetical order in which names of the candidates appear

SSC Stenographers Salary 2024 is categorised into Grade C and Grade D, with monthly payments determined by the 7th pay commission. Grade C Stenographers enjoy an in-hand salary of INR 51,000, while Grade D Stenographers receive INR 36,000 per month.

The pay matrix ranges from INR 4,200 or INR 4,600 for Grade C to 2,400 for Grade D. In addition to the base SSC Stenographer salary reflected in the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D salary slip, employees are eligible for various allowances associated with their positions.

The Computer Based Test of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. The General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections carry 50 questions each while the English Language and Comprehension section comprises 100 questions. Total marks allotted to General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections are 50 each while the English Language and Comprehension section carry 100 marks. Candidates will be given two hours to complete the exam.

In the skill test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi which they need to type at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for Stenographer Grade D post.
