TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2024: Vacancy, Eligibility, Post, Age Limit & Process

The TNPSC Group 2 recruitment is done for the following positions.

TNPSC Group 2 exam is very popular in the state and hence the number of candidates is very high. The TNPSC Group 2A posts don't fall under the purview of interview.

The TNPSC Group 2 recruitment is done through the prelims exam, main exam and the interview (for some posts). TNPSC Group 2 Eligibility conditions are defined in the notification. The TNPSC Group 2 recruitment notification mentions the educational and age criteria for all the post separately. The TNPSC Group 2 recruitment notification defines the essential and preferential qualifications. The education criteria for the Group 2 and Group 2A post is defined separately for each of the posts. For most of the posts, the educational requirement is a Graduate degree from a recognised university.

The TNPSC Group 2 Age limit is defined for all the posts notified in the TNPSC Group 2 recruitment notification. For the post except the following

• Sub-Registrar Grade-II
• Probation Officer in the Prison Department
• Social Defence Department

The lower age limit is 18 years

The upper age limit is 30 years.

The age limit for the given posts is as follows.

Age relaxation is provided to the candidates belonging to the reserve categories. There is no upper age limit for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste Category.

Note: There is no maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ SC (Arunthathiyars), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Most Backward Class (MBC)/ Denotified Community (DC), Backward Class (BC), Backward Classes (Muslims) and destitute widows of all categories. The maximum age limit means that candidates should not have completed 58 years of age on the date of notification or at the time of selection to a particular post.

The official website informs, “Applicants not belonging to SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM) and BCM who have put in five years and more of service in the State/Central Government are not eligible even if they are within the age limit.”

The TNPSC Group 2 application form link is activated after the release of the TNPSC Group 2 notification. The candidates need to fill out the TNPSC Group 2 application within time and submit the required application fee as per the category. There is an application fee relaxation for the candidates belonging to the reserve categories.

TNPSC Group 2 Admit Card

After the scrutiny of the TNPSC Group 2 Application forms, the Commission sends the TNPSC Group 2 admit card to the eligible candidate for the TNPSC Group 2 exam.

TNPSC Group 2 Selection Process

The TNPSC Group 2 exam is a mix of two-stage and three-stage exam. The TNSPC Group 2 (Interview post) as the name suggests requires interviews and for the rest of the posts, the exam process is two-stage. All the three stages of the exam are given below

• Main exam
• Interview (for some posts)

TNPSC Group 2 Result

After the exam of each stage, the TNPSC Group 2 result is declared by the commission. The candidate needs to qualify each stage to become eligible to appear in the next stage.
