A:

The exam body, WBJEEB, has not announced the dates of PUBDET 2025 yet. However, it is likely that the exam will be coducted in the first week of July 2025. For 2024, this state-level entrance exam was conducted on July 7. Applications for the same were open from February 15, 2024 to March 18, 2024.

Yes. Candidates can choose the exam centre the nearest to them. However, candidates are advised that once the application form is submitted, the candidate can not change their exam centre so be careful.The allocation of the PUBDET exam centres was based on the choices gave by the candidate during the online form fill up. The candidate has to carry their admit card, passport size photograph and any government authorised ID such as Aadhar Card/Driving License/Voter's ID. Q:   Can we ask for change in the PUBDET exam centre mentioned on the admit card?

A:

Allocation of PUBDET examination centre is based on the choices of zones given by the candidate. However, under unavoidable circumstances, any candidates may be allocated in a zone out of his/her choice. Discretion of the Board in allocation of examination zone/centre shall be final. No request for change of allocated centre will be entertained under any circumstances. Q:   What are the special facilities provided to PWD candidates for appearing in the PUBDET examination?

A:
  • Concessional application fees: PWD candidates are eligible for 40% concession on application fees. To avail the same, the candidate must formally apply in writing (enclosing a copy of his/her confirmation page and PWD certificate) to the Chairman, WBJEEB and send/submit the application to the Board office within the last date of online application.
  • Compensatory time: Twenty minutes per hour compensatory time as per duration of examination (On pro-rata basis) will be allowed to the PWD candidates with benchmark disabilities.
  • Scribe/reader: Facility of own Scribe/Reader will be allowed to a candidate with benchmark disability and has limitation in writing including that of speed if so desired by him/her. In order to avail the facility of compensatory time and/or scribe/reader, the candidate must formally apply in writing to the Chairman, WBJEEB and send/submit the application to the Board office within the last date of online application. Special arrangement will be made in the office of the Board in Kolkata for such candidates to sit for the examination. Such facilities are not available in other examination centers.

Q:   What are the legal jurisdiction in PUBDET exam?

A:

All matters pertaining to conduct of the examination and counselling shall fallwithin the jurisdiction of Kolkata only. The Board will not be a party pertaining to any dispute arising in the process of admission WBJEEB is obliged to share with any candidate any information about his/ her own status in common entrance test and counselling, for which any candidate can contact WBJEEB individually and personally. But WBJEEB is unable to share any information about any other candidate.

No, the PUBDET result is not published in the form of a merit list. The exam body announces the result in the form of Rank Cards for each examinee separately. They must log on to the official website to download their rank cards. These rank cards must also be produced during the counselling session.

The application fee for PUBDET is INR 500 (excluding bank charges for internet services). Applicants must pay this fee while filling the application form. It can be paid using Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card or by cash using Allahabad Bank e-challan.
