A:
Reference books for the PUBDET: Study the theory portion from Resnick-Halliday-Walker/ Sears-Zemansky, if you have used them for your IIT preparation. Else, any standard textbook for Plus Two would suffice. However, familiarity with the two classics I just mentioned would help you once your course commences. For problems, H. C. How to Prepare for PUBDET 2025?

The preparation strategy for PUBDET 2025 is quite straightforward. Refer to the points provided below to plan it out efficiently.

  • Prepare a timetable - Once you have gone through the pattern and syllabus of the exam, prepare a timetable considering the time left for the exam. Make sure that your timetable covers all the topics of the syllabus and that you have enough time for revisions. Also, dedicate the last few days before the exam to practice questions.
  • Gather the best study material - It always comes in handy if you have the best resources at your disposal. Google the best books for PUBDET preparation. However, this is an undergrad-level entrance test, your notes from classes 11 and 12 may suffice. If you are going for a guidebook, make sure that it covers all the topics and has plenty of questions and sample papers. Also collect old PUBDET question papers, sample tests and mock tests.
  • Revise - Revision is the key to retention. While you're studying, try and make short notes that you can go through at the end of the day. You can also schedule revisions after completing a certain topic.
  • Solve plenty of questions - The best way to familiarise yourself with the test is to go through it before the exam day. Apart from topic-wise questions, keep solving test papers every now and then. When you sit down to solve a sample paper or an older PUBDET paper, you can time yourself. This way you can work on your speed. And when you evaluate the papers that you have solved, you will figure out what are the areas that you find difficult. You can work on those areas some more.
  • Take breaks - Under pressure, it is super easy to disregard rest. Make sure you get time away from your PUBDET preparation. Take short breaks, take a walk, listen to music, chat friends up, or whatever makes you feel relaxed. However, do not get carried away. Come back from your breaks.
