CAT 2024 registration process has started from August 1, 2024. To apply for CAT 2024, the candidates have to register on the official CAT website. The CAT registration process includes furnishing basic details like name, age, country, email ID and mobile phone number. Once the registration is done, a user ID and password will be shared with the candidate in the email. Payment of CAT registration fee of INR 2,500 (INR 1,250 for Reserved category students) can be done online through credit/debit cards or net banking. This year, the CAT exam fee has been increased, yet again.

Candidates must note that the CAT application form is also the IIM application form. In the CAT application form, there is a field in which candidates have to select 1-21 IIMs of their choice, where they wish seek admission. Candidates will be eligible and shortlisted for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) of only those IIMs which they shall have selected in the CAT 2024 application form.

Q:   What is the CAT application fee?

A:

The CAT application fee is INR 2,500 for General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates. For the SC/SCT/PWD candidates, the fee is INR 1,250. Applicants have to pay the fee at the time of form filling. The application form is not accepted without the payment of fees. Candidates must also keep in mind that the CAT application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Thus, candidates must fill their forms carefully as if they make a mistake they will have to fill the application form again and pay the fees again. There is a provision of form correction in CAT but only test centre, photo and signature can be edited in the already submitted form. In case, you, ve made a mistake in any other field, you will have to fill the form again. 

Q:   Where can I get CAT 2024 registration link? What information is to be filled in the form?

A:

CAT registration cum application form link is activated at iimcat.ac.in.in website. The CAT 2024 registration link was made live on August 1, 2024.. Candidates will have to open this url: iimcat.ac.in to register for CAT 2024 and fill the application form before the registration deadline (September 13, 2024). The CAT application process includes uploading of relevant documents and payment of fees, without which the application will not be submitted. There will be six sections in CAT application form which candidates will be required to fill. They are - personal details, academic details, work experience, programmes, test city and fee payment. 

In Personal Details section, the candidates will have to enter details such as name, date of birth, father's name, category, gender, nationality, communication address, email ID, mobile phone number, etc.

In Academic Details section of the form, candidates have to enter class 10 and 12 exam scores, Bachelor's degree details and marksheet and details of other professional courses (if any).

In Work Experience section, candidates have to fill relevant work-experience if any, they need to fill in details such as name of the company, duration, etc.

In the programmes section, applicants have to select IIMs and MBA programmes of their choice. In the test city section candidates have to select test city for allotment of exam centre. Candidates can select up to six cities from the given list.

In the payment section, candidates have to pay the registration fee via Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking or Paytm/PayU mobile wallets.

Q:   Where can I fill CAT 2024 application form?

A:

CAT 2024 application form will be released on the official website - iimcat.ac.in. on August 1, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill the CAT form and pay the application fee online by creating a log ID. The application process for CAT 2024 exam registration window will remain open until September 13, 2024. The CAT exam date and registration schedule was announced on July 30, 2024. Given below is the brief description of how to fill the CAT application form:

Step 1. Go to iimcat. ac. in website

Step 2. Click on 'new registration' 

Step3. Enter name, date of birth, nationality, country, phone number and email ID 

Step 4. Click on submit and use OTP received to generate CAT ID

Step 5. The ID and password will be shared in email

Step 6. Use the CAT ID and password to login and fill the application form

Step 7. In the application form, fill personal details, academic details, work experience, test city preference, courses and Iims.

Step 8. Upload recent passport size photo and signature

Step 9. Pay application fee via debit/credit card, net banking or UPI wallet to complete the form submission process.

CAT 2024 registration last date is September 13., 2024. Candidates planning to appear for the CAT 2024 should fill the form as soon as they can.

Six Tips to Ensure Error-Free CAT 2024 Form Submission

Take a look at a few tips to ensure error free CAT 2024 registration and submission of the application form:

1. Submit the CAT 2024 form before the last date: Since over 2 lakh candidates apply for CAT exam every year, the wise thing to do is to not wait until the last day to submit the form. You might face server related problems which could delay CAT 2024 registration. There is no provision of submitting the CAT 2024 form offline so if you are unable to submit it online on the last day, you won't be able to appear in CAT 2024. Also, the earlier you submit the form, the better chances of test centre allotment in preferred city.

Q:   What are the registration dates for CAT 2024?

A:

CAT application process 2024 began from August 1, 2024 at the iimcat.ac.in website. The registration process will end on September 20, 2024.

The schedule of CAT 2024 registration cum application was announced on July28, 2024 at the iimcat.ac.in website. The notification for CAT 2024 was released at the IIMCAT websites and all national newspapers. The last date to submit CAT application form 2024 was September 13, 2024 but was later extended to September 20, 2024.

The CAT application link will be activated at all 21 IIMs as well. Candidates must submit their CAT application form 2024 before the deadline. Candidates must note that the CAT application form is also the form for IIM MBA/PGDM programmes. The field to select IIMs will be mentioned in the CAT form 2024. Candidates are required to choose the IIMs they wish to apply for MBA Admission through CAT score. Candidates will be eligible for admission to only those IIMs that they shall have selected in the CAT application form.

Q:   What is the application process of IIM Mumbai?

A:

IIM Mumbai application process is common to PGDIE, PGDIM, PGDISEM and Fellow programmes. Candidates can also apply for more than one course through online mode only and register themselves on the official admission portal of IIM Mumbai. The application fee for every course is INR 1,000 (INR 500 in the case of SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) for candidates from India and SAARC countries. For international candidates, the application fee is 50 USD 50 along with the bank charges (as applicable). This fee can be paid through a payment gateway. The steps to apply are as follows:

  • Visit the official website of NITIE. On its homepage, click on ‘Programs’ A drop-down menu opens up.
  • Click on the desired programme and further click on ‘Application Process’ against the pop-up that appears against the selected course.
  • Read the given instructions carefully and click on ‘Admission Portal’. The application form opens up.
  • Fill out the application form carefully. Candidates applying for the Fellow programme need to additionally submit a 1,500-word research proposal.
  • Pay the application fee in online mode using a payment gateway through debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

Q:   Is there any fee charged for CAT form correction?

A:

No, the candidates do not have to pay any fee for CAT form correction. The facility is provided to candidates free of cost. However, if they have made an error in a field that will not be available for editing during form correction, then they will have to fill a fresh form before the submission deadline and pay the CAT application fee again. So, candidates must review the CAT application form before submitting to check whether they have filled all the information correctly or not. Once submitted, the form will not be editable but of photo, signature and test city.

Q:   For how long is CAT form correction window usually open?

A:

The CAT form correction window usually opens for 2-3 days. It opens a day after the last date of CAT registration. For example, if the CAT registration 2024 will end on September 13, the form correction window will open on September 14 and close on September 17, 2024.

Only registered candidates, who shall have paid the application fee will be able to access their CAT 2024 application forms to make changes. CAT form correction is a one-time activity so candidates must not miss the chance of updating their photo, signature and changing test city choices if required.

Q:   Can I fill the CAT 2024 registration form before, and submit the fee later?

A:

Yes, you can fill the CAT application form 2024 on one day and pay the fee on another day as it is not mandatory to register for CAT exam and fill the application form or pay the fee in one go. The registration and application window will remain open for the candidate who has registered for the exam and created and ID, until the last date of form submission. The applicant can login in and check/fill/edit the CAT application form anytime during the form filling period. Only the phone number and email ID will not be editable once registration is done. However, candidates need to submit the CAT form and application fee before the deadline to be eligible to appear for the exam. The CAT application form will not be submitted until the fee payment is done. The fee can be paid via debit card, credit card, net banking and UPI wallet.

2. Use valid email ID and mobile phone number for registration: During CAT 2024 registration, make sure you use an email ID and phone number that you are using currently because the OTP for validating CAT registration, user ID and password, and the call letter from the IIMs will be sent to the contact details you share. You will receive all CAT related communication including, notification about CAT 2024 admit cards and CAT 2024 results on the same phone number and email ID. Candidates must note that, there is no provision of changing the contact details once the registration is done.

3. Revise CAT 2024 application form before submitting: Cross checking and verifying every detail furnished on the CAT 2024 application form is very important as every information must be valid and same as mentioned on the documents (birth certificate, marksheets, etc.) because these information will be verified by the institutes at the time of MBA admission. Also, make sure you upload relevant certificates in correct format (is applicable). All the details and certificates will be verified for authenticity and in case there is a discrepancy, the CAT 2024 form can be cancelled. 

Since the CAT application forms cannot be edited after submission, review the inputs before hitting the 'submit' button. Once the application form is submitted, you will have only two options:

  • Wait for the CAT form correction window to open in which you can edit only a few fields like percentage of marks scored, work experience, and programmes selected

OR

  • Fill a new CAT 2024 form using a new phone number and a new email ID

4. Choose your CAT test city wisely: Although, you will be allowed to choose up to six options as your preferred test city for CAT 2024; the actual allotment is subject to availability of seats in that particular centre and city. Also, you will not be allowed to choose the CAT 2024 exam slot (morning, forenoon or afternoon) by yourself. Thus, choose the CAT cities carefully. Your choice of test cities must be the ones which you can visit and ensure a stay, easily on the exam day.

5. Fee submission: CAT 2024 application process will be completed only after successful submission of the application fee. The fee can be paid through debit/credit cards or net-banking. Use a functional debit/credit card, i.e. ensure that it has not crossed the expiry date. Enter all the details for money transaction carefully. Don’t forget to save the acknowledgement/receipt generated on the payment of fees.

6. Upload passport size photo and scanned signature: Your CAT 2024 application submission will be incomplete without uploading of a passport size photo and scanned signature. While filling up the CAT 2024 application form, you will be required to upload a scanned copy of your recent passport sized photo of 1200 pixels x 1200 pixels. The photo should be in only JPEG or JPG format. The file size should be not more than 80 KB. The signature should be clear and on white background and within dimension of 80mm X 35mm. The image should be with a minimum resolution of 150px/inch. If the dimension, format or the size of the photo or signature is wrong, the interface will not accept your CAT 2024 application form.
