CMAT 2024: Dos and don'ts
CMAT exam is conducted in computer based test mode at designated examination centres of the NTA. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam with full security and safety measures. Candidates have to follow certain guidelines prescribed by the NTA for conduct of the exam in a systemic manner without any disruption. CMAT 2024 exam is scheduled on May 15, 2024. The exam will be held in two slots. So now is the time to start preparing for the big day. Candidates must ensure they are well aware of the dos and don’ts of the CMAT exam day as any mistake by the candidate may put their candidature at risk.

The most important ‘do’ for CMAT exam is to reach the test centre at the reporting time mentioned on the CMAT 2024 admit card. And the most important ‘don’t’ is to not cheat or resort to illegal means of appearing in the exam. Read below for more CMAT exam day dos and don’ts.
Q: How can I download CMAT response sheet and answer key?
The CMAT answer key is released by the NTA at the NTA-CMAT website only. Candidates will be able to check it, only if they had appeared for the test. Candidates who applied for CMAT exam but did not appear for it will not be issued the answer key and response sheet. They can check the CMAT question paper and answer key by using their official CMAT login and password. Given below are steps to download the CMAT response sheet are given below:
- Open NTA-CMAT website in a new window
- Click on the tab indicating -Display Question Paper and Answer Key Challenge tab
- Enter CMAT Application Number and Password or Date of Birth Enter security pin and click on login button
- The answer key and response sheet will be displayed
- Click on download icon and save a copy of CMAT answer key PDF on your desktop.
Q: How can I challenge CMAT answer key?
The NTA will allow each CMAT test-taker to challenge the answer key, if they are unsatisfied with the official answer/s. Upon submission of the objections, the exam authorities will examine them and if any objection is found to be valid, they official answer key will be revised. Given below are step of filling up the online application form for challenging CMAT answer key:
- Log on to the official NTA-CMAT website
- Click on CMAT Answer Key/Objection tab
- Enter your CMAT 2024 Application Number and Date of Birth Enter Security Pin and Submit
- All 100 questions for CMAT Paper IDs will appear in sequential order.
- To challenge a question, use the option IDs given against it by clicking the check box.
- Click on Save your Claim and move to next screen.
- All option IDs challenged will be displayed.
- Now, select Choose File option and upload supporting documents in a single pdf file.
- Click on Save your Claim Finally.
- Click on fee payment option - Click here to Pay Fee and pay INR 200 per question through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking.
Q: When does CMAT answer key release?
CMAT answer key is released 3-7 days after the exam. The exact date of CMAT exam answer key release is shared by the NTA in after the exam has been conducted. After the release of CMAT answer key, candidates can assess their performance, by tallying their responses and official answers. They can also challenge the official CMAT answer key, by filling an online form and uploading supporting documents. The NTA-CMAT will examine the objections to see if they are genuine or not. In case, the ojection/s are found to be valid, the CMAT answer key is revised and released as the final answer key. The CMAT result is prepared only after examination of all te objections received from candidates.

CMAT 2023 Dos
- Download and read the advisory given in the CMAT 2024 admit card and strictly adhere to the guidelines.
- Candidates must carry two copies of their admit card (photo affixed on it), a valid ID card and blue ball-point pen. Digital copy of the documents will not be accepted as valid.
- PwD candidates must carry PwD certificate issued by a competent authority
- After entering the CMAT 2024 exam venue, maintain order and follow the instructions given by the test centre staff.
- Inside the examination hall, sit at their designated system and wait for invigilator’s instruction before logging in to the system.
- Candidates will get paper for rough work in the exam hall. They must write their name and roll number on the top of it and must drop it in the designated drop box.
- They must ensure they enter correct application number and date of birth as user ID. Login password will be given to each candidate in the exam hall.
- Drop one copy of the duly filled CMAT 2024 admit card in the designated drop box before leaving the examination centre. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of candidature.
CMAT 2024 Don’ts
- Do not reach the CMAT exam centre late. No candidate will be allowed to take the test once the gates have been closed.
- If you have been alloted the morning slot (9:00 am to 12:00 pm), reach before 8 am.
- If you have been allotted the afternoon shift (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm), reach before 1:30 pm.
- Don’t try to leave the exam hall before the test gets over. No candidate will be allowed to leave the test lab before the announcement for exit has been made.
- Don’t cheat or try unfair means to appear for the test. Any candidate caught doing so will be barred from the exam.
- Do not carry any electronic item to the CMAT exam centre. No phone, watch, earphones, or any such items are prohibited inside the exam venue.
- Do not wear shoes with thick soles and garment with big buttons. Also, do not wear any type of metal jewellery or accessory.
- Do not carry valuables or bags to the exam centre as there will be no bag deposit window at the exam centre.

The CMAT answer key 2025 will contain question-wise correct answers, option chosen by the candidate, marks awarded and marks deducted. With this information, candidates can calculate their raw CMAT score. Some of the important points to remember about CMAT answer key is that it is released in online mode and for a few days only. The CMAT admit card and response sheet is available for download for only two to three days at the NTA-CMAT website. So, candidates must download their respective response sheets on time. The answers printed on the preliminary answer key can be challenged but the final answer key cannot be challenged. The keys printed on the final CMAT answer key are unchallengeable and the exam result is prepared on the basis of the final keys only.
