What is Quantitative Analysis?

Quantitative Analysis, also known as Quantitative Aptitude, is an integral section of any MBA entrance exam. This section compiles questions from Mathematics, including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry and Mensuration. Questions in Quantitative Analysis sections are typically based on topics taught in Class 9 and 10. However, candidates who continued to study Maths after Class 10 are likely to have a better chance of answering the questions correctly.

Almost all MBA entrance exams across India, including CAT, NMAT, CMAT, TS ICET, TANCET, etc., have a Quant section.

Karnataka PGCET Preparation Tips for Quantitative Analysis

Candidates preparing for Quantitative Analysis section of Karnataka PGCET can check the below-mentioned preparation tips for better chances of acing the section.

Master the Basics

The primary thing to consider while preparing for Mathematics or any calculation-based subjects requires the candidates to brush up the basics. Candidates must have conceptual clarity before they hop on to the problems. Refer to the school textbooks, including NCERT or state board Mathematics textbook for Quant preparation. Once the basics are mastered, one must solve the problems in the NCERT textbook, these are among the easiest questions to solve. Once you feel confident, refer to the difficult questions.

Use Shortcuts & Tricks

One of the key ways to meet accuracy and speed at the same time is by using shortcuts. Mathematics has several tricks and hacks to reach the solution in a few seconds. There are several tricks for roots, multiplication, division, percentage, ratio, etc. Once the candidates have mastered the basics, they can go for shortcuts to solve the questions fast with complete accuracy.

Revise Formulas

Primary difficulty while preparing for the Quantitative Analysis section lies in remembering the formulas. Candidates who have a good hold on the formulas will have a better chance of solving the questions easily. Knowing the formula is the first step toward solving the problems. Test takers will not be able to solve the easiest problem without knowing the formula.

Prepare Quantitative Analysis Keeping the Schedule intact

Candidates preparing for the Quant section must keep hold of the time. Preparation for the topics under Quantitative Analysis will be never enough as one can practice as many questions as possible. Therefore, candidates must evaluate the number of days left for the exam and plan the days for a particular section accordingly. There is no sectional cutoff in Karnataka PGCET; therefore, candidates must also focus on other sections of the exam. Candidates are always advised to look for Karnataka PGCET preparation tips while planning out the strategy.

Also Read:

Attempt Mock Tests

To better evaluate their performance, candidates must attempt as many mock tests as possible. Mock tests provide a simulation of the actual exam. With the limit on time, candidates will be able to feel the stress of answering all questions within time. This would help them better evaluate where they stand. IF the candidates do not have access to mock tests, they can use the Karnataka PGCET question papers and start a timer to end the exam within 120 minutes.
