You made some mistakes, but that's not the end of life. I realised my mistakes on the exam day and therefore, prepared better for my other exams.

SNAP is a difficult exam for anyone to crack and get a good score. And to be true, I have had a really bad experience with SNAP. I went in for the exam all focused and something happened, and I still think it was my worst performance as compared to the other ones. What hurt me was that I did work hard for the exam. I gave all the mocks that were possible. I read all GK I could get my hands on and I still could not perform on the exam day. Now after I analysed what happened, I realised that I did silly mistakes and that was something which took away my chance with SNAP. The very first thing that I did wrong was that I took the exam lightly. There were certain concepts that I thought I knew by heart and therefore did not revise on the exam day. Another thing was that I did not take the time in consideration on the exam day. I missed out on deadlines that I decided for the exam day.

Now, it was very naive of me to prepare casually for such an important exam which turned out to be a setback for me and when the results were out, I was not surprised. Now some would consider this as a failure, but it was a lesson for the rest of my life. Instead of lingering upon something that I did wrong, I now focus on how I could have avoided the mistakes. Deal with it. You made some mistakes, but that's not the end of life. I realised my mistakes on the exam day and therefore, prepared better for my other exams.

Even if you have scored low on the exam, you need to look out for colleges that are available at your percentile. Evaluate each of the college available to you. Now there can be certain grounds which will help you to decide which college you want. Some of them that I think are important are listed below:

  1. Your interest in the course provided by the college
  2. The average package
  3. Companies visiting the campus
  4. Profiles offered by the companies
  5. Visiting frequency of good companies
  6. Acceptable percentile

Now, this is not an exhaustive list. There could be several criteria for you to evaluate your options, but these are some key points. Points related to the package and companies are intertwined and must be considered together.

And one thing that would help you improve is giving as many mock tests as possible. Mocks will help you grow confident about the exam and thus would be critical in keeping your calm. But, mock tests work only when you evaluate them properly.

A XAT percentile of 7.2471 is approximately equivalent to a score of 17-18 out of 100. This score is below the typical cutoff for most top MBA colleges that accept XAT scores. For instance, institutions like XLRI Jamshedpur and MICA Ahmedabad generally require a minimum percentile of 85-90 for cons

There are no non-MCQs in XAT. All the questions are in MCQ format with four options to choose the correct answer from.  There are neither Type in the Answer and nor subjective answer type questions. Earlier, there used to be essay writing which required candidates to type a short essay on screen.
