There are many advantages of solving the previous year’s NEET PG question papers and the most important one is that this exercise gives a major boost to the confidence level before the exam. Q:   How many questions are asked in NEET PG exam?

A:

NEET PG exam comprises of 200 multiple choice questions with each question having 4 response options in English language only. Candidates are required to select the correct/best/most appropriate response/answer out of the 4 response options provided in each question. Time allotted is 3 hrs 30 minutes. There is a provision of negative marking in the exam. In the wake of negative marking, candidates are advised to attempt only those questions where they have full confidence of correct answer. Otherwise negative marks may outweigh your overall score. 

Q:   I marked two answers for a question in NEET PG. One of the answers is correct. Will I get full marks for this question?

A:

Candidates can't  mark more than one answer as NEET PG is computer-based exam. Moreover, in the official information brochure, there is no mention of whether candidate will be deducted marks or not for marking two options. NEET PG 2025 exam pattern will be released by National Board of Examinations (NBE). The exam is conducted in computer-based mode. Candidates are provided total 3.5 hours to answer the question paper.

2. Time management and speed

As NEET PG is one of the toughest exams, candidates must not leave any stone unturned to answer the maximum correct response in the NEET PG 2024 exam. Candidates are provided 210 minutes to solve 200 questions in the exam that implies that they get around 1.05 minutes for each question. With more practise of previous year’s question paper of NEET PG, candidates get a better hold on speed and management of time. They get to learn to answer maximum questions in the given time. 

3. Accuracy

Another important thing is to maintain accuracy while answering questions in NEET PG 2024 exam. There is a provision of negative marking in the exam that implies that for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted from the total. Solving NEET PG question papers, candidates get an idea of how to manage accuracy in the exam. Candidates should aim for answering maximum questions with accuracy, that’s very important.

Q:   Do candidates need to answer every question in NEET PG 2024?

A:

No, candidates should answer only those questions where they feel confident about the right answer. The reason being there is a provision of negative marking in the NEET PG 2024 exam. Candidates are advised to choose not to answer rather than marking wrong option. Negative score may take a toll on overall score of a candidate. 

Q:   What type of questions are asked in NEET PG?

A:

Objective questions are asked in NEET PG exam. The type of the question is multiple choice where one question can have multiple answers. keeping this in mind, candidates have to select best option of correct response. According to NEET PG pattern, a total of 200 questions are asked and candidates get 3.5 hours to answer them. There is a provision of negative marking in NEET PG exam. For every correct reponse, +4 mark is awarded while for incorrect reponse, -1 will be deducted. 

Q:   Does NBE release question paper for NEET PG?

A:

No. NBE doesn't release the official question paper for NEET PG exam. Candidates are not allowed to reveal the content of the test paper as they have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) while applying for the exam. Hence, the exact questions asked in the examination can’t be identified. However, some coaching institutes release question paper based on memory of  exam-taking students. "The contents of this exam are confidential, proprietary and are owned by NBEMS. NBEMS explicitly prohibits the candidate, from reproducing, transmitting or publishing any or some contents of this exam, : the official brochure says.

Q:   Will marks be deducted for unanswered questions in NEET PG?

A:

No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions as per the existing NEET PG pattern. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating marks of a candidate. Candidates are advised to attempt only those questions where they are confident of right answer. If there is iota of doubt of correct answer, candidates are advised to leave that question. Otherwise, negative marking may reduce your total score which will ultimately impact your overall performance.

 

4. Better prepared for the exam day

Another advantage of solving NEET PG previous papers is that candidates become habitual of solving questions and exam paper doesn’t come as a surprise to them. These NEET PG question and mock test papers are designed like a replica of the actual test papers with the same number of questions and time. Candidates are advised to solve these papers in the same manner like they will be appearing in the actual exam. They should appear for these test papers in a single sitting and try to solve the paper in 3.5 hours. This practice gives a major boost to their confidence level before the D-day. Candidates get a better hold on every aspect prior to the exam.

5. Evaluation of performance and preparation strategy

After finishing the NEET PG 2024 syllabus, candidates are advised to solve as many as NEET PG 2024 mock test and previous year’s NEET PG question papers. This helps them to analyse their performance.
