Q:   Can I get admission in a Nursing course on the basis of NEET scores?

A:

Yes, BSc Nursing course admission is conducted through NEET scores for certain colleges. Hence, if you are planning to pursue Nursing courses, then you can appear for NEET. While filling the NEET application form, you need to select the courses or colleges. If you qualify for the exam by securing the cutoff marks, and be eligible for the counselling process, there you have to select the Nursing courses or colleges which you are vying for. However, a few top colleges or institutes are still conducting their own Nursing entrance exams, such as AIIMS, PGIMER, KGMU, to name a few.

Q:   What is the selection process for MBBS and what is the minimum NEET score required?

A:

For the year 2023, the minimum NEET scores needed were 720-137 for the general category and 136-107 for the OBC and SC/ST categories. It is not possible to enrol in most Indian universities directly through walk-in, including medical institutes. There must be a proper application procedure and requirements for eligibility. The application procedure usually entails filling out an online form, registering, adding supporting documentation, paying a fee, and submitting the form.

Candidates are shortlisted by universities based on their academic standing, admission exam results, and other pertinent criteria. The people who made the short list may additionally be contacted for interviews or counselling. The results of the entrance exam, academic standing, and, if relevant, the counselling or interview performance are taken into consideration for determining final admissions.

Q:   What is the selection process for MBBS and what is the minimum NEET score required in Medical college?

A:

The selection process for MBBS admissions in India involves the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), which is the mandatory entrance exam for MBBS and BDS programs. Candidates must score above the minimum cutoff percentile set by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to qualify for the next stage. Admissions are divided into two quotas: All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota, with AIQ accounting for 15% of seats and the remaining 85% allocated to the state quotas. Candidates register for counseling based on their NEET scores and preferences, which involves multiple rounds of seat allocation based on merit and preferences. Some seats may be reserved under the institutional quota and management quota, with different admission criteria. The minimum NEET score required for MBBS admissions varies from year to year, and it is advisable to check the latest NEET cutoff percentiles released by the NTA.

Q:   What are the expected marks and rank in NEET 2023 for good colleges like AIIMS?

A:
A score of 650+ can get you a seat at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) Delhi. A score of 635+ can get you a seat in any medical college in Delhi. 610+ score can get you a seat in top colleges, like IMS, BHU, Seth GS, and GMC Chandigarh.
