Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?

A:

The JEE Main exam will have a total of 75 questions from all three subjects. The exam will have 25 questions each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 will be multiple choice questions and 5 will be questions with numerical value answers. Students need to answer all 5 numerical value type questions. Also all 20 multiple choices questions are compulsory and no choice is provided in them. Students need to complete all the 75 questions in 3 hours.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?

A:

Yes, it is compulsory to attempt all the question in exam. Students need to attempt a total of 75 questions in the exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which they can arrive at the answer/solutions. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left as incorrect answer would lead to negative marking. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   What is the weightage of chapters in JEE exam?

A:
Physics- 1. Optics 2. Magnetism mixed with mechanics 3. Rotational dynamics 4. Heat and thermodynamics 5 experiments and errors Chemistry - 1. Inorganic Chemistry (most scoring) 2. Organic chemistry 3. Atomic structure (one question for sure) 4. Equilibrium Mathematics - 1. Coordinate geometry (most important parabola) 2. Calculus (application of derivatives most important) 3. Trignometry (was the toughest for me) Most of the questions are usually asked from these topics. Getting a good hold of these topics can get you rank under 1000 in JEE adv. Hope this helps.
