AFCAT Shift Timings 2024: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is conducting AFCAT 2 2024 exam on August 9, 10 and 11, 2024. The admit card was made available on July 24, 2024. The exam is conducted in two shifts-morning and afternoon. According to the AFCAT shift timings, the exam time for the morning session is 9.45 am to 11.45 am. The exam time for the afternoon session is 2.45 pm to 4.45 pm. Read below for more details on AFCAT shift timings.

AFCAT Shift Timings 2024: Indian Air Force (IAF) is conducting the AFCAT 2 2024 exam till August 11, 2024 across various cities spread throughout the country in two shifts. According to the AFCAT shift timings, the exam for the morning shift is conducted from 9.45 am to 11.45 am. The AFCAT 2 2024 exam for the afternoon shift is conducted from 2.45 pm to 4.45 pm. According to the AFCAT exam pattern, the test lasts two hours with no sectional timings. The subjects included in the test are General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. The total marks allotted to AFCAT exam are 300. The details related to the AFCAT shift timings are mentioned in AFCAT admit card.

It is advised to reach AFCAT exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card to complete the pre-exam verification process. The pre-verification process for Shft 1 is done from 7.30 am to 9.30 am whereas it is done from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm for Shift 2. In case of any delay, candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam. Q:   What is the procedure of training of newly appointed Officers through AFCAT exam?

A:

Training of newly appointed officers is conducted at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad). The duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments. Candidates are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition to adapt to physical training at AFA that encompasses running, swimming, rope climbing and other forms of physical training in which they are required to undergo mandatory tests during the training. Candidates should keep themselves fit by following the below-mentioned routine: Running upto 4 kms in 5 minutes Skipping Push-ups & Sit-ups minimum 20 each Chin ups: 8 Rope Climbing: 3 to 4 meters Swimming (25 m). 

Q:   What are the items prohibited at the AFCAT exam centre?

A:
Candidates are not allowed to carry certain items inside AFCAT exam centre. The following items are prohibited inside the exam centre premises: Blue tooth device, communication/ electronic/ digital/ wireless devices such as calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, pager, organizer, personal digital assistant (PDA), concealed microphone or camera, earphones, radio, headset, walkman, recorder, translator, etc. Pencil-box, book, geometry box, paper, log tables, clip board, slide rule, etc. Personal items such as wristwatch/wristband, bracelets, handbags, ornaments, wallet, purse, head gear, scarf, goggles, jacket, eatables items, etc. Candidates are frisked by the exam centre officials before they are given entry to the exam centre. Candidates carrying these barred items need to deposit those at the entry. They can carry those while exiting the exam centre.

Q:   What is the dress code for AFCAT exam?

A:
AFCAT is one of the most sought-after defence exam in the country. The exam is conducted to select eligible candidates as gazetted officers in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. As it is the important defence exam in the country, therefore, the examination authority prescribes dress for candidates appearing in the exam. The guidelines related to dress code are given below: Candidates need to wear slippers/sandals with flat heels Closed footwear such as shoes is not allowed in the exam centre Clothes with large buttons are not permitted. Candidates wearing attire for religious purpose will be thoroughly frisked Candidates colour photograph will be taken during verification process. Candidates are required to put the thumb impression on the admit card in advance (at home) before proceeding to the examination centre and to sign on the same in front of the invigilators Candidates will be allowed to leave the exam hall after completion of AFCAT/EKT For rough work, A4 size sheet will be kept at each candidate's desk. Additional sheets will be provided to candidates on demand. Candidates are required to write name and particulars on the rough sheets and drop the same in the drop box/handover to the staff before leaving the exam hall.

AFCAT reporting timings highlight the time when candidates need to reach the exam centre for the pre-verification process. AFCAT reporting time for Shift 1 is 7.30 am whereas it is 12.30 for Shift 2. The shift-wise reporting timings are given below.

A:
Candidates need to follow the guidelines laid down by the examination authority on the day of AFCAT exam. The examination authority prescribes the exam day guidelines in terms of reporting time, shift-wise exam timings, items allowed inside the exam centre, items not allowed inside the exam centre, COVID-19 related guidelines, etc. There are dos that candidates need to follow on the day of AFCAT exam day, check below for more details: Candidates are required to report to the exam centre in batches from 07:30 am onwards (for first Shift) and 12:30 pm onwards (for second Shift) as per the time slot mentioned in the admit card Candidates are required to put only the thumb impression on the admit card in advance, before proceeding to the exam centre. AFCAT Exam Day Guidelines 2024

AFCAT exam day guidelines are prescribed by IAF. In the exam day guidelines, candidates can check the documents required along with the admit card, items that are allowed and prohibited, dress code, etc. Given below are the AFCAT exam day guidelines 2024.

  1. Candidates need to carry the following photo-identity proofs along with the AFCAT admit card:
  • PAN card
  • Adhaar Card
  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • Voter Identity Card
  • College Identity Card (or any other valid photo identity proof that mentions - name, father’s name, date of birth, and a clear photograph)
  1. Candidates must bring two colour photographs the same as the one uploaded during online application 
  2. Candidates must carry a blue or black ballpoint pen for rough work and to sign the attendance sheet
  3. The following items are prohibited inside the exam centre:
  • Textual material
  • Calculators
  • Docupen
  • Slide rulers & log tables

AFCAT Exam Pattern 2024

Exams for the AFCAT and EKT are conducted in online mode. Candidates who choose the Ground Duty (Technical) branch must take the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). The question paper is set in English only. AFCAT exam has 100 questions in total, while the EKT exam has 50 questions. Candidates are given two hours to complete the AFCAT paper and 45 minutes to complete the EKT. Questions from the General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude tests are included in the AFCAT test paper. EKT includes questions from Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, and Computer Science. EKT carries 150 marks whereas AFCAT carries 300 marks. The structure of AFCAT exam pattern is given below.
