CTET 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam in 2025. The CTET exam will be held tentatively in June - July 2025. Eligible candidates will have to register online and submit an online application form for the CTET 2025 exam. Candidates seeking recruitment as primary teachers or elementary teachers in Central Government schools need to appear for the CTET exam to obtain the eligibility certificate. Q:   What are CTET qualifying marks for the OBC category?

A:
The CTET qualifying marks for the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category is 55 per cent. OBC candidates need to obtain 82 marks out of the total 150 marks to qualify the exam. A 81 mark scorer OBC candidate will fail to clear the exam.

Q:   What are CTET passing marks for the SC and ST categories?

A:
The CTET passing marks for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories is 55 per cent. The SSC & ST categories candidates need to obtain 82 out of the total 150 marks to qualify the exam and obtain the eligibility Certificate.

The CTET eligibility criteria differ for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Some of the basic requirements to fulfil CTET eligibility criteria for Paper 1 is passing 12 examinations with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks and Paper 2 is completing graduation with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks. Candidates should go through the detailed eligibility criteria before filling out the CTET application form.

Q:   What is the pay scale for CTET qualified teachers?

A:
The pay scale of the CTET-qualified teachers typically ranges from INR 9,300 to INR 34,800. Candidates who qualify the CTET exam become eligible to apply for teacher recruitment process in schools such as KVS, NVS and others. The CTET-qualified candidates are awarded the Certificate through which they can apply for recruitment and start getting a decent salary.

Q:   How can I apply for CTET exam?

A:

Candidates can fill the CTET online form by following the given steps.

  • Visit the official website- ctet.nic.in.
  • Click on Apply for CTET link.
  • For new users, click on the "New Registration" button to register yourself. If not, enter your information and click the "Sign In" button.
  • Fill in the required credentials like the candidate's name, mother's name, father's name, date of birth, etc.
  • Choose the exam centre and medium of instruction
  • Enter your Aadhar card number or PAN, choose gender and category, select the status of employment, and fill in the status of the qualifying exam.
  • Now fill out the educational details. Enter your communication address, phone number, and email address.
  • Upload a photo and your signature.
  • Now the page will redirect to the payment.
  • Make payment through Credit Card/Debit Card/E-Challan Click the "Submit" button.
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page for your records.

Q:   How many times can a candidate apply for the CTET exam?

A:

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the exam. This means that candidates can apply and appear for the exam as many times as they want irrespective of whether they cleared the paper in the last cycle. Candidates can also attempt the CTET paper again to improvise their exam score.

Q:   Is there any upper age limit to appear for the CTET exam?

A:
No, there is no upper age limit to take the CTET exam. Candidates above 18 years of age can apply for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a national-level eligibility exam conducted by the CBSE. Candidates should satisfy their eligibility before applying for the exam. Candidates shall be personally responsible in case they are not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It may be noted that if a candidate has been permitted to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, it does not imply that his or her eligibility has been verified. Candidate's eligibility shall be finally verified by the concerned recruiting or appointing authority.

CTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the CTET eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. The CTET eligibility 2025 in terms of education qualification and age limit is shared below:

CTET Eligibility 2025: Paper 1

Candidates need to fulfil any one of the given eligibility criteria for CTET Paper 1:

  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing a minimum of 45 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration). OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a BEd.

CTET Eligibility 2025: Paper 2

Candidates need to fulfil any one of the given eligibility criteria for CTET Paper 2:

  • Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
  • Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appeared in the final year exam of BEd. OR
  • Graduation degree with 40 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of BEd, according to NCTE regulations. OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR
  • Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in BEd program of 1-year duration.
