Q2: When did you start preparing for CUET and what was the strategy?
Vansh: I started my CUET preparation in April just after my board exams as I was not aware of how important these exams were. I used to study for 2-3 hours at the start mainly focusing on my weak area which was English and then gradually increased the grinding hours as the CUET UG exam was approaching.
Q: What is the CUET marking scheme?
Q: Is there a negative marking in CUET?
Yes. There is a negative marking in the CUET exam. For each wrong answer, one mark is deducted. Negative marking will not be applicable in case of unattempted questions. The marking scheme as per NTA is given below.
i. Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
ii. Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
iii. Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
iv. If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
v. If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
vi. If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.
Q: Can CUET normalisation reduce marks?
CUET normalisation procss refers to a process of adjusting scores to account for variations in difficulty between different sessions of CUET exam. The aim is to ensure fairness and equity among students who may have taken different sessions of the same exam.
The normalization process shouldn't inherently reduce marks for students. Instead, it aims to adjust scores in a way that maintains the integrity and validity of the assessment. CUET Normalization might involve scaling scores, adjusting grade boundaries, or applying statistical techniques to ensure that the difficulty level of the assessment doesn't disadvantage any particular group of students.
Q3: What were your strong and weak areas?
Vansh: My strong area was my domain subjects which were Accounts, Business Studies, Economics and Maths but my weak area was English.
Q4: Which books did you refer to for CUET? Have you taken any coaching for CUET preparation?
Vansh: I enrolled in an institute for preparation but in reality, it didn't help me because of extensive coaching classes. I further started studying on Youtube which helped me a lot and I scored 200/200 in 3 subjects in CUET result.
Q5: What was your exam-taking strategy?
Vansh: My strategy was mainly to focus on my weak areas daily and to give my spare time to my domain subjects. I used to study English daily for 2 hours and domain for 1 or 2 hours.

Yes, students from outside Delhi are eligible to apply. However, each programme has a certain number of seats reserved for non-Delhi candidates, usually 6 to 10 seats depending on the course. This ensures fair access to education for both local and non-local students.
