Low Score in CUET: CUET 2025 result will likely be announced in the last week of July 2025. CUET UG exam is very competitive because of the number of students who appear for the exam. This competitive nature of the exam may make the students appearing for the CUET exam 2025 a bit anxious. Having a low score in CUET can be disheartening, but it is not the end of the road. Several constructive steps can be taken to improve the situation at hand and enhance the chances of securing admission to the preferred college or course.

After the declaration of the CUET result 2025, all the colleges or universities release the course-wise passing marks or CUET cutoff, which is used for shortlisting students for admission to various UG courses. CUET Results 2025: Knowing Low Scores and CUET Passing Marks

To know if the student has passed the CUET exam, they need to check the CUET passing marks released by the participating college or university. According to the CUET exam analysis, a score of 500-650 marks can be considered a good score in CUET UG. Candidates scoring above 700 may fall in the category of 98-99 percentile and such aspirants have higher chances of getting admission in courses such as BTech, BA LLB, BCom (Hons), etc, at some of the top colleges and universities in India such as Delhi University (DU), BHU (Banaras Hindu University), JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University), Ambedkar University, etc. Also, a score below 200 can be considered a low score in the CUET 2025 exam. Such a score may grant admission to undergraduate courses such as BA, BA (Hons), BSc and BSc (Hons) courses in private and state universities. However, it is essential to know exactly what is considered a low score depends on the course and college that the student is applying to as each university has its own CUET cutoff criteria.

A score between the range of 400-600 can be regarded as an average score in the CUET 2025 exam. Students with such scores will likely secure admission to good colleges in India. The passing marks for CUET 2025 in the University of Delhi are set by Delhi University itself. Additionally, colleges affiliated with DU have the autonomy to determine their individual cutoff criteria based on the CUET result 2025. The passing marks for DU can vary, but, the cutoff of some of the top colleges such as Hindu College, Lady Shri Ram College, Gargi College, Miranda House, Shri Ram College of Commerce, etc. can go above 700 in CUET 2025.

Q:   What are the factors affecting CUET cut off for DU?

A:

Multiple factors affecting CUET cut off for DU, include:

  • CUET UG 2023 normalised marks

  • Total number of seats available for admission

  • Category of the candidate

  • Type of course or college chosen by the candidate

  • Previous year’s cut off marks

  • Difficulty of the CUET UG exam

Q:   How can I access the CUET UG cut off list?

A:

Students can access the CUET UG cut off list only after the cut offs are released by the CUET UG participating universities. The following steps should be followed to access the CUET cut off list of universities candidate is desirous to take admission in.

  • Visit the official website of the applied and participating institutes
  • On the homepage, click on the link to the current academic session CUET Cut Off
  • A new login page will open on screen. Enter the credentials and submit
  • Now, you can access the CUET UG cut off list when released

The above steps will be applicable only if instittues release the CUET UG cut offs. Otherwise, if the institutes release merit lists carrying their scores, then the minimum score would be considered as the CUET UG cut off. Universities like Delhi University does not released CUET cut off. Candidates will know the college/course allocated on the basis of the preferences filled by the candidate while filling the application form.

Q:   When will NTA release CUET UG cutoff?

A:

Once the CUET results are declared, the socres are shared with the participating universities and role of NTA ends with the declaration of results. CUET UG 2024 cutoff will be released by the CUET participtaing universities seperatley. Candidates will be able to check the course wise and category wise cutoff.

Q:   How is CUET normalized score calculated?

A:

The CUET (Common University Entrance Test) normalised scores are derived through a systematic process that ensures fairness across different testing sessions. Here’s a detailed breakdown of how these scores are calculated:

  1. Raw Marks Collection: Initially, each candidate's raw marks are collected after they complete the exam. These marks represent the number of correct answers each candidate achieved.

  2. Percentile Calculation: For each candidate, their percentile is calculated based on how their raw marks compare to those of other candidates who took the exam in the same session. This percentile indicates the relative standing of a candidate among their peers within that specific session.

  3. Session Equating: The process involves multiple testing sessions that may occur over several days for the same subject. The percentiles calculated for each session are then equated to ensure consistency in scoring across all sessions.

  4. Normalisation Process: After equating the percentiles, they are converted into normalised marks. This step helps to standardise scores across varying exam conditions and candidate populations.

  5. Handling Smaller Sessions: In instances where a session has a limited number of candidates, those scores are aggregated with larger sessions. This clubbing ensures that every candidate's performance is compared against a more substantial and diverse group, leading to a more reliable and equitable normalised score.

Exploring alternative colleges or courses that accept lower scores or have more lenient CUET cut-offs can also be considered. Additionally, the aspirant may opt for other UG entrance exams or consider applying to colleges based on merit or management quotas.
