It is a dream college for research-minded students.
Placements: As IISER Mohali is a research institute, students generally don't join to get salary packages or jobs. They come to gain knowledge and do research. Almost 80% of the students get a PhD in world's reputed institutes like MIT, Stanford University, Howard University, etc. In our senior batch, 136 students out of 174 students got a PhD abroad. Remaining students are doing their PhD in top institutes of India like IISC Bangalore, TIRF, IITs, CSIR, etc.
Infrastructure: IISERs are the youngest institutes of India, so its infrastructure is built with modern technology. Hostels are new and have 8 floors with 4 lifts in a single hostel. Every area of the campus is covered with excellent Wi-Fi signals, and speed of Wi-Fi reaches up to 300 Mbps. Every hostel has its own mess operated by its own caterers. So at one time, you can get 4 different menus for food. Food of every mess is tasty. It has a modern football stadium, 4 badminton courts, basketball court, tennis court and 2 volleyball courts. It has its own hospital for medical facilities, and its doctors are well-experienced.
Faculty: Every professor is an active scientist here. They are also doing research parallel to teaching. Along with the course material, they also tell their students about their research in their fields. The course is well-designed, and students in their 1st two years have to learn every scientific field. In these two years fields, they get interested, and they can choose their major from the next year.
Other: IISER has annual fest event named Insomnia. It is 3 days long event. In this event, students from many neighbourhood colleges come to enjoy. IISER Mohali, along with KVPY and inspire, has its own scholarship for students of poor background. It also offers a full tuition fee waiver for SC, ST and PWD students.

College is your type if you are an aspiring scientist.
Placements: The placement environment here is not yet developed, though there is an opportunity cell that handles all this, which is also quite new. Moreover, most students after graduation from here pursue Ph.D. and postdoctoral studies, and for these, IISER Mohali provides good exposure and ample opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is satisfactory. Wi-Fi works fine, and the labs are nice. Lecture halls are very nice with good lighting, air conditioning, projectors, etc. Food is fine, in my opinion. The breakfast is very good but sometimes they serve very bad-tasting food in lunch or dinner. There are 2 canteens run by private vendors, one food outlet in lecture hall complex ("munching adda"), 2 restaurant-type outlets ( or dhaba-type outlets in shopping complex) and one canteen run by student mess committee. Medical facilities are fine, and there is also all-time availability of ambulance. We have a very big sports complex with big stadium-type ground, nets, and basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts (2 each) One gym and one open gym are also .
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified. All of them have done their Ph.D.s and postdocs from some of the most prestigious institutes in India and abroad. course curriculum is relevant for research. No, it doesn't make you industry-ready. You have to work yourself if you want to make a career in industry. Difficulty depends on the instructor. However, since relatively strict grading is followed, most students pass the courses .

The college is excellent and value for money.
Placements: Very less percentage of students want to go for a job, and others go for a PhD. The salary package offered is 17 to 2.4 crores per annum. Lake and Amazon are the top recruiters. More than 80% of the students get internships every year here or in various parts of the world. The course is intense in basic science and provides an ample amount of knowledge with research experience.
Infrastructure: All the rooms don't get proper Wi-Fi signal, but it doesn't matter a lot. There are study rooms in the hostel as well as in the academic building where you can study. Food is average but not that great in the mess. Canteen and other places serve good food comparatively.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well-qualified. Teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is relevant to the field of science, and it prepares them for a future science research career. The industry is not a priority for students here, but if they want, they can go for it.
Other: I have chosen this course because I wanted to become a physicist. If things would be better, then we can get more time to take in the amount of information. We have inter IISER sports meet and fests every year with lots of clubs.

Best College for Research and the worst if you are here by mistake.
Placements: Talking about placement, there are no such cells for this. People find it on their own, and they go for Higher Studies like PhD and Post Doc etc. If we talk about the internship, there are a lot of opportunities for students here, from Microsoft to Mercedes Benz, you can apply anywhere.
Infrastructure: Co-ed Hostel with full Wi-Fi support and for the first 2 years two students live together in single room and from 3rd year onwards they get separate single room. Mess system available, 3 mess you can eat in any of them on pay and eat basis. Health center is there, all the sports facilites and gym is also there.
Faculty: Teacher are highly efficient, all of them are from a great background. But teaching quality is something which varies from person to person. The course curriculum is very good but the semester time period is less so kind of little difficult and more semester stress.
Other: I'm pursuing physics because I wanted to go for further higher studies in the quantum field, which is something fantasising me from so long. I just want that college should increase their seats for more students engagement. We all have lots of events around the year but the only problem is the crowd, we have fewer seats also leading to less public engagements and everything.
