Really good ambience and beautiful scenic view.
Placements: The course has 42 seats, but campus placements are not provided for this department. Only a few students pursue internships, primarily on their own. Despite the lack of placement support, the department offers quality education, and the teachers are highly interactive and engaging.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department is average and requires improvement. There are no dedicated classrooms for photography or proper storage for artworks. Additionally, there is no display board for showcasing art during exams. However, the hostel facilities are commendable, although the food quality is average.
Faculty: The faculty members are supportive, helpful, and approachable, encouraging open communication. The curriculum is relevant and prepares students for industry roles. Semester exams are not particularly difficult, and the majority of students clear them successfully.

If you want to succeed, then admission is essential.
Placements: Ten students were placed in my course. The highest package is 20 lakh per annum, the lowest is 4 lakh per annum, and the average is 12 lakh per annum. The top recruiting company is IBM. The top roles include graphic designer, art director, artist, multimedia artist, and art teacher. Overall, placements are good, and the packages are very good.
Infrastructure: Facilities include 24/7 electricity, a peaceful place, and no ragging. The classrooms are also good, and the Wi-Fi is fast. The labs and library are good and peaceful. The hostel is not good, but I will manage. Food is available in the mess on time, and the medical facilities are good.
Faculty: The quality and qualifications of the teachers are top-notch. They are very intelligent and teach politely. Forty percent of students pass the semester exams, while sixty percent have backlogs in some subjects. This is not an issue, as students can pass anyway because of family support for success.

A:
{Source: M.A. students & alumni}

Pros:

* Good faculty: The professors are knowledgeable and passionate about their subject, making classes engaging and informative.
* Relevant curriculum: The course covers a wide range of topics related to Manipuri language, literature, history, and culture, providing a solid foundation for research, teaching, and cultural preservation.
* Well-maintained infrastructure: The university has modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational facilities, ensuring a conducive environment for learning.
* Placements: While the placement record may not be outstanding, some students have secured jobs in government organizations, educational institutions, and media outlets.

Cons:

* Limited placement opportunities: Companies rarely visit the campus for recruitment, and students may need to rely on their own efforts to secure a job.
* Low stipend for interns: Internships are available, but the stipend is relatively low (Rs. 8,000 - Rs. 10,000 per month).
* Older hostels: The hostels could use renovation, according to some students.
* Food quality issues: Some students reported inconsistent food quality in the mess.

Overall Assessment:
While Assam University's M.A. programme in Manipuri Language and Literature has its strengths, such as good faculty and infrastructure, the lack of placement opportunities and low stipend for interns may deter some students.
