The CAT exam is always conducted on the last Sunday of November every year so the CAT 2024 exam will be conducted on November 24, 2024. Official announcement of the CAT 2024 exam date will be made by the convening IIM on July 30, 2024. Calcutta University admission for PG course is based on various nation-level entrance exams such as CAT/ MAT for MBA course. Additionally, WB JECA is required for admission to the MCA course. Candidates must take the course-specific entrance exam to become eligible for admission to the desired PG course. 

In order to get admission at Calcutta University, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for particular courses. The University has not released the 2023 placement statistics yet. However, the NIRF report 2023 has been released. As per the report, 652 UG, 4,342 PG, and 32 integrated PG students were placed during Calcutta University placements 2022. The median package for UG (3-year) courses was INR 9.17 LPA. For BTech and BA LLB courses, the median package stood at INR 9.20 LPA and INR 7.84 LPA, respectively. For PG courses, the median package offered during University of Calcutta placements 2022 ranged between INR 5.40 LPA and INR 9.80 LPA.
