As per the NIRF 2024 ranking under the “Engineering” category, IIIT Delhi ranks 85 among the top Engineering institutes of the country. The total fee for MTech in IIIT Delhi ranges between INR 3.7 lakh and INR 6 lakh. NIT Trichy MTech fee is INR 1.4 lakh. As per placement statistics, the median package is recorded to be INR 18.17 LPA for IIITD and INR 7 LPA for NIT Trichy. Hence, it can be concluded that the fee is higher at IIITD. It must be noted that the fee given for both institutes is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative. The institute has released its 2023 placement statistics. The highest domestic package offered during IIIT Delhi  M.Tech placements 2023 stood at INR 51.03 LPA. Other than this, the average package offered was INR 20.66 LPA. Moreover, a total of 156 companies participated in the placements drive. An increase of nearly 19% in the average domestic package offered during M.Tech placements in 2023 as compared with 2022 was also recorded. 

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply by visiting IIIT Delhi official website. Admission to the MTech CSE, ECE, and CB is based on GATE score. For CB course, selected candidates have to go through an online interview round as well. Moreover, for the MTech CB DBT seats, aspirants are selected based on GAT-B exam scores followed by an interview round. Additionally, for MTech (Research) course admission, PGCAT-IIIT Delhi exam score is accepted following which candidates have to go through an offline interview round. For some of the seats, aspirants are selected on merit-basis.

Candidates with a valid BE/BTech (all branches) degree or PG Degree in Science/Mathematics/IT/Computers/MCA from a recognised university can apply for admission. It is further also necessary that the candidate passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 65% aggregate for admission to CSE, ECE, and CB MTech courses. Additionally, for MTech (Research) in CSE, aspirants shall have secured at least 75% aggregate (5% relaxation to reserved categories).

The aspirants who fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements can register and apply for admission. Eligible candidates can submit their application through the IIIT Delhi official website (iiitd.ac.in). The application procedure involves online registration, form filling, document upload, and application fee payment. Candidates shall ensure that they submit the application within the due date. Candidates have to complete entrance exams applications such as GATE Application Process and GAT-B application process, separately.

The cutoff is released for every counselling round. As per the data collected from external sources, for M.Tech CSE in IIIT Delhi, candidates with a GATE score of above 60 and for ECE, a score above 65 shall be good enough to get selected. Yes, admission to a MTech course is IIIT Delhi is accepted without GATE score. However, it depends upon the chosen specialisation. GATE score is mandatory for the MTech CB course admission. However, admission to MTech CSE and ECE programmes is done based on merit in GATE, plus PGCAT-IIITD exam scores are also accepted. Additionally, for the MTech CB (DBT seats) admission, the selection is done based on GAT-B score.
