IMU CET 2025 Application Form: The Indian Maritime University (IMU) will start the IMU CET registrations 2025 in March 2025. Candidates can access the IMUCET registration link on this page below and the official website, imu.edu.in. The IMU CET application form is made available in online mode only. Candidates have to apply for IMU CET 2025 for admission to BSc, BTech, UG Diploma, MTech, MBA, PhD courses offered at IMU campuses and IMU affiliated colleges. Before applying for IMU CET, candidates must check IMU CET eligibility criteria for the course they wish to take admission to. The IMU CET registration process includes filling out personal details, academic details, uploading scanned documents and paying the application fee online. IMU CET application form 2025 is only released online on the official website, offline forms are not available. The registered candidates will be issued IMU CET 2025 admit card to appear for the exam. Candidates can check here all the details of the IMU CET application form like how to apply, eligibility, fees, documents needed, and more.

Q:   What is the application date for IMU CET?

A:

The online IMU CET application form will be out in March 2025, tentatively. The official date for application form and other events will be announced by the Indian Martime University. Candidates can apply for IMU CET 2025 through Online mode only. The link is made available on IMU’s website. The IMU CET online application form consists of three portions:

  • Personal Details
  • Academic Details
  • Payment Details

Candidates have to fill in these three portions. Once the payment is successful, the candidate’s dashboard will appear, from which they can download the filled-in application.

Application Fee for Registration for BBA:

  • INR 200 for General /General-EWS/ OBC (NCL) candidates
  • INR 140 for SC / ST candidates.

For all other UG and PG Programme/ Research Programmes:

  • INR 1000 for General /General-EWS/ OBC (NCL) candidates
  • INR 700 for SC / ST candidates

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for IMUCET 2025

IMU CET eligibility for 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) – Residential

Criteria

Description

Educational qualification

  • 10+2/equivalent (PCM-Average: Minimum 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination).
  • Marital status – Unmarried.

Age Criteria

Maximum age: The reference date for the calculation of the age will be 01.08.2025.

  • For Males: General-25 years, OBC (NCL) - 28 years, SC/ST-30 years
  • For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL) - 30 years, SC/ST-32 years.

Relaxation

For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks. A relaxation of 5% in English marks will apply to candidates who are natives of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belong to their Scheduled Tribes and who & both of whose parents were born in those islands & belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.

Medical conditions

 

Physical Fitness: Candidates seeking admission to this Marine Engineering Programme must be medically fit including eyesight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended.

Eyesight:

  • There shall be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or of the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk of aggravation or recurrence.
  • Candidates must possess good binocular vision (Fusion faculty and full field of vision in both eyes). Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
  • Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara Test Chart. Distance Vision unaided 0.5*(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in the better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in the other eye.

 

Medical certificate requirement

At the time of admission, candidates will be required to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by doctors approved by the Directorate General of Shipping.

IMU CET eligibility 2025 for 1-Year DNS course leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science) – Residential

Note: Transgender are eligible for the B.Tech. (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) & B.Tech. (Naval Architecture and Ship Building) and they should meet the requisite eligibility criteria.

10+2/equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60%) with minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.

OR

B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years, with an average of not less than 55% of the marks in the final year.

OR

  • B.E./B.Tech Degree from IIT or from a college recognised by AICTE with an average of not less than 50% of the marks in the final year.
  • Marital status: Unmarried

Note: The candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th / Degree Examinations.

BE/BTech in Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture with at least 55% in aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Associate Member of Institution of Engineers Part A and B in Mechanical Engineering with at least 55% marks (by examination).

OR

MEO Class I Certificate of Competency Issued by Govt. of India

Note: Candidates with GATE Scores in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture are exempted from IMU’s CET, however, they will be considered only against the residuary seats, if any.

Step 1: Registration

  • Candidates have to visit the official website of IMU and look for the IMU CET registration link.
  • Click on the link and fill out the basic details like full name, contact number, and email ID.
  • Create a password of choice.

Step 2: Filling out the online form

  • Once the registration is over, fill out the online form.
  • Furnish the personal and academic details asked.

Step 3: Uploading scanned images

  • Candidates have to upload the scanned documents as per the specifications.
  • Scan the required documents and upload them in the online form correctly.

Step 4: Paying the application fee

  • Candidates have to pay the requisite fee.
  • The fee is to be submitted using the available online payment modes.

Step 5: Final submission

  • After the fee is paid, candidates can check the dashboard for printing the online form.
  • The online filled-in form must be downloaded for the candidates' reference.
  • Do not send the printout to IMU.
Important: The candidates who wish to apply based on CUET scores for UG (except BBA) are not required to register for IMU CET and should apply later during Spot Counselling registration for UG Programmes (except BBA).
