A:
{Source: M.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what we've gathered:

* Infrastructure: The university has a good infrastructure, with well-equipped laboratories, comfortable classrooms, and a decent library.
* Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. They guide students not just in academics but also for career growth and entrances like GATE or CSIR NET.
* Course Curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and the syllabus is designed well. However, some students felt that it could be more challenging.
* Examinations: Semester exams are considered moderate to difficult, but with good preparation, students can achieve good grades.
* Placement: While most students praised the placement record for B.Tech and MBA students, the situation was different for M.Sc. students. About 30% of students got placed, but mostly in low-paying jobs.
* Research Opportunities: Unfortunately, internships were not available in the M.Sc. program.
* Career Growth: Although the placement scenario wasn't ideal, students believed that the quality education and research opportunities prepared them well for further studies or careers.

In summary, while YMCA University has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and faculty, the M.Sc. programme seems to have limitations in terms of placement and research opportunities. There were very good placements before 2016, but now there are very few chances of placements.
Placements: Only 50% of students get placed in this college, and the average package shown to the parents during admissions is incorrect. The teachers are always changing, and there are very few permanent teachers. The faculty is not very cooperative.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average, but it feels more like a school because of the strictness. There are no game periods, and there is no games teacher. The food quality is average, and there are no medical facilities provided. When we approached to get medical services, no one from the medical team was present.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are very helpful as they provide proper notes and question banks before exams. However, some teachers do not explain the basics to us and just share the notes, telling us to read them on our own. But first, we need to understand the basics, and then we’ll be able to learn.

Decent placements, supportive faculty, good infrastructure.
Placements: Around 60-70% of students from my course (BCA Data Science, Batch 2024) were placed. The highest package was 10 LPA, the lowest was 3 LPA, and the average was around 5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro recruited from our batch. Approximately 40% of students secured internships in companies like Deloitte and Cognizant, primarily in roles like data analyst and software developer.
Infrastructure: The college has decent infrastructure, including Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, a well-equipped library, and modern labs for practical sessions. Hostel facilities are satisfactory, with clean rooms and decent food in the mess. Sports facilities are available but could be improved. Medical facilities are basic but functional.
Faculty: The faculty is knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to assist students with doubts and projects. However, some teaching methods could be more interactive and engaging. The curriculum is fairly well-structured and covers essential topics, helping students acquire basic industry-ready skills. While it is relevant to current trends, there is scope for updating it further to align with emerging technologies. Semester exams are moderately challenging, encouraging students to understand concepts thoroughly. The pass percentage is around 80%, indicating a balanced level of difficulty and preparation required.
Other: Yes, I would recommend this college for those looking for decent placements and good infrastructure, though some improvements in teaching and facilities are needed.

It is an okay college and the location is good for correspondence courses.
Placements: A very low percentile of students from our course get placements that are too far from here in Gurgaon or such so some opt not to go. The highest package is 5 lacs, and the lowest is 3 lacs. Internships are offered to about 60% of the students. HR is the most common role offered .
Infrastructure: On average, every necessary thing is present, from labs to seminar halls and canteens but again, everything, including the library, is very average. The medical facilities are also okay; they offer to take you to the nearest Amrita hospital but you are not given attendance when something like this happens. Sports like basketball, football, badminton and sports rooms are present, including carrom, table tennis and more. It is also sufficient—nothing special.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are qualified; they are also very experienced and kind. Some are because they know how hard college life is. Yes, most of the course curriculum is relevant, about 70–75%. It includes courses like Advanced Excel, which somehow makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are provided by the university so it is pretty tough and definitely not easy. The passing percentage is 35/100, which is very low but some people still fail because, again, the exams are not easy.
Other: I chose this course because it is easier than the rest. It teaches me more in depth about business. Improvement should revolve around practical knowledge, not bookish knowledge. Events are also average tents placed in the ground near the stage. Crowding is also okay, not bad, in my opinion. Fest was horrible this year but last year was okay.
