No, NIT Trichy does not provide direct admission for BTech. NIT Trichy BTech admission is entrance-based. The institute accepts admission to the BTech course through a valid score of JEE Main. Every aspirant needs to qualify for the exam in order to get admission. Selected candidates further need to take part in JoSAA counselling as well. There is no other procedure for admission.

The cutoff trend for BTech in Mechanical Engineering at NIT Trichy - National Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for BTech under the General category for all India quota was 10037. In 2022, it increased to 11032.
