Q:   Is NERIST as good as Arunachal University of Studies?

A:

Yes, NERIST is also very good and is one of the top most college in Arunachal. Its fee is also lesser than the Arunachal University of Studies. Also, it has been ranked 186 among the top NIRF-rated Engineering colleges in 2021. The institute currently has 11 departments of education in Science & engineering and 1 center for management studies to offer degree courses across the disciplines of engineering, technology, sciences, and management. Also, you will get so much internship and placement opportunites here. Companies like Mahindra, tata, oil, Vedanta, etc. visited the campus this year The average package is around 6 LPA which is not a bad average. Here, faculty members are very kind and helpful. They have been supportive all throughout the courses. We had lot of subjects and many of them are very good at their knowledge and skills required for technical expertise. We had practicals guided by them, which were very helpful in understanding the concepts we learn in theory classes so, overall it is good as Arunachal University of Studies.

I suggest you search for better colleges and keep it as the last option.
Placements: Placement attempts were not made here. Our college always makes excuses and blames the students. According to the college, the students are not good enough. However, the same students will get jobs on their own performance. All the high-profile jobs grabbed by alumni have been through off-campus placements. But our college shows wrong data that it has offered those jobs to just maintain its rank.
Infrastructure: Lab equipment is below average here, and there is no software. You will need permission to use anything. The internet is very fast, but there are useless restrictions on everything. There is a censored life. The hostel authorities are apt in torturing students. The cleanliness is very bad, and unhygienic food is served. If you say something about it, they will make a wrong case of indiscipline and disturb you with legal consequences.
Faculty: Except for some faculty members, none of the others is good. Some faculty members even don't know the fundamentals and are quite arrogant. However, lab staff members are good. The semester exams are good. Some faculty members have maintained the standard well. Only for them, the department is still thriving.
Other: The college used to be good, but good students have left the college. There are many politics at the administrative level. The administration is corrupted, so the functioning of the college is difficult.

I'm not satisfied because of placements.
Placements: A few years back, placements were good for the students of electronics and computer science departments in B.Tech programme but not for M.Tech students. Although we had good percentages, placements are too bad now. I did not see any M.Tech student get placed here. Earlier Wipro visited our campus, but now from 2 years, even they are not visiting our campus. The salary package offered is 3 to 6 LPA. Only 5% of students were offered internships from college. There is a placement cell, but I do not think they work properly. Still, I have not heard about any placements for M.Tech students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average. Wi-Fi facility is good. Construction of new classrooms is going on. The library is awesome as it was newly constructed. Medical facilities provided are not good. Sports and games are good. Labs are totally useless as all types of equipment are old and not sufficient. Canteen is closed for more than 6 months. Hostel rooms are good.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are excellent, and some of them are useless. Very few teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is average. They use blackboard method to teach us. Student to faculty ratio is poor. We get industry exposure, but it is not worthy. The course curriculum is very useful to prepare for several exams.
Other: Events and fest in the college are fantastic. Campus surroundings are very good. They do not any provide scholarships for M.Tech students. There are a lot of extracurricular activities in the college.

Great campus life that provides memories that last lifetime. If you work hard, it will pay out well.
Placements: Placements in the college were below average. A small fraction of the college gets placed, and more than half of the batch is unplaced. Most of the students opt for M.Tech or manual job search. But that does not mean students don't get placed. The college has placed its students in leading companies like SAP, Indian Oil, Power Grid and many other leading corporations around the country.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of college was not good. Hostels, bathrooms and washrooms were in bad conditions. Classrooms were good, but the walls in hostels and academic buildings were old and in bad conditions. The library has a good number of books and it was good back then, but now it has updated into state of the art facilities. Medical facilities are good. Games complex is not properly structured, and the playground is not trimmed throughout the year. Just a portion of the playground is trimmed during the sports meet. Wi-Fi facilities are excellent, and it is one of the best colleges in the country.
Faculty: Faculty members were average. The curriculum is diverse and structured nicely, and it is well-organised over three modules of base, diploma and degree. It doesn't matter which module the student starts with, the student will get along nicely and will not feel like missing something. The teachers are free enough to contact and consult during free time.
Other: Sonabyss is the annual cultural festival of the institute. Synergy is the annual sports fest of the university which lasts for 4 days continuously. Due to the geographical disadvantage and connectivity problem of the college, the placements get affected. The campus is a 500-acre green hub of flora and fauna which gives memories for life.
