Punjab University offers full-time MTech in 14 specialisations. The duration of the MTech programme is two years. PU MTech admission 2022 is based on PU-CET (PG), conducted by the university. Admission to MTech in Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Instrumentation is based on merit in the last qualifying examination.

Dissatisfied because of placements and guidance. Clean, healthy and safe environment.
Placements: There were zero placements for this course. No efforts were made for placements at T&Ps end for this course. Students in this course must go for internships during summer and winter breaks in companies such as Intel, synopsis, cadence, Stmicroelectronics, NXP, Xilinx etc.
Infrastructure: Hostel is fine, no AC but one can have cooler in the room by paying extra electricity charges which is very nominal. Food quality in mess and canteen is average but many good options are available within the campus. Good medical facilities, good sports and games facilities. Wi-Fi and library facilities are excellent.
Faculty: Teaching quality is above average but there's a huge gap in academics and the industry. The graduating student is not at all ready for the industry. No guidance is provided for where to apply, how to apply, when to apply. Lack of knowledge leads to missing out on opportunities. Have to take an additional course in VLSI domain which is worth 70-80k to become industry ready.
Other: Chose this course based on score preference given. Best part of this course is the in depth knowledge of VLSI. Industry based projects and internship opportunities would make it better. Lack of guidance by the academicians to approach for internships and to take up relevant projects. Events, fest, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, extra curricular activities are excellent.

Best after PEC in Chandigarh.
Placements: Placements are very good at B.Tech level with an average package of around 4-5 lacs, although there is negligible placements in ME. Training and placement cell of this college is very active although. Hope to see good campus placement for ME next year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is best here. As far as mechanical department is concerned, it is equipped with a lot of workshops from a simple lathe machine to a 3D printer. One has a lot of opportunities to work in research side. It also has a well-equipped library under the well known Panjab university library.
Faculty: UIET has the best faculty. All ME teachers are Ph.D. from well known colleges and institutions not only of India but also from The world. Course curriculum is student friendly. One has to score well in only one of the 2 MSTs so one can score well at PU meanwhile enjoying the college life as well.
Other: It hosts the annual cultural festival Goonj. Moreover, there are regular sports meet at PU. One has ample opportunities here not only to study but for the overall development.

UIET has always been good at creating intelligent minds to succeed in life.
Placements: The placements had been very good in college since past years. Good package has been provided to students every time starting from 3.5 lacs up to 12 lacs per annum. About 90% of students were placed last year during campus drive. The college has a placement cell to help and guide students at every step for placement drives. Many companies are invited each time to provide placements.
Infrastructure: The entire campus is the eco-friendly environment. The campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled and equipped to help the students search study material and do their work. The labs and classrooms are fully furnished. Good quality of food is provided to students in canteen which is open during whole college time.
Faculty: The well-educated and experienced faculty are present. The faculty and students share quite a friendly relationship which helps the students to think out of the box. They always boost students and helps them in every possible way they can and students to succeed in life.

The college is the best out of all.
Placements: The placements have a direct impact on college reputation as well as on new admissions. The college takes full responsibility for placing more and more number of students and perform its responsibility up to the mark. Many students got placed in many reputed companies such as Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Deloitte, Infosys, and many more. On an average package offered to students was about 4-5 lacs per annum. The students got hired for different roles in companies such as developer, tester. Training and placement cell do their best in the placement process.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite good. It offers almost all the facilities to the students. The labs and library are well-equipped, Wi-Fi facility is available to students not only on campus but also in the hostel for 24*7. Even canteen is also there on campus and provides good quality of food. The whole campus is well-managed.
Faculty: The faculty members are responsible for improving the whole academic environment of college. All the faculty members are well-qualified and experienced as well. The interaction between students and faculty members is very good. Each faculty help the students a lot in solving their problems. The teaching is done using modern technology such as the projector.

Nice and understanding faculty members.
Placements: The placements are good. Most of my classmates were placed in good companies. Almost 50 to 60 percent are placed and still working there. The companies like Infosys, Accenture, etc., visit the campus. The students were also placed in educational institutes like a Lovely Professional University, Chandigarh University, etc., during avsar placement drive. Many of them are pursuing higher education.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. We have Wi-Fi, lab, and classroom facility. The canteen food is also good, but we need more attention on south campus. More trees, playground, and park are there on the campus. The hostel rooms are good and nice to stay in the hostel. The mess food is also good, and cheap. Just need more playground, and another facility on the south campus as a north campus (14 sectors) are having in their colleges.
Faculty: The faculty was good in our tenure, and still, they are the best in terms of knowledge, qualification as well as helpful. Also, the faculty members love to learn new technologies. A problem-solving approach is used by the faculty members to teach students, and healthy environment is present.

It is a good college for students who want to do research.
Placements: I am a student in this department when I was pursuing B.E in chemical engineering, and I had a great experience here. Placements of our batch were excellent as more than 65% of the students got placed, while others were not interested in jobs. I had an inclination towards research, so I had made up my mind right from the time I was pursuing my B.E to pursue even M.E in this department. Students who got placed through campus placements were offered with an average salary package of 3.5 LPA. Companies offer both industrial and designing jobs, so students choose according to their own interest.
Infrastructure: The department has a good infrastructure. The college focuses a lot on the maintenance of labs as this department is the best known for research in various fields like polymer sciences thermodynamics etc. Wi-Fi facility is available to students, and sports and games are also encouraged. Various sports camps are held on the university campus where students participate regularly. The university owns its own swimming pool as well as a shooting range. Apart from that, there are separate courts for tennis and badminton etc. The university has excellent coaches to train the students, and a gymnasium also available here.
Faculty: Faculty members are very nice and helpful, and there is a good student-teacher interaction in the class. They always motivate students to speak up and discuss in the class to make concepts more clear. They are highly qualified as well as experienced. Industrial exposure is provided during summer training. The course curriculum has enough things to fulfil the needs of the industry.
Other: Every student must aim to get into Panjab University because of its recognition in the world. Associating your name with such an institution brings value to your resume. The university provides everything that students need. Student groups who lead or win elections take special care of the students. Various recreational trips are organised regularly, where you can enjoy your college life most.
