Q:   I got 79 percentile in JEE Mains and 66% in Class 12. Will I get admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur?

A:

Based on the information you've provided, your JEE Mains percentile of 79 is decent and could be a competitive score for admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur. However, your class 12 percentage of 66% might be slightly below the usual cutoff for some courses at the university. To increase your chances of admission, I recommend checking Sastra University's official website or contacting their admission department for the specific cutoff scores and eligibility criteria for the course you are interested in.

Sastra University is known for its competitive admission process, and the cutoff marks can vary each year. It's essential to have a clear understanding of the admission requirements and eligibility criteria to make an informed decision.

In case your JEE Mains percentile meets or exceeds the cutoff set by Sastra University for your desired course, you stand a good chance of getting admission. However, if the cutoff is higher, you may consider other options or explore different courses that align with your JEE Mains score and class 12 percentage.

Remember, admissions to universities can be competitive, and it's always a good idea to have backup options. There are many other reputable institutions that offer quality education in engineering and other fields. Research thoroughly, consider all available choices, and apply to multiple universities to increase your chances of getting accepted.

I wish you the best of luck with your admission process, and I hope you find the right university and course that aligns with your academic goals and aspirations!"

A good college with best campus life, a place to enjoy and learn.
Placements: If I were asked about placements in our college, I would likely say that your CG matters. Because the guys with more CGPA will be getting placed to their core jobs rather than getting placed in an anonymous job which is unknown to them. And I can certainly say that overall placements is good at SASTRA.
Infrastructure: As I am from mechanical school, I am having my classes in VKJ Vishwa Karma Joth which is fully occupied the departments like Mech, Aero, Digital Manufacturing, Mechatronics and some of the first year guys. The campus life is overall good. But when we talk about the hostel rooms were good but the food was not upto the expectation and not worth for money.
Faculty: While talking about the faculty members we have got an experienced or maybe well experienced staffs in some of the major courses but in some courses there are some faculty members who were unable to prove their skills or how efficient they are at their academic concepts like they could not deliver what they think.

Satisfied with the curriculum but dissatisfied with the college life due to backward rules.
Placements: The placements in sastra is one of the good things about the college, almost 80 to 90% of the students do get placed at an average of4-5 LPA. The problem here for aerospace engineering is that there are usually no to low core companies and the students get placed in tech companies. Internships are usually not offered and have to arranged by ourselves.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for aerospace engineering is above average, but the 2 starts are given because of the hostel. The college houses a subsonic and a super sonic wind tunnel, machinery related to aerospace structures, fluid dynamics and other accessories necessary for aerospace engineering. The hostel here is not at all upto the mark, the rules are extremely stringent and the quality of food is subpar. The hostel in time for boys is 9pm and for girls it is inhumanly 6:30 pm. The hostel has a Wi-Fi but don't expect blazing speeds.
Faculty: The faculty for aerospace are knowledgeable and are qualified in accomplished in there field. The teaching style and teaching techniques vary but most of them are geared towards industry oriented teaching along with making the concepts clear. The semester exams have a pass mark requirement of 50/100. Most students do pass easily as the internals do aid in getting that 50.
Other: The campus life isn't that bad, the campus hosts a variety of facilities in sports and entertainment. The college hosts the annual cultural fest called Kuruksastra and the annual tech fest called Daksh. Along with these two there are two sports fests one intra college fest called Feura and one inter college fest called Colloseum. There is a significant amount of anti co-ed in these fests by separating boys from girls, so this is one the biggest cons in developing of personalities.

Lab facilities should be improved. Other than that, really good in placements and coaching.
Placements: If you are coming to SASTRA, you will definitely get a placement. You get placed in top companies depending on your skills. But if you do not achieve that, then you get an assured job at TCS. It will definitely live up to your expectations; that is why I am happy to say that choosing SASTRA to get placed is a safe bet.
Infrastructure: My view is that the schools of biotechnology and mechanical engineering have very good facilities in terms of infrastructure availability and accessibility. There is also a hospital inside the campus. A 3 storied library is available, and Wi-Fi connection is available all over the campus.
Faculty: Regarding the faculty of SASTRA, I felt that most of them are really helpful. SASTRA has its own syllabus, and there will be a mentor for every 60 students. The mentor will take care of our academics and attendance. Industrial visit is available only for the civil engineering department.
Other: Kuruksastra is the main cultural fest of SASTRA. Technical events also happen in a grand manner like Daksh and Utsav. Sports events such as Carpediem, Fuera will also take place.

Sastra University allows admission on the basis of JEE Mains results. So you need a minimum of 100 - 120 marks in Mains. Apart from JEE Mains result theg also consider 12th results so you need to have a minimum of 75% to get eligible for this course.

For Sastra, there is no Cutoff and no minimum percentile required in JEE MAINS.

It is based on 12th percentage and JEE Main mark (SASTRA will calculate like this 12th percentage * 0.75+ JEE MAIN mark * 0.25)

Total- 165 marks.

Based on your score out of 165 they will alot a admisssion.
