Q:   Can I join SASTRA without JEE?

A:

Admission to all the BTech courses is subject to JEE Main scores and Class 12 scores(given equal weightage) for 50% of the seats and is subject to Class 12 scores for the remaining 50% of the seats. However, as per the official website, there is no fixed or specific cutoff to get a seat here. It depends on the students who score the highest marks. You can enjoy the infrastructure.
Placements: 85% of students were placed in my course. The highest package is 50,000 and the lowest package is 15,000. Tata, Wipro, etc., recruited 85% from Maiyyam, Tata, and Wipro. Manager, bank manager, etc., are some of the roles. My course faculty members ask me if I need placement or not. Our college provides pre-placement classes. Our classmates will also take some classes.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms are moderate. The library is big. The quality and facilities of the hostel are good. There are 9 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels. The food and mess are nice, tasty to eat. Sports and games are abundant. You should have a computer to connect to Wi-Fi. You can use Wi-Fi according to your needs.
Faculty: The teachers encourage you and provide ideas for your higher studies and other subjects. There are mentors for each student to clarify their doubts about career and higher studies. The course is aligned with current situations, so students can be placed in good companies. The semester exams will not be difficult if you have studied the previous question papers, which are available in the library. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose this course because I learned computer applications at school, and it was easy to study. You can learn more according to current situations. The management should reduce some unwanted subjects from the course. Our college conducts Daksh, Kurukshetra, and many more events. It is very fun to enjoy and has many sports events.

SASTRA University is far better than some of the lower NITs in India.
Placements: More than 90 percent of students who do not have any backlogs got placed with a company. The average package offered here was 8–9 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Bosch, and many other top companies. More than 75 percent of the students got an internship, and more than 95 percent of the students who got internships were placed with the same company. Top roles which were offered was web develops, data.
Infrastructure: Air conditioned labs, Wi-Fi classrooms were actually a major infrastructure facilities provided by sastra. Hostel facilities were also provided. Most of the time, the food will be tasty. Medical facilities are available inside the campus itself. The hostel is available both inside and outside for boys, and only inside for girls. The food that is provided in the mess seems to be okay for survival. The taste of the food is getting better these days. Sports, games, and a gym are available in the student activity center, which is open to all students.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful when we sought them out in private for guidance. Research paper publication is one of the most anticipated guidances provided by the professors in SASTR. The difficult rating of the SASTR semester exam question paper varies from 3.5 to 4 out of 5. Most of the question papers are set by the faculty members who teach the corresponding subject, and setting the question papers is tricky these days. The pass percentage varies from 70 to 50 out of 100, and most of the students pass with high internals. On the whole, hard work equals success.
Other: I chose this course because love coding and I am also interested in the internet of things and data Science. Here many clubs are available through which we can get our future bright in coding. Annual cultural fest is called as "kurukSastra", which is one of the most anticipated and expected fests of sastra.

Good education with low fees.
Placements: The college states that 90 percent of the students are getting placed during the placements. The highest package is 50 LPA and the lowest is 2 LPA, with the average being 6-7 LPA. Top recruits are TCS, CTS, QUALCOMM, WIPRO. 50% of the students are getting internships in the 4th year. I wanted to be a core ECE engineer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available only for laptops, and it is not available for mobile phones. There is a library with great resources, and many are benefiting from it. The food available at Sastra is pure veg, and non-veg is prohibited inside the campus. There are many grounds, and a hospital is available.
Faculty: All the teachers are Ph.D. holders with a minimum of 3 patents. They are very experienced. The curriculum is relevant to the course you are studying. The syllabus is common for all first years. Yes, it makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are tough, and they mostly have application-type questions.

College life at Sastra 2024.
Placements: Placement at Sastra is pretty good. About 40% of graduates get higher packages, like 10 to 12 LPA. However, there is a huge gap between college lectures and placements. Many MNCs from across India attend placements here, so if you are good at technical skills, you don't need to worry.
Infrastructure: Sastra has good infrastructure. There is a gym for boys and girls, a technology development center, a research center, a library, hostels, and more. There is Wi-Fi everywhere, and all classrooms have projectors. Every block has an elevator, water purification machines, and lab facilities.
Faculty: Sastra has three CIA exams, which are like internal tests. The best of the two highest scores is considered. Lab exams are based on the course and are worth 50 marks. The final semester exam is worth 50 marks. In the second year and beyond, students also have separate lab courses.

Placements: There are many students who placed every year. But this year there is a very less percentage of placements on campus. The average package is 6 LPA. 70-80% of students got internships from my course and there are companies like Infosys, TCS, Ninja, Capgemini, Comcast, etc.
Infrastructure: Compared to the main campus, this campus doesn't have any good infrastructure. There is a library in the college with limited seats. There is no hostel for Srinivasa Ramanjan Centre campus. There is a small canteen here with minimal items.
Faculty: The teachers are not highly qualified. But some of them are good. And knowledgeable. The teaching quality is okay. The semester and mid examinations were very difficult; they don't even give good marks. The faculty are very strict. The pass marks are 50 out of 100. Three will be 50-50 marks for CIAs.
