Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What is the average package offered at SHUATS?

A:

However, based on my research from multiple sources, the average package offered at SHUATS generally falls within the range of 3.5 LPA to 4.5 LPA. This means that on average, SHUATS graduates can expect to receive an annual salary in this range upon placement.

Here are some specific examples of average package estimates I found:

  1. Shiksha: They report an average package of 3.5 LPA for B.Tech graduates at SHUATS.
  2. Their estimate for the average package is also around 3.5 LPA.
  3. Student reviews: While student reviews offer anecdotal evidence, some mention achieving packages as high as 6 LPA, while others report receiving average offers of around 3 LPA.

Remember, these are just averages, and individual experiences may vary depending on the factors mentioned earlier. It's important to research the specific programme you're interested in and consider other factors like internships and skill development to get a more complete picture of your potential career trajectory after graduating from SHUATS.

Q:   Does SHUATS have good placements?

A:

SHUATS placements may vary depending on the specific programme you're considering for placements. Here's a breakdown:

SHUATS has a Directorate of Career Planning and Counseling (DCPC) that actively works with students on career development and placement opportunities. They organize workshops, mock interviews, and career counseling sessions to help students prepare for the job market.

Some sources report that around 75% of students get placed through on-campus placements. This can vary depending on the program, with some like Food Technology, Dairy Technology, and Agriculture having better placement rates than others.

Well-known companies like Nestle, ITC, and Parle Agro have been known to recruit from SHUATS.

Here's a summary of the pros and cons of pursuing an M.Sc. at SHUATS:

Pros:

* Well-designed curriculum: The university's curriculum is considered relevant and industry-oriented, making students "industry-ready".

* Infrastructure: SHUATS has a good infrastructure, including well-equipped labs, classrooms, and a library.
* Supportive atmosphere: Students praise the university's supportive atmosphere, with faculty members being approachable and helpful.

Cons:

* Placement concerns: Placements are not guaranteed, and some departments may struggle to place students.
* Hostel conditions: Hostel rooms may be small, with shared spaces and basic amenities.

It is a good college with average placements. You will experience the best greenery on campus.
Placements: In our batch, nearly 20 were placed in multinational companies. The highest salary package is up to 8 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. The top recruiters are Gyan, Amul, VNR seeds, Infosys, etc. About 35 students got internships at ICRISAT, IIPR, and various private companies related to the department.
Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped, and classrooms have good infrastructure. The university has a central library, and each specialisation has a separate library with good references. The central library now provides CAB abstracts too. The facilities of the hostel are fine. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is good, with reasonable prices.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and friendly. They are well qualified. They have good knowledge and good English proficiency. Exams are easy to a little tough, but we can write the exams with good practice. The college offers great books in the library, which are so helpful during exam time.
Other: The campus provides various cultural fests, sports meets, an NSS scheme, and many other extracurricular activities. I chose the course Genetics and Plant Breeding, which has good scope for a B.Sc. agriculture student who can work as a plant breeder.

The breeder has more opportunities as we check. 60% of students got internships in different companies. Even some of the students got internships in ICRISAT. Plant breeding, professors in the best colleges, agriculture scientists and many more roles are offered. This is college is ICAR accredited.
Infrastructure: Many facilities and infrastructure are available. Practical labs are available. I gained practical experience at farm field. A canteen is available for each department. A central library as well as department libraries are available. A sports fest is held every year. References are provided as per the syllabus, and the departmental library has the all books recommended for students.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and well-qualified with the highest degree, i.e., PhD. Semester exams are as per the schedule mentioned on the academic calendar. The pass percentage is 45%. The papers depend on the head of the department, and practicals are also conducted.
Other: This course has a huge scope in future. Plant breeder has such demand in the industry. You can gain more knowledge from this course and also gain practical knowledge. Many events, fests, and sports meets are conducted yearly.

It provides good faculty members and good placement opportunities.
Placements: I am currently studying, and I am undergoing placements now. There are companies yet to come. The starting salary package offered to us ranges between 5.4-7 LPA. Students got selected for research and internships on esteemed organisations like NRRI, IVRI, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Hostels are of old age with average sanitation. Food served in the mess is good. The library is well powered with a good number of books. Students have online access to many e-books through the college. Wi-Fi facility is available all throughout the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are dedicated and of good quality. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready. The curriculum followed here for our course is of ICAR. It is followed in all over India in all agricultural colleges.

Infrastructure: The university has 12 hostels on campus. There are five hostels for boys and seven for girls. The central library has more than 113947 of textbooks, reference books, etc. Sports facilities to play badminton, basketball, cricket, tennis, etc., are available for all students.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is good, but it does not make students ready for the industry. It is easy to score well by writing from textbooks. Teachers help students by providing notes.
