Yes, candidates are not required to appear for WBJEE exam to get admission to BTech. UEM does not consider WBJEE score for providing admission to the BTech course. However, candidates are shortlisted for BTech course based on IEMJEE score followed by a counselling round. Candidates who have passed Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 70% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in Class 12 are eligible to apply for BTech specialisations.  

The seat intake for a four-year BTech (CSE) course at UEM Kolkata is 960. The BTech CSE is divided among the CSE sub-specialisations, which are as follows:

UEM Kolkata offers various scholarships to meritorious candidates. The scholarships are offered based on merit, financial need, and other criteria. Students must qualify IEMJEE for admission to B.Tech, BCA and BBA. The university also accepts national or state-level entrance exams like CAT/ MAT/ JEMAT for MBA, WBJEE for B.Tech and WB JECA for MCA. For Ph.D. candidates must hold NET/ SET/ GATE scorecards for admission. GDPI may also be conducted for admission to a few courses. The university releases a merit list and calls the shortlisted candidates for counselling. After document verification, candidates need to pay a fee to confirm their seat in the university.

University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata accepts WBJEE scores for admission to its BE/BTech courses. The WBJEE cutoff 2024 was concluded after the round 3 seat allotment result, wherein the last-round cutoff ranged between 8796 and 68436 for the General All India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, the one that turned out to be the most desirable was Computer Science and Engineering. The first and last-round WBJEE cutoff 2024 for the same stood at 4146 and 8796, respectively. So, candidates preparing for University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata admission via WBJEE must aim to target a rank up to 68436 to secure a seat. However, this range is for the General AI quota, and the cutoff ranks vary for other categories and quotas. 

No, direct admission is not possible for UG level Engneering courses at UEM. To get admission to BTech at UEM Kolkata, candidates must appear for IEMJEE entrance exam, which is conducted by UEM. Students can appear for this exam in either online or offline mode. In order to get admission to UEM Kolkata BTech course, candidates must fulfil the minimim eligibility requirements for the course. The total tuition fee for BTech course ranges between INR 5.6 lakh - INR 5.9 lakh. Candidates who will qualify all the selection rounds for BTech admission will be required to pay the course to confirm their seat in the institute. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Candidates will also require to pay a registration fee to apply for admission.
