Yes, candidates are not required to appear for WBJEE exam to get admission to BTech. UEM does not consider WBJEE score for providing admission to the BTech course. However, candidates are shortlisted for BTech course based on IEMJEE score followed by a counselling round. Candidates who have passed Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 70% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in Class 12 are eligible to apply for BTech specialisations.  

The seat intake for a four-year BTech (CSE) course at UEM Kolkata is 960. The BTech CSE is divided among the CSE sub-specialisations, which are as follows:

No, direct admission is not possible for UG level Engneering courses at UEM. To get admission to BTech at UEM Kolkata, candidates must appear for IEMJEE entrance exam, which is conducted by UEM. Students can appear for this exam in either online or offline mode. Students must qualify IEMJEE for admission to B.Tech, BCA and BBA. The university also accepts national or state-level entrance exams like CAT/ MAT/ JEMAT for MBA, WBJEE for B.Tech and WB JECA for MCA. For Ph.D. candidates must hold NET/ SET/ GATE scorecards for admission. GDPI may also be conducted for admission to a few courses. The university releases a merit list and calls the shortlisted candidates for counselling. After document verification, candidates need to pay a fee to confirm their seat in the university.
