CTET Social Science Syllabus 2024: The CTET exam comprises two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6 to 8. Candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to appear for both papers. The Social Science subject is a part of the CTET Paper 2 syllabus. A total of 60 multiple choice questions (MCQs) are asked from the CTET Social Science in Paper 2. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam held every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The CTET 2024 exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates as Primary (Classes 1 to 5) or Elementary (Classes 6 to 8) teachers. The CTET exam 2024 is organised based on guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The CTET syllabus 2024 is prescribed by the CBSE after taking into consideration the NCTE guidelines.

CTET Exam Pattern 2024: Paper-Wise & Subject-Wise

As per the prescribed CTET exam pattern 2024, each paper is two and a half hours in duration. The total marks of both papers are 150. The CTET question paper comprises 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). CTET Paper 1 consists of five sections while Paper 2 has four sections. Q:   What is the syllabus for Paper 1 CTET?

A:

The CTET Paper-1 is for teaching posts in classes 1 to 5 in government and private schools. The syllabus for CTET Paper 1 consists of five sections. There are 30 questions, each worth one mark, in each section.

These sections are:

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy: The topics are child development, learning, and pedagogy.
  2. Language I and Language II sections: These two sections consist of questions about the pedagogy of language development.
  3. Mathematics: This section includes basic math such as geometry, the solids around us, shapes, spatial understanding, the Number System addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  4. Environmental Science: The basic questions on water, food, shelter, travel, etc. Are asked in this section.

CTET exam comprises five subjects in Paper 1 and four subjects in Paper 2. CTET Paper 1 subjects are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. CTET Syllabus 2024: Social Science (Paper 2)

Candidates who have decided to appear for the CTET Paper 2 exam should know the latest CTET syllabus 2024 for Social Science. Candidates should be well aware of the detailed CTET Social Science syllabus 2024 to know all the topics from which questions are asked in the exam. 

The CTET Social Science includes History, Civics and Geography. The questions are set to test the candidates’ comprehensive knowledge of these subjects. A:
