Chandigarh University Review.
Placements: There are around 5000 students who opted to take placements from the college in CSE, but out of them, according to January 2025, half of them have been placed. Most of them are in service-based companies, sales, and got offers from mass recruiters. Product-based companies are very few in number.
Infrastructure: The course is not well-structured, but classes have Wi-Fi, and the infrastructure is very brilliant. But for CSE, classes felt congested in summers, and the crowd is too much. Apart from the mentioned working area, the university has various food courts, libraries, and parks.
Faculty: The faculty is not much interested in students' development, and of course, exceptions are there. But the curriculum is much stricter than it used to be earlier. They don't allow the use of laptops during class. Exams are comparatively very easy, and you can clear them by studying one night before the exam.
Other: The university is very crowded; you will never see its campus empty any time of the day. Fests happen regularly with some good guests from Bollywood.

Like if you're a sincere student, you'll definitely get placement.
Placements: If you are sincere, you'll definitely get a good placement, but if you're an average student, then also you'll get an average placement of 5-6 LPA in companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, and many other mass recruiting companies. So if you want on-campus placement, you can join this university.
Infrastructure: Chandigarh University offers modern infrastructure with high-speed Wi-Fi, state-of-the-art labs, well-equipped classrooms, and a well-stocked library, creating an excellent academic environment. Hostels provide comfortable accommodation with various room options, and the mess serves hygienic, nutritious meals, complemented by a diverse canteen menu. The campus also boasts comprehensive medical facilities with a dedicated health center and emergency services. For recreation, students have access to well-maintained sports facilities, including grounds for various outdoor games, indoor sports, and a gymnasium, promoting overall well-being and a balanced lifestyle.
Faculty: The faculty at Chandigarh University is highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive, ensuring a strong foundation in their respective subjects. The teaching quality is commendable, with a focus on interactive learning and practical applications. The course curriculum is regularly updated to align with industry standards, making it relevant and effective in preparing students for the job market. Semester exams are moderately challenging, designed to test both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The university maintains a reasonable pass percentage, reflecting a balance between academic rigor and student support, helping most students successfully progress through their courses.

Low placements, underqualified teachers, and less value for money.
Placements: The situation with placements at the moment is dire. With too many students vying for limited opportunities, only 27% (approximately) of total students have been placed till now. Compounding the issue, some companies have blacklisted the institution altogether, making it more difficult for students to get placed. So far, a total of students have been placed. It is a worrying possibility since the loss of the companies would bring even more uncertainty to an already unstable environment.
Infrastructure: The institution has a strong foundation with good infrastructure, spacious classrooms, and ample labs. One of the main benefits is the composed and beautiful surroundings. Food options are plentiful, with numerous shops around campus. Still, there are drawbacks as well. The internet connectivity in labs is adequate, and the lab computers themselves require maintenance. Additionally, ongoing construction creates dust problems, and the large student population can lead to overcrowding and a feeling of constant rush. While the newly built libraries are impressive, they are cramped, have limited seating, and are in need of renovation. Unfortunately, the security guards seem to lack manners. Hostel life presents its own challenges. Rooms are typically shared by 3–4 students, though the boys' hostel appears to be in better condition than the girls'. The food quality is terrible; everything tastes the same and is repeated. Also, hostel curfews create unnecessary hardships, with girls having reasonably early curfews compared to the boys. There is no such thing as privacy. Finally, the wardens have a harsh attitude and are very rude.
Faculty: Despite a large number of faculty members, the quality of instruction varies greatly. While some professors are excellent, others seem underqualified, lacking subject expertise, and assigned subjects are outside their areas of study. The curriculum itself is somewhat average in quality, and students are overloaded with irrelevant subjects. Even BBA students, for example, are forced to study Python or some other coding languages. Exams, though not very difficult, come with their own set of problems. They adhere to the syllabus itself, but the semester feels too rushed, often compressing a 6-month semester into a 3.5–4-month term. Students are constantly bombarded with tests due to this intense schedule: MST 1, MST practical in a week, MST 2 a week or two later, and final practical and exams in just 2-3 weeks. Students barely have time to relax, engage in extracurricular activities, or even just breathe in between these tests because of this constant testing schedule. To top it all off, the course load is further burdened by unnecessary practical files, assignments, quizzes, MOOCs, VAC (Value Added Course), open electives, and mini projects alongside regular projects.
Other: Being a B.E. CSE student since 2020, I came in expecting a program heavy on practical application and less on theory, but the reality has been otherwise. The daily grind of 9:30 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. classes with a necessary 75% attendance is really exhausting. Many lectures lack inspiration, failing to arouse enthusiasm for the subject. Even lab classes, which ought to be filled with practical experience, leave us idly sitting for two whole hours. The strict 9:25 am GATE closure adds another layer of stress to our morning. However, there is one bright spot: the institution often hosts festivals and events that provide a welcome break from the academic routine, even if they come with their own set of experiences.

Chandigarh University's honest review.
Placements: If you will pass the criteria of placement, then you will definitely get placement. There is a criteria for getting selected for placement that is not a backlog in any subject and above 7.5 CGPA, then you can give a placement interview, and most of the students get selected.
Infrastructure: It's best in infrastructure and hostel mess food is also good. I have tried mess food several times and it feels like I'm having my home food. It's delicious and about infrastructure, no doubt it's the best in that field. You can see many aesthetic departments, and D6 block is the entire library and the library is provided in each and every block.
Faculty: Faculty is of a very helpful nature. HOD always listens to what students are demanding, and if by any chance any faculty are not good, we can file a complaint against them, and the department takes action against them and changes them in less time but all the faculty are good.
Other: Strict in case of attendance, discipline, timing and all.

Almost average college in north India with average placement.
Placements: Around 74 percent of students get placed here with the highest package of 54 lacs offered by Amazon, TCS, and Tata; the lowest package was 4 lacs; and the average was 6 lakhs. Around 10 percent of students get internships here from companies like JP Morgan, American Express, and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: The classes are big and well connected by Wi-Fi, but the labs are not so good with poor quality machines. The library is well maintained with all the books and newspapers; the hostels are the best as they have good mess food. The rooms are also neat and clean; and the medical facilities are available almost 24 hours a day. The sports facilities are also good.
Faculty: All the teachers are here are not so good. They have just a degree of Ph.D. from CU itself. They teach us from PPT. The course curriculum is relevant but does not make us industry-ready. The semester exams are not that difficult. They can easily be passed by just studying one hour before the exam. The pass percentage is 88 percent.
Other: I chose this because I wanted a B.Tech degree for my UPSC preparation. The campus is crowded, and almost every month events and festivals take place. And yes, they provide scholarships as well.
