Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of Daulat Ram College?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni]

Daulat Ram College provides a moderately busy campus life with a diverse student body from various states. The college has multiple sports facilities and a well-stocked library, and offers quality mess food. The dress code is flexible, and there are no language challenges on campus. The academic schedule is moderate, with around 5-15 lectures per week, and exams are held semesterly. The teaching methodology focuses on practical discussions and case studies, and there are designated teachers and student representatives for support. The college has a good security system with guards and CCTV cameras present everywhere, and outsiders can enter the campus without permission. Ragging is not tolerated, and the college has a strict policy against it.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of Daulat Ram College appears to be mixed. Some students have reported that the infrastructure is not so good, particularly in terms of the library and Wi-Fi connectivity. However, other students have praised the maintenance of laboratories, the cleanliness of the canteen and classrooms and the availability of sports facilities.

According to Review 1, the hostel infrastructure is active, but the library and classroom conditions are not satisfactory. Review 2 agrees that the library is one of the best among North campus colleges, but Wi-Fi connectivity is limited to certain areas. Review 3 highlights the cleanliness and maintenance of the canteen and classrooms, while Review 4 mentions that the campus has a green environment with a playground and cafeteria, but the student has not personally visited the campus due to the lockdown. Finally, Review 5 praises the college's provision of good Wi-Fi, RO water, clean rooms and occupied labs with all required apparatus, as well as a clean and huge canteen, a huge playground and hygienic food in the mess.

In summary, while there may be some areas where the infrastructure could improve, such as the library and Wi-Fi connectivity, the college seems to offer generally good facilities, including well-maintained laboratories, a clean and spacious canteen and ample sports facilities.

My college and my experience.
Placements: The placement cell in our college is very nice; they organize job fairs every year for the students of all programs, whether they are in arts or science, and all get placed according to the talent they have. But mostly 2nd, 3rd, and final-year students participate in this.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities for my course, which is life science, were nice. All the teachers are very cooperative and helpful in nature, and they help us learn the lab experiments and what precautions should be kept in mind while performing an experiment.
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative and knowledgeable; they always help students in every step of learning. While performing chemistry experiments, because I've got chemistry in my core, they always make us learn what precautions should be kept in mind while performing an experiment.
Other: I've chosen this course because it covers almost all important subjects that will help me further my education.

All about B.Sc. Life Science at DRC.
Placements: I am in the batch 2021-24 of B.Sc. Life Science. Generally, the students of LS prefer to go in research. Also, some join the pharmaceuticals and public policy space. The placement scenario is pretty decent. Most of the companies coming are from pharma.
Infrastructure: The hostel of the college is the best among all the colleges of the university and in the north campus which offer hostel facilities. The food is good, there are well furnished rooms. The college has a sports complex, a well-equipped library and an amazing auditorium.
Faculty: The teachers are really good and helpful. The classes are held regularly and the overall curriculum is engaging. There is a lot of focus on developing the research methodologies do that the coming time can become smooth for candidate.

All You Need To Know About DRC!
Placements: For a life sciences student, it is necessary to complete your studies, at least up to the master's. This not only fosters your educational background but also facilitates placement following post-graduation. The student can apply for a post as a teacher in schools after qualifying exams for the same. Many companies expand their internships to many colleges at DU, and if the student stays active and keeps a regular check of all messages posted on different WhatsApp groups, he/she can easily become an intern. Sometimes, the student will have to settle for an unpaid internship to receive a LOR (letter of recommendation). This letter facilitates your preference for future internships. Paying fees for internships is better if you aim to gain more experience in less time and include your skills and experience in your CV.
Infrastructure: The labs are well-structured, clean, and tidy. Being fully furnished with AC in each room, projectors, and all types of equipment, studying is interesting. The Zoology and Botany Labs have ample reserved species that make each lecture interesting. Looking at creatures you're taught about makes studying and researching about the organisms much better, and luckily, these facilities are kept in mind at Daulat Ram College. I didn't opt for living a hostel life because I reside in Delhi itself. But as per my discussion with my classmates, the hostels have decent infrastructure and good Wi-Fi facilities. Also, the meals and snacks served are top-notch. The canteen is average. The Amul and Nestle outlets are comparatively better. One can find the prices at the cafeteria pretty affordable. The drawback comes from the absence of specific courts for some sports. There's no basketball or volleyball court. Plus, the gym does not have well-working equipment. The area allotted for the sports ground is good.
Faculty: The teachers of the Life Sciences Department at Daulat Ram College are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Only a few teachers are helpful and cooperative. The students must be highly cooperative with each other. I'd suggest the students create an inter-college group comprising life sciences students from as many colleges at DU as possible. This significantly helped me through my second semester, as the teachers didn't share all my notes with the class. To excel in your semester exams, the student must have a thorough knowledge of their syllabus. A very useful tip is to go through the previous year's papers, as many questions are repeated every year. The paper level is average in DU. If the students keep the above point in mind and follow the same religiously, He/she can score well easily. The worst thing about exams is the time when they are conducted. The odd-semester exams are conducted in December and January, when the winter is at its peak, and even-semester during May and June, again peak summer. In addition to this, conducting exams in Sadbhavana Bhawan in the auditorium, where there are no fans and the student has to complete the paper while sitting far away from a pedestal fan, becomes very suffocating. Complete all of your assignments, reports, files, and projects and give all your tests on time. Perform well and score decent marks. This will help you attain a good CGPA. I have no information about the pass percentage, but scoring below 5 CGPA is not good.
Other: Though this course makes my schedule cumbersome, it has its benefits too. With Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry as its major domains, the course provides a plethora of choices to pursue a master's from. Every year, annual fests take place in all colleges at DU, and it is an enjoyable moment for all students.

Absolutely satisfied with faculty &staff members really good infrastructure and great experience .
Placements: Placements is good for honours and technical course but not for programme courses, & average package is offered by the companies and for non-tech course there are internships and workshop being organised by the college itself. Placement is good for B.Com students as there is a functional Placement cell which is working on students and trained them to ace the interview& get into best companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure Of college is really good like it has all the facilities ( Air conditioned labs, well working projectors, decent sitting arrangement, Wi-Fi working in some particular areas, spacious classrooms) and a huge sports complex for all the sports and physical Activities and a gym too for gym freaks. Hostel is also safe for girls, interior is pretty fine there, food is hygienic & tasty. Also there is greenery all around the campus which is like really pleasing including so many Instagram points.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable with Ph.D. degree ( almost every teacher) satisfied lectures given by teachers, they try to solve the queries from basic level raised by students, over all a interactive class, and a friendly behaviour of teachers (where required) exams are strictly Conducted and unfair means are strictly prohibited. Serious action is taken when get caught, semester exams level is moderate and can be scored well when you're focused so it's a good study environment in the college.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in research and scientific studies, studying Life Science Will provide you with a foundation of scientific knowledge and ways of exploring the world and provides so many aspects of life know about health care and stem cell research and genetic testing. Events get successfully organised by time, DRCis famous for its fest, campus surrounding is a great place to explore, college is equally actively Participating in extracurricular activities with studies. Overall it's a good environment of studies & others activity .

Review of Life Science at Daulat Ram College.
Placements: The placement cell at the college provides great opportunities for jobs and internships. The Life Science course doesn't offer such placement. Its main purpose is graduation and providing you with knowledge regarding the 3 subjects of chemistry, botany and zoology.
Infrastructure: Daulat Ram College is a part of DU, so the infrastructure is quite good, with fully ventilated classrooms, a huge library and labs with trained staff. The canteen is spacious and clean, with food available at low prices. We have outlets of Amul and Nescafe present inside the campus.
Faculty: Faculty are knowledgeable with years of experience. Semester exams are at a moderate level and the pass percentage is 98%. Teachers share PPT notes and assignments regularly, which helps you gather more information regarding this course. Hence, faculty members are quite good here.
Other: This course provides you with knowledge of 3 subjects so for me, it's above the Hons course.
