B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2019
Offered by Focus Institute of Science and Technology

1Placements1Infrastructure1Faculty1Crowd & Campus Life1Value for Money
Our college has poor placements and poor infrastructure.
Placements: None of the UG students got placements under AKTU. Students didn't have a good campus life. Students are joined here because of the salary packages offered by our college, but they failed to get placed. Four years of the course was completely wasted in this college.
Infrastructure: Our college organises a good library session, and they are arranged well under the guidance of faculty members. Classrooms are really good, but they do not have smart class arrangements. Labs are available for every department. But for electrical and mechanical students, machine lab sessions are organised through old secondhand machines.
Faculty: Teachers are not appointed based on their experience, and our college recruits newly passed out M.Tech students. Only the heads of the departments are experienced. The majority of the teachers only know the theory part and don't know technical things.
Other: Our college doesn't organise tech fest or any other extracurricular activity.

Placements are Poor, and the college is not worth for money.
Placements: When we joined college, the management promised 100% placements. Only one of us got placed, and no company came for placements. Our seniors batch was the first batch who got few placements. Placements of our seniors were not that good. After completing the course, companies reduced salary packages. Overall, the placements of our campus are the worst. Companies that came for first-year placement are foreign companies.
Infrastructure: Our electrical and electrics department have decent labs. There are more than enough equipment or machine for conducting the practical section. The negative part about the department instrument is that all are used machines. The campus has a proper and good library and classrooms. There are more than enough classrooms with proper lighting and electricity facilities. Hostel facilities provided by the campus are poor. The hostel is situated 7 km away from the campus, so students face difficulty to reach the campus on time. Management is providing college bus facilities.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are less experienced or freshers. After the 2nd year, there was a strike in college because of the lack of staff members. Most of the faculty members are M.Tech passed out with less experience, and the quality of teaching is below average. Most of the students rely on tuitions. The course curriculum is full of theory. It won't make students industry-ready as they only know the theory side. Every semester teachers keep on changing, which make it difficult for students to adapt.
Other: The campus provides enough opportunities in extracurricular and sports activities. There are arts day every year and inter-department sports event every semester. Students use these opportunities to showcase their talent.

Focus Institute of Science and Technology is the worst college ever.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course and hostel is very poor. There is no hostel facility at our college, and Wi-Fi facilities are not available. I have one of the worst experiences. However, some departments are good, but classrooms are not that good and are not well-furnished.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and very good, but management refused to pay enough salary to them. Some faculty members worked here without a salary for more than one year because the management didn't pay.
Other: Due to economic crises, events and fests conducted here are limited. Extracurricular activities and events are limited compared to other colleges. I think scholarships are not provided here. The fee varies with courses, and for some of the courses, students have to pay a huge amount. For other courses like mechanical and civil engineering, students have to pay the fee of Rs. 80,000 per year. The fee for electrical, computer science and electronics branch is Rs. 50,000 per year. The donation also varies with branches.

I am dissatisfied because of average faculty members in some subjects and no placements.
Placements: None of the students from our batch got placed. None of the companies visited our college for placements. Our college also got shut down due to problems in the management side. They were not ready to make the college better, and many students were suffered. Students were shifted to nearby colleges.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities were very good. Well-equipped labs and other facilities were available. The library was using Koha software. Food served in the canteen was average. Hostel facilities were not available within the campus, and it was provided outside of the campus. Classrooms were very good. Sports and games were conducted occasionally.
Faculty: Teaching faculty members were good for some subjects, but some were average. I don't think that the course curriculum makes students industry-ready from what they learn in college. Teachers were helpful and qualified but were not able to teach properly. Overall, the teaching quality was average.
Other: I opted for electrical and electronics engineering.

I am dissatisfied because of not good management of our college.
Placements: Our college is going to close due to the very low students enrolment. Hence campus placements were not held by our college. Grades obtained by most of the students were just average, so a very few students have been able to get placed. Most of us were able to attend internships in various companies.
Infrastructure: The main building and classrooms were good here. Labs were also nice. Our college does not provide Wi-Fi facility and hostel facility, so students had to find rooms on their own. Our college canteen was just average and not fancy. Sports and games were not given importance here.
Faculty: Initially, staff members were good here. But by the second year, most of the main staff members had resigned for their jobs because our college didn't pay salaries. From then onwards, there were Merry Go Round staff members. They would visit and leave after a few months. These staff members were just M.Tech passed out students without teaching experience.
Other: I was interested in electrical and electronics, so I have chosen this course. But if you are a studious student and can study for hours and can able to achieve good grades in your 12th and have excellent mathematical skills, then I suggest you to choose this course. There are 7-8 subjects which contain many problems, which I found extremely difficult. If you just want any degree in engineering, you are better to choose computer science engineering or civil engineering.
