Q:   How are B.Tech placements at Heritage Institute of Technology?

A:

Every year, approximately 80–90% of BTech CSE students get placed during Heritage Institute of Technology placements in 2022. The placement cell of the college is very active and developed. This is a significant and positive statistic, indicating a strong placement record for the institute. A high placement percentage suggests that a substantial majority of students were able to find suitable job opportunities before or upon graduation.

In 2022, the highest CTC offered was INR 44 LPA, and the average CTC was INR 13 LPA.

In 2023, almost 90% of students got placed in IT companies like TCS, Cognizant, and Infosys. The average salary package offered ranges from 6 LPA to 7 LPA and the highest package being 15 Lacs per annum. This average package is a notable benchmark, reflecting the competitive opportunities available to CSE graduates from the institute. The average package can vary based on factors such as individual student performance, the demand for skills in the job market, and the reputation of the recruiting companies.

HIT has an excellent placement record, with more than 500 students placed annually and the placement cell organizes orientation programs, mock interviews, and grooming sessions for students. Top companies like Google, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro participate in the recruitment process.

Q:   Which has better placement at Heritage Institute of Technology, B.Tech in CSE or B.Tech in ECE?

A:

When it comes to placements at Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT), both B.Tech in CSE and B.Tech in ECE have their own strengths and advantages, making it difficult to definitively say which one has "better" placements. The choice can depend on your individual interests, skills, and career aspirations.

B.Tech in CSE:

  • Higher Average Package: Generally speaking,  the average package for CSE graduates at HIT tends to be higher than that for ECE graduates. Recent reports suggest an average package of around INR 6-7 LPA for CSE,  compared to INR 5-6 LPA for ECE.
  • More Top Recruiters: IT giants like Infosys,  Wipro,  TCS,  and Google tend to actively recruit CSE graduates at HIT,  offering opportunities in software development,  cloud computing,  data analytics,  and other high-demand fields.
  • Wide Variety of Roles: With the booming IT sector,  CSE graduates have access to a diverse range of career paths beyond traditional software development,  including cybersecurity,  AI/ML,  and blockchain technology.

B.Tech in ECE:

  • Core Engineering Focus: If you enjoy the hands-on aspects of electronics and hardware,  ECE offers a more core engineering curriculum compared to CSE's software focus.
  • Growing Demand: With advancements in automation and smart devices,  the demand for skilled ECE graduates is on the rise. This opens doors to exciting opportunities in robotics,  telecommunications,  VLSI design,  and embedded systems.
  • Specialist Roles: Beyond IT companies,  leading engineering firms like Tata Advanced Systems and other electronics manufacturers actively recruit ECE graduates,  offering lucrative careers in specific technology domains.

Additional factors to consider:

  • Your Interest: Ultimately,  choosing between CSE and ECE should be based on your genuine interest and aptitude in either field. You'll be dedicating years to the chosen field,  so passion is crucial.
  • Future Career Goals: Do you envision yourself coding and building software solutions in the IT world,  or are you drawn to the more physical aspects of designing and developing electronic hardware?  Aligning your goals with the strengths of each programme is key.
  • Research Industry Trends: Stay updated on current and future trends in both IT and Electronics sectors. This can help you understand the potential growth and job opportunities in each field.

Conclusion:

Neither CSE nor ECE is inherently "better" in terms of placements at HIT. Both offer promising career prospects with unique advantages. Evaluating your personal interests, desired career path, and industry trends will help you make the most informed decision. Consider attending college open houses and speaking to alumni from both programs to gain deeper insights before choosing your B.Tech path at HIT.

Heritage Institute of Technology review.
Placements: When it comes to placements, good companies come to campus and offer good packages. In my department, core companies like Tata Motors come, and many other companies like TCS, Wipro, etc., also come. The alumni network provides a lot of help with placements, and good paid internships are also available.
Infrastructure: The labs are well equipped and well maintained. The library has centralized air conditioning, and both the library and the canteen have wifi. The mess provides good food, and the canteen is very clean and hygienic.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and very helpful. They help us in every way, every time. The course is relevant, and the syllabus is more or less similar to the competitive exam. Semester exams are based on the class syllabus, so if we follow the class, we'll do well on the exams. About 95% of the students pass.
Other: They accept scholarships like SVMCM. Fest doesn't take place here and the campus is very big and crowded.

Affordable and valuable college, HERITAGE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.
Placements: Above 80% of students are placed from our depth of electrical engineering. The highest package was 12 LPA. Average 6.6 LPA. Top companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, etc. Approximately 50% of students got internships from our college. And above 30% are completing their internships off-campus.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good for girls and boys. Also, a hostel is available off-campus. Labs are also good, and lab assistants are so humble and helpful. And on campus, there are three canteens, and food quality is also good. But the price is high. Sports and games are also conducted by the students of the college.
Faculty: Teachers all completed their master's course, and they are all helpful. Teaching qualities are so good and also better than in any college. They have a lot of smart classes, like the projector, etc. This is an autonomous college, so questions are settled by the teachers of the college and the moderator also.
Other: Basically, electrical engineering has a lot of scope in the government side or in IT or core companies.

Satisfied college with the good placements, good infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: Our college offers practicals on engineering drawing and many others. Clubs offer courses as well, and mostly all the courses of our college have 100% placements in the batch. The highest salary package offered is around 12 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 5 to 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are BKT Tyres, Infosys, Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: There is a very peaceful and eco-friendly nature inside the campus with security. There are two big grounds for playing football and cricket as well and one basketball court and a gym. The food quality and quantity of our canteen are way better than any 3-star restaurant. The infrastructure of our campus is more than a 4-star hotel. The sports club offers every outdoor and indoor game, and there is a games club where you can find both mobile and PC games playing and earning credit points.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and the teaching quality is good. The difficulty level in semester exams is average. Teachers are very helpful in doubt clearing as well as problem-solving, and they provide notes which are far more helpful than any other college. There is a moderate level of questions in the semester examination.
Other: Heritage provides one of the best campuses in Kolkata. Football, cricket, tennis, basketball, etc., are conducted. Grounds are perhaps one of the best. Lab facilities are good. As far as I know, college doesn't provide hostel facilities for boys. If they probably provide there are a limited number of seats available and are provided based on distance. Girls can avail the hostel facilities provided to them. Seats will be allotted as per distance as there is a limited number of seats available. Two fests are celebrated here one is technical and one is cultural named dakshh and eclesia.

One of the best private engineering colleges in West Bengal.
Placements: Students from our branches go for Tech placements as it is low for core branches. Around 75% students gets placed with an average package of 3.5-4 LPA. Most students study for GATE after this course. From the past years, GATE results have been outstanding and improving by each passing year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fully modernized. Labs are updated with Wi-Fi facilities. Quality is more than satisfactory in case of canteen. Even the prices are quite good as compared to market. There is also a separate building for medical facilities. No hostel facility for boys.
Faculty: Till now, I have appeared for three semester exams and some mid-sem exams. And definitely going to say that you need to prepare thoroughly. Professors are very helpful if you are keen to get helped. They also help us for group discussions. Something like value added subject becomes unwanted.
Other: My subject interest forced me for the choice. Lab equipments are good, but can be expected to better. Corona has impacted social life inside campus but hope everything goes back to normal.

Review of Heritage Institute Of Technology.
Placements: Around 78% of the students are placed this year from Heritage Institute Of Technology. The highest package offered was 10 LPA, the lowest package was 4 LPA, and the average package was 6.5 LPA. It was Philip's. 61% of students got internships from WBSETCL. Overall, it is a good college.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are awesome. There are 3 libraries in this college, and they have ACs and all-time free Wi-Fi. AC classrooms, AC hostels, clean and clear canteen, 5 grounds, and a 5-floor building for indoor games are available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, and many of them are PhD holders from Jadavpur University. Teachers are good. They behave like local guardians with us. They have good knowledge, and their teaching quality is excellent. Overall, they are the best teachers.
Other: I love electrical engineering, so I chose it.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I join Heritage Institute of Technology directly?

A:

Whether you can directly join Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) depends on what you mean by "directly." Here are the different ways of joining HIT:

Regular Admissions:

  • No direct admissions: Unfortunately,  HIT doesn't offer direct admissions for any B.Tech program. You need to go through the regular admission process,  which involves:
    • Qualifying in either WBJEE or JEE Main exams.
    • Meeting the minimum cut-off score for your desired program.
    • Participating in the counselling process and securing a seat based on your rank and programme choices.

Other Admission Options:

  • Lateral Entry: If you've completed a Diploma in engineering,  you can apply for lateral entry to the second year of a B.Tech programme at HIT. Admission is based on a separate entrance exam conducted by WBJEE.
  • Management Quota: Some seats in each B.Tech programme are reserved under the Management Quota. While not "direct" in the strict sense,  this might offer an alternative route for admission if you meet the eligibility criteria and pay the required fees.

Important Points:

  • The Management Quota seats are limited and admission isn't guaranteed. Merit and other criteria set by the institute determine selection.
  • Regardless of the quota you apply under,  fulfilling the program's eligibility criteria (e.g.,  minimum percentage in qualifying exams) remains mandatory.

Recommendations:

  • Check the official HIT website or contact the admissions office for the latest information on B.Tech admission procedures and specific eligibility requirements for different options.
  • Focus on preparing for WBJEE or JEE Main if aiming for regular admission through merit.
  • Explore the Management Quota option only if the regular admission process doesn't work out and ensure you meet the set criteria.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   How many students can do B.Tech at Heritage Institute of Technology?

A:

The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme has a duration of four years and follows specific admission criteria:

1. Eligibility:

  • Candidates need to have completed their H.S. (10+2) examination from the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, they should have qualified for the joint entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.

2. Entrance Examinations:

  • Prospective students need to qualify for either the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEE) or the JEE (Main) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The candidates should be recommended by the WBJEE Board.

3. Seat Allocation:

  • 80% of the seats are reserved for qualified WBJEE candidates.
  • 10% of the seats are allocated to qualified JEE (main) candidates.
  • An additional 10% of seats are reserved under the Management Quota for candidates with valid rank cards for WBJEE or JEE (Main).

4. Lateral Entry:

  • In the second year, there is provision for an additional intake of 10% of the approved intake.
  • This is specifically for Diploma holders and B.Sc. degree holders who qualify through the Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) conducted by the WBJEE Board. Candidates have to score an aggregate of 45% in the three compulsory subjects in the 10+2 to apply for the WBJEE 2024 exam.
