IIT Bhilai offers a two-year M.Tech course across six specialisations. These are Computer Science & Engineering, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Vehicle Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics. Admission to all the M.Tech courses is through GATE followed by COAP counselling.

For admission to IIT Bhilai MTech course, students are admitted through a valid GATE score. As per the selection process, candidates must pass graduation with BTech from a recognised board. Further, candidates need to appear for GATE entrance exams and get a qualifying score to get shortlisted for the course. Later on, the final seat allotment is done through COAP Counselling session. Students who are graduated from IIT are exempted from the GATE entrance score requirement.

Note: For MTech, the qualifying candidates have to further apply for COAP and then apply on the official website of IIT Bhilai to proceed to confirm their admission.

After getting a PG degree in MTech, students can become Electronics and Communication Engineer, Researcher, Production Engineer, etc. Candidates with a M.Tech degree can easily get a job in almost all the sectors in India. To apply for M.Tech course at IIT Bhilai, students need to pay the application fee for GATE. The amount to be paid is INR 850 for females and reserved category students and INR 1,700 for other candidates per paper. The application fees with late fee is INR 1,350 for females and reserved category students and INR 2,200 for other candidates.

There is no such provision for getting direct admission to any of the IITs including IIT Bhilai.
