Q:   Does Jesus and Mary College accept CUET score?

A:

As of my last update in January 2022, Jesus and Mary College (JMC) in New Delhi, India, is affiliated with the University of Delhi. At that time, the University of Delhi primarily admitted students based on merit lists derived from board examination scores (such as CBSE or other relevant boards), rather than through entrance exams like the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).

However, educational policies and admission procedures can change over time, so I would recommend checking the official website of Jesus and Mary College or the University of Delhi for the most up-to-date information regarding their admission process and acceptance of the CUET score.

Q:   Can students join Jesus and Mary College directly without any entrance exam?

A:

As last update in January 2022, admission policies can vary from year to year and may be subject to change. Jesus and Mary College (JMC), like many other colleges in India, typically requires students to undergo an entrance examination or meet certain eligibility criteria for admission into its undergraduate programs. These entrance exams could be conducted at the national level, like the Common Entrance Test (CET) or university-level exams conducted by the University of Delhi.

However, colleges may have provisions for direct admission under certain circumstances such as reserved seats for specific categories, sports quota, or merit-based admissions. It's best to check the latest admission guidelines provided by Jesus and Mary College or the University of Delhi to confirm the current admission process and eligibility criteria. You can visit Shiksha's website for more information.

Q:   Are admissions at Jesus and Mary College entrance-based or merit-based?

A:

Jesus and Mary College (JMC), located in New Delhi, India follows enterance-based admissions. The candidate's 12th score is also taken into consideration. The eligibility criteria for most of the courses is a candidate must have cleared 12th with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant stream from a recognized board.

After that candidates have to apply for CUET exams conducted by the college. Admission to the courses is based on these CUET exams only.

Good placement & really good infrastructure. Satisfied with all the facilities.
Placements: My course offers a full fledged internship in its 4 th year as it is teaching education programme so primary class and middle school internship are attached with the programme. Around 85% of the students get the job in private schools after an interview. There are many schools which are in contact with the college like prestige convent, queen mary school. All the roles are in private school as a teacher of either PRT or TGT. The package is of 2 LPA - 6 LPA vary with the grades in which teacher is alloted.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure jmc is very good. Wi-Fi and classroom are the aspects which is well facilitated. Library is provided with lots of books of many genres. Canteen's food is also good or not bad. Also there is a huge ground where many sports are done like badminton football, basketball and so many. One mark is deducted because hostel facility is not there.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified with having Ph.D. Degree not just in jmc but in maximum du colleges. Our curriculum is decided by central authority of teacher education. As I mentioned that the students will definitely became eligible for industry ready. This course is professional and is difficult as well. 85-90%was successfully pass this year.
Other: Montage is the famous fest held in jmc each year in feb month. Crowd is decent with lots of opportunity for you to network better and studious crowd I would say. If I talk about course that is professional needs your full focus. Teaching was my favourite and that's why I choose. But this course offers you ample opportunity to became not just teacher but work in any field related to school be it curriculum designing or work in children literature etc.

Our college has an excellent campus, supportive faculty, good placements, and the best college.
Placements: B.El.Ed. is a professional course. Our seniors are currently going on their internships. However, internships aren't paid, but later on, it is very much possible that students get placements in government schools as teachers. Most of the students got placed with median salary packages. We have many great alumni including Shimla Dixit and some other powerful leaders too.
Infrastructure: Jesus and Mary College has all the basic facilities available on campus which include a library, multipurpose hall, sports ground, medical facilities, and more. The whole campus is connected to Wi-Fi. However, since the hostel is not on campus, students from far away need to rent PGs and private spaces to stay in.
Faculty: Faculty members for BEL. Ed were the best as we are the batch that attended online classes the whole year and had to appear for offline classes. We got complete moral support and help from our teachers. They are available for us and help us prepare. This is a professional course for teaching at the elementary level. B.El.Ed. includes a lot of practicum and information on how we can handle children and help them focus in a classroom environment. BEL. Ed doesn't have the same calendar as the other courses but we have yearly exams. Most of our seniors got placed in good schools and a maximum of them passed out with a good percentage.
Other: I chose BEL. Ed because of my parents and I didn't think that it was a very good course at first, but slowly my views are changing as days pass by. I'm feeling much more confident now. Events and functions are very energetic in our college and students participate with complete enthusiasm to motivate participants so we enjoy every bit of every day on our campus.

It provides good campus and infrastructure.
Placements: It had 3-4 schools that came for the campus placements. There were schools like Pathways and Prakriti that came for placements. All the schools were either Cambridge or IB schools, mostly for primary teacher roles with a base salary of 39,000 per month. The placements percentage were relatively low in 2020 which can also be due to the pandemic.
Infrastructure: The college provides a very well-equipped 3-floor library. It provides Wi-Fi throughout the campus, with a spacious common room, canteen. There were sports facilities like football, tennis, basketball courts. Most of the classrooms were projectors or smart boards. The college does not had a hostel facility, most of the outstation students lived in PGs nearby.
Faculty: BEL Ed course was designed rigorously and thus the curriculum that was followed very apt for it. The faculty members were qualified and from the education field itself, apart from classes, there were also tution sessions to help students and had one-to-one interactions. BEL. Ed course exams were held annually the pass percentage for which was 70% for the first year and more than 90% for the following 3 years.

It is the best college in terms of everything in university of Delhi.
Placements: Particularly in our course, the placement percentage is something around 60-70%. The top companies recruiting are Byju's, Vedantu, Coursera, etc with mostly the job profile of content creator or teacher. Many students also consider freelancing too by their tuition centers.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure of our college is too good. It is always clean and one of the biggest colleges in the university comprising of all the necessary facilities like Wi-Fi, smart classes, well-maintained library, computer labs, hygienic canteen, etc.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly knowledgeable as well as qualified with a minimum requirement of a master's or Ph.D. degree to get the role. They are very helpful in all cases and ready to solve any doubt along with interactive sessions.
Other: I want to pursue my career in teaching, so I had to choose this course. I will recommend it to everyone else out there.

Best teacher training course.
Placements: The placements from college were not really much, only around 3 to 4 schools came. Around 4-5 students were placed through campus placement, but other got decent jobs through walk-ins. The course is good and you get decent paying jobs after 4 years of college.
Infrastructure: The classrooms, labs, computer lab, library are all well furnished and very nice. The infrastructure of the college is very good and spacious. The canteen us nice but a but costly. There are none hostel facilities available for the college students.
Faculty: The teaching at JMC is nice and the professors are very knowledgeable and qualified. The course curriculum is really good if you want to become a teacher, it is the best course you can enroll yourself in. You would like it in JMC in this course and would explore much.
