Is B.E./B.Tech at Kingston Engineering College worth the investment?

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's a summary of what they had to say:

Placement Record: While the college claims to have a decent placement record, the reality is that only around 45% of students get placed. The highest salary package offered is around 12 LPA, while the average salary range is between 5-6 LPA.

Top Recruiters: Companies like TCS, Zoho, and Tech Mahindra visit the campus for placements, although the majority of students get placed in IT firms.

Internship Opportunities: Fewer students get internships, and these opportunities may not always be related to their core field.

Infrastructure and Facilities: The college has good infrastructure, including well-maintained labs, a library, and hostels. However, Wi-Fi is only available in limited areas, and mobile phones are not allowed on campus.

Teaching Quality: Some students praised the teaching quality, saying that teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. Others found the teaching quality inconsistent, with some teachers being more effective than others.

Curriculum Relevance: Many students felt that the course curriculum could be improved, making students more industry-ready. Some departments reported a gap between theory and practice.

In conclusion, while Kingston Engineering College has some positive aspects, such as a relatively good infrastructure and placement record, the overall experience seems to be mixed. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully before investing in the program.

Here are some key takeaways:

* Placement rates are not exceptional (around 45%)
* Limited internship opportunities exist
* Infrastructure and facilities are generally good
* Teaching quality varies among faculty members
* Curriculum relevance could be improved

Great place to study but can't enjoy your college days.
Placements: 100 percentage of students got placed in our batch because there was a great demand for freshers post COVID. The highest package is around 5 lacs per annum and the lowest package is 2.5 lacs per annum. My batch students got placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, Emphasis, Intellect arena, Zoho etc. 40% of students got internship opportunities. Roles like software developer, technical support, system engineer etc are offered to students.
Infrastructure: Mobile phones are not allowed inside the campus. Students get a locker where they can keep their belongings and mobile phones. With no mobile phones, there is no Wi-Fi connection for students use. Labs are okay with sufficient number of computers and equipment. The infrastructure is great with classes having projectors. The library has internet facility.
Faculty: The teachers were friendly, helpful, and highly qualified. They are knowledgeable but the way of teaching of some teachers was excellent. The course is relevant and separate training is provided to prepare students for placement. Personally I faced a bit of difficulty to clear maths exams but everything else was easy.
Other: Celebration and events will be less. There are lots of internal assessments exams conducted.

Review of Kingston Engineering College.
Placements: About 80% of the students from our course got placed during my tenure. The highest salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. Vamsoft was the topmost recruitment company for our college. A software developer is the highest role offered. The lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA. Almost 90% of the students got internships during our tenure.
Infrastructure: I stayed in the boy's hostel where the quality of the food served was at top-notch. They really provided great food and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Wi-Fi facility was not available because sometimes mobile phones were not allowed to carry by the students. Boys and girls have separate hostels, and they are separated with a great distance. Rules are also followed in girls hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members here are nice at their profession, and their way of teaching was very good. Students were allowed to ask doubts at any time, and they clarify them easily. It was good, so there are no issues with staff members. Even they conduct the test at regular intervals.
Other: I did a CSE course at our college. I have chosen this course because it was good for the future.

The review of Kingston Engineering College.
Placements: The placements are okay, and not bad, but this time, due to software collapsed, not much companies are interested in coming to college for drives, but last year, the placements were good. I hope, next year, the placements opportunities will be good. The college is trying to bring many companies for drives, but only a few of them will get their call letter from the company.
Infrastructure: It has good infrastructure but only in one big building. Every department comes in the same building. The laboratory for the mechanical and civil engineering students are separated. Other labs will be in the college building, and the library is not good. It's average, and the hostel facilities are good, and the food is average.
Faculty: The faculty members are good, and they will teach us well. They will try their maximum while teaching. They will try their maximum extent to pass every student, and the courses here are limited.
Other: There will be no events, fests, and programs. This college is only for studying and writing exams, and you cannot enjoy in any way in this college because there will be no cultural programs.

Satisfied with faculty and good placements. Dissatisfied with the infrastructure.
Placements: During the third year, we have been eligible to attend the on-campus and old campus. The placement for the senior batch was 56%, and for our batch, it was 85%. The highest pay was Rs. 22,000 per month, the lowest pay was Rs. 8,000 per month. HGS, Infotech, TVS, Airtel etc., visited the campus. There is a placement cell. If we approach them, they will surely guide us on right way. They sent us to many colleges for off-campus, for that we have to pay 4500 as the fee. In that off-campus so many students are placed in many top MNC's.
Infrastructure: We are having separate buildings for each department. We are having all types of labs. We had a proper playground for playing cricket or football. We have shuttle & basketball court. We were having a seperate hostel for boys & girls. I rate 4/5 for the quality of the canteen, mess and labs. The hostel rooms are newly built. There are no issues during college days with the infrastructure.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful in making or creating new things. Not all are qualified as much and knowledgeable. But they teach us something about engineering. Smart classrooms and practical classes are provided to the students. The student and faculty ratio 30:1. Ee went to Industrial visit, but it is average.
Other: Every year all departments conduct symposium in that special talents, and extracurricular activities are organised. The crowd is more than 3,000. We will get government scholarships. There will be special prizes for top scorers. NSS and sports facilities are available for the students.

Strict rules, unskilled faculty, poor facilities, and minimal placements: a college to avoid.
Placements: The worst placements with very low packages, like 15k/month. Only a few, not more than 7 people, will get a good package of 6 LPA only if you adjust and cooperate with the placement manager. When you are trying for off-campus, in most of the hiring websites, you can find this college unlisted and yet leaving you close those opportunities.
Infrastructure: The college seems to be placed in a good location with ambient scenery and great for photoshoots. Labs are the worst with no relevant equipment maintained properly. You can see the broken equipment. The food they offer inside campus makes you realize you made a blunder.
Faculty: To be frank, skillless faculty is there. The teaching quality is the worst, and you can gain the skill of mugging up, as even the teachers do the same. If you seek to learn something, it's better to avoid this college at any cost. You will have daily exams in the morning regardless of any days, and if you fail in that, you have to stay in the evening after the college and pass that exam writing again. They expect you to mug up and pass, as the teaching quality is not at all good. If you answer something different and even correct, you'll be marked as wrong as they expect the answers only on books that they have suggested to you.
Other: You cannot use your mobile device inside the campus, as it will be collected outside near the front gate before letting you inside. If they catch you, your phones will not be given to you again until you complete the college. Coming to Culturals, the worst ever in my experience. My school had better cultural events than this. You'll be writing your exam in the morning and attending your classes, and then in the midst of noon and evening, the Culturals start and end in 4-5 hours maximum, and you'll be going home at 7 (phones are not allowed even in Culturals). Since the college started, there have hardly been 3 cultural events that happened over the years (for almost 20 years since the college opened, I'm not sure). Sports, forget about sports if you are joining here. There will be physical trainers who have no work (best for people seeking jobs as physical trainers to get a salary without any work). The ground will be clear during admission season, and once it gets over, you can SEE the ground not maintained and lots of tall grass growing on it, covering the ground completely due to poor maintenance. Strict for everyone, which includes speaking with the next gender, dressing, etc. The library has old collections of books and is not maintained well. Labs are just for sake; you can compare them with your school labs and can find the difference, resulting in 0.
