How college life looks like.
Placements: Almost 70% students get placed this year. The highest package is 1.23cr. The average package is 8 Lacs. The median package is 13 Lacs. Top recruiting companies came with their massive offers, like JP Morgan and McKinsey, and other big four companies also came with top roles offered in their course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is too good, and faculty members are supportive and easily available for your doubts in concepts or career-related goals, etc. Wi-Fi is available across the whole campus, with a study-related environment. Well-designed classrooms and labs are there. Medical and sports facilities are awesome.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are well-qualified and they do their job properly with smartness. The curriculum was not properly relevant for getting jobs in industrial, teaching, or non-teaching areas. It is moderate to give all the answers to the questions. If you get 41% in each subject, you will pass.
Other: I chose this course just because of my rank in JEE, and it is a core course of engineering. The course structure in semesters, fests, and events are too good here.

NSUT Mechanical in One Shot.
Placements: So, I am pursuing mechanical engineering from NSUT. According to previous year trends, I can tell you that around 70% of students get placed in our branch. The average package is around 10 LPA. In 2024, the highest package offered was 24 LPA and the lowest was 3 LPA. Many companies like Hero, Reliance Industries Limited, and GAIL come to our college to recruit students from our branch.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure provided by our college for our course are pretty good. Wi-Fi is available all across the campus of our college. Proper machines are there for us to understand subjects like electronics or electrical. The library of our college has got all the books needed for our course. Hostel facilities provided by our college are pretty decent as far as hostels go. I would say the same about mess food, but the sports facilities provided by our college are actually very good. Every year, teams from our college go to different colleges to compete in various sports like volleyball, football, cricket, badminton, and many other sports. This year, teams from our college went to IIT BHU to compete in these sports.
Faculty: The faculty of our college is pretty good. They are very helpful, friendly, and skilled at what they teach. There are always exceptions, but most of them are pretty good. The curriculum is honestly outdated, just like in any other college in India. You can't be industry-ready just by getting the degree; you still have to put a lot of effort into getting internships and jobs on your own. But one thing is for sure: you will get opportunities from this college; you just have to be ready for them. Semester exams are not that difficult; you just have to put a little effort in to get decent marks.
Other: I chose to do mechanical engineering because I have been interested in the mechanical part of machinery my whole life. The best branch is not necessarily the one that gets you the highest package; the best branch is the one you are interested in. What I like about my course is that it is very logical, and everywhere you can see the mechanical engineering working. There are still things about my course that I would change. The first one is that the 75% attendance criteria should be removed because, due to this restriction, students are not able to develop personally, which eventually affects their job prospects. Two main fests take place in our college: the first is MOKSHA, which happens around March and is the main fest at NSUT and one of the biggest fests in Delhi. The second is Rezonanz, which happens in October. Scholarships are available for financially weaker students and those who perform well in their studies.

NSUT: Engineering relevant in 2024?
Placements: Almost 50-60% students get placed in my branch. The highest package offered is 20 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA and the average package offered is 8 LPA. Getting Internship in mechanical branch is not easy at all. You need to maintain 8+ CGPA to get an internship. 2-3% students get internships. Top companies are Tata motors, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is just okay. Buildings look very old and don’t justify the fees charged. The Labs for our branch are the worst. Wi-Fi connectivity is good overall. The college library is decent. The classrooms are very nice up to 2nd year but after that we will get a normal school type classroom. Food in the mess is above average and the canteen is just average.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable but they don't have good teaching skills. The teaching quality is not good at all. They just come in the class for just formality. I am in the beginning of my 2nd year and till now I don't think the students are industry ready, but in the 2nd year, the college teaches us good skills in the labs. Semester exams are just moderate level, we need to score 4 CGPA to pass a subject.

Everything is good except the strictness in attendance. The best in infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 80% were placed. The highest was 36 LPA in tech, and in core, it was maybe 16 LPA. The average for mechanical is 11 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. ONGC, Mahindra—you can either get placed in tech, which is difficult but offers a high package, or in core, where the average is 11 LPA, or in non-tech, which also offers some good packages like around 20 LPA.
Infrastructure: All the facilities are here in the college, like Wi-Fi, labs, equipment, and the library is pretty big and fully AC. Classrooms are also AC, but maybe in later years, the AC classrooms aren’t allotted anymore. All the sports facilities are awesome, and there is a student activity center with a gym, TT, and many indoor sports and games. The mess is average, and the medical center is also there.
Faculty: The teachers are okay, meaning they are of a mixed kind. Some teachers are very good, treat you like a bro or sis, or even call you son and give you notes to study from. But some just come, do the lecture, and go. The semester exams are difficult but not that much like JEE. The course curriculum is old.
Other: I chose the mechanical branch because it was the best one I was getting. The course is decent. I would say it enables a lot of opportunities like tech, non-tech, and core placements. The fests are very good, like Moksha fest, which is one of the best in Delhi. Other events keep happening too. It’s never too dull in college; every time some event is happening except exam time. The connectivity is superb, walking distance from the metro, and scholarships are also available but difficult to opt for. The 75% attendance criteria are very strict.

Review of a newcomer from NSUT.
Placements: The percentage of students placed in NSUT mechanical is around 70% and there are a lot of students who get placement in tech companies. They got the highest package of around INR 35 LPA and the lowest package is around INR 5 LPA. Many companies came to recruit such as Tata, Google, Microsoft, and many more.
Infrastructure: The quality of the hostel is average and the food served there is bad according to taste. There is Wi-Fi service all over the hostel and all over the campus so no need to worry about the internet. The classrooms are advanced with full-on bright lights and a smartboard for better understanding. All seats are top level just like the theatre with each seat having a power board to charge phones and laptops.
Faculty: Some courses are relevant, but some courses are not relevant in this day and age. This college needs to shift more towards practical learning rather than theoretical learning. Semester exams are repeated but some faculty are not up to the mark like in just practical classes the teacher doesn't even know how to take measurements means they never taught us we have to learn how to do it.
Other: The campus is very enjoyable as it is very big with green big trees everywhere in every corner. There are monkeys and cats on the campus. Lots of fests are organised.
