Review of NIT Jamshedpur - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Roughly 95% of students got placed and more than 20 students got summer internships. The highest salary package offered is 83 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. However, the base pay in 83 LPA is 23 LPA. There are plenty of companies offering more than 20 LPA in base pay to final-year students. The stipend for summer interns varies between Rs. 40,000 per month - Rs. 1,04,000 per month. But most of them got a stipend of Rs. 40,000 per month. Around 5-6 students got a stipend of above Rs. 1,00,000 per month.
Infrastructure: We have air-conditioned labs with LAN ports available for every group of 5-6 students in those labs. The library is also air-conditioned, but the librarian sometimes won't turn on the air conditioner. She thinks that there is no need for it. The library is good for studying with good Wi-Fi connectivity. In hostels, we have a LAN port in every room. Only 75% of them are working. Its speed is 100 Mbps. The mess food is normal but we do get chicken 4 times a week and chicken biryani on Sunday afternoons. There are basketball or volleyball courts in every hostel. There is an institutional health center for medical facilities.
Faculty: The course curriculum gives a basic idea about every topic you should know about if you're planning to go in core ECE, but of very little to no use if you're planning to go for Dev/SDE roles. We only have one course in the CSE department which I feel should be more. Semester exams vary from depth to depth. For ECE, it's a bit tough but one can score above 7.5 CGPA if he/she studies properly before exams. In each subject, more than 100 students pass out of 120 in the end-semester exams. Faculty members are well-qualified. All of them have Ph.D. degrees from IITs and are good in their respective subjects.

If you are just inclined towards decent placement, this would be a good college.
Placements: Only placements are available here. Till the end of the year, it will go around 90% placements in the CSE course. Placements are very good in ECE. Placements in electrical and other courses are decent. Students can expect a salary package of 6 LPA - 7 LPA if they are average among their branchmates, so they have to take care of it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very poor. NIT Jamshedpur has an open campus. There is a busy road surrounded by running vehicles. I hate this thing. They are constructing some hostels and playgrounds. The development process is in progress. The Internet facility is also very poor. In some rooms, the internet is available but many rooms do not have it.
Faculty: Exams are conducted every 2 months which include mid-semester and end-semester. Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, but students didn't study and got poor marks. Questions are asked from the past year only. The difficulty level is easy to moderate.
Other: There is no college life in our college. The campus is small. There is nothing in our college.

All About NIT Jamshedpur by a 2nd year student.
Placements: Placements are pretty decent here. The average package offered for this course was 25LPA in the previous year with the highest of 83 LPA. Top Recruiters were Atlassian, Amazon etc. 30% students got internships in Computer Science department in the above companies. The roles offered in Computer Science are that of software engineer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent. The main lecture hall is awesome with all the facilities like Wi-Fi, projector, big classrooms and everything else. The hostels are nice with decent buildings. In this college, you get a single room from 2nd year onwards and a double sharing room in the first year.
Faculty: The faculty is similar to the other colleges. They don't care to teach, neither are the students interested in learning because the course structure is totally outdated and not useful. Their way of teaching is also horrible. The semester exams are not really tough, you can easily pass them with 1 week of efforts getting good grades.

Faculty members are good. Placements are good, but one has to compromise with infrastructure.
Placements: The batch size of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering for placements is 120, and last year, we achieved 100% placement for all students. Top recruiters included Vedanta, ABG, and BlackRock. The highest salary package offered is 17 LPA, and both the median and average salary package offered is 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very good with air conditioning, and a projector. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Medical facilities are also good. There is a dispensary for medical issues, and if the issue is not resolved then we have to go to the hospital. The amount invested in the hospital is refunded by the college.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive and helpful. They also give advice on what to do next in the future to get placed. They also help us with projects, and if we have any business ideas then we can go to the respected teacher, and they will guide us, which is truly valuable.
Other: If one is placement-oriented, then the NIT Jamshedpur is best.

Teachers are not satisfactory.
Placements: There are different placements in department branches and courses, but overall placement is 80% and above. In the Physics Department, the highest salary package is 10 LPA and the lowest salary package is 5 LPA. Companies like Allen, Unacademy, PW, Aakash, etc., are among the recruiters. In edtech companies, there is almost zero percent internship, but a summer internship program is held for various Institutes of Physics, allowing students to go there and complete their internships in Physics, teaching, or data analysis.
Infrastructure: NIT Jamshedpur classrooms are spacious, well-maintained, and well-equipped. The entire campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. Labs are located in the old building, but all lab equipment is available. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned and have Wi-Fi. The library is excellent, with all necessary facilities. Hostels are the best I have seen in any top-ranked college. The building is in great condition, and every student has their room. The food quality is also good, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options served. The college canteen is reliable and offers good food. Every student has medical insurance worth 5 lakhs. There is a small clinic for minor problems, which is free of charge. For major issues, students are taken to the best hospital in the city, and all expenses are reimbursed. There are numerous sports events throughout the year. Different types of sports are played in the college, and a competitive league called Urja, similar to the Olympics, is held every year.
Faculty: All teachers are very qualified, but I can't say every teacher is knowledgeable. Only three teachers have sufficient knowledge of their subject, and rest are just a burden on the students. If you are going to be admission to this NIT, please do some research before making a decision. The teaching faculty is not good. The course curriculum is also not ideal. As a Physics student, I feel there should be a programming language included, but they don't have enough skilled faculty to teach it. The difficulty of the exam is moderate. Students can pass easily if they just follow the notes provided by the teachers. A 35% score is required to pass the examination.
Other: I chose Physics because I like this subject, but in this institute, students may feel like they made a big mistake. However, don’t panic. If students want to achieve something, focus on self-learning. I hope there will be good and smart teachers in the future because, after two years, no knowledgeable professors will remain as most are retiring. Only arrogant and overconfident teachers will be left. There is no scholarship offered. The campus is open, and anyone can enter without permission. Surroundings have nothing except villages, giving you the feeling of living in one. A cultural fest is held once every year.

Satisfied with the campus life having decent placements and good higher education.
Placements: Placements are quite decent for M.Sc. students. Generally, the companies invited are that of coaching institutes which may be a startup or a recognised institution. Overall, the average package of a selected candidate is around 7-8 LPA. It is also a decent college if you want to go for higher education.
Infrastructure: Hostel food was the worst, it won't be good in taste, if you are a North Indian, you will have to surrender to the food quality. The best thing was that you get allotted a single room in the hostel, but hygiene is not maintained in the rooms as well as in the washrooms. Infrastructure of our course is decent, they don't take much interest in it.
Faculty: It is not difficult to pass the exams of the semesters. The questions are made from within the syllabus. Faculty of the course is decent and not very good. If you want to pass the exams, it can be done by studying a night before the exams. Some of the teachers are good in nature while the rest take everything for granted.
