NIT, Jamshedpur- Should I join or not?
Placements: Last year, around 95% of students were placed in the Mechanical Engineering course. Though I do not have a particular idea about the highest or the lowest package, the median was about 9 LPA. The companies that were recruiting were JSL, Accenture, ICICI, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, L&T, etc. The roles offered were data analyst, manager, and teaching roles, etc.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are quite well-designed, with AC and Wi-Fi facilities provided. The library also has similar facilities. The labs are a bit old, with some equipment not working, but the knowledgeable faculty members are quite interested in teaching the students about everything that is required for the subject. The hostel facilities are okay. From the 2nd year onwards, we get allotted a single-occupancy room with LAN and Wi-Fi facilities provided. The only downside is that if anything doesn't function, one can assume it may be fixed after a long period of time. The food quality is okay, with the quality slightly degrading over the period of a semester. The sports facilities are good; enthusiasts can play as per their wishes.
Faculty: The faculty are quite knowledgeable and have deep insight into what they are teaching. Some professors are enthusiastic, while some are laid-back, though this does not detract from their deep knowledge. Some of the subjects are not quite relevant, but the course is also acquiring new subjects like AI/ML and robotics, etc., to make the course as updated as possible. The semester exams are moderately tough, with students being able to pass if they have proper ideas and have studied the subject thoroughly.

Review of NIT Jamshedpur - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: 95% of students were placed in my batch last year. 16 lakh was the highest, 6 lakh was the lowest package offered and 8 lakh was the average package . Tata Steel and JSW are the top recruiters. About 30% of students got internships in Tata Steel and JSW mainly. Managing director, office head, HR, etc. are the top posts offered in my course.
Infrastructure: We have a very great academic facility, having big, well-furnished ac rooms with stage podiums and projectors. Wifi is all over the campus. We have different labs with machining facilities for each department. I got a very good 2-story library with reference library rooms and study rooms, and with it got a well-sized hostel room with enough facilities. Mess food has variety and tastes really good. There are different clubs and festivals for sports and extra activities, including creativity and social.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified IITians or NITians. The academics of my college are really strong. The curriculum is too good and makes the student well mannered for corporate life. Semester exams are moderately tough and 35 marks out of 100 is the passing marks in each subject.
Other: The mechanical department has 115 students. The best thing about the course is practical knowledge; we have a variety of labs.

Campus life and facilities are not so good but Placements are quite Satisfactory.
Placements: The high placement percentage here is a plus point. In the last year, 2022, the overall placement rate was around 95 percent or above. Specifically, in my branch, which is Mechanical Engineering, it stood at 100 percent. The highest package from mechanical was 22 LPA, while the lowest was 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities here are quite okay. The Wi-Fi and other internet connections are not up to the mark. The classrooms are excellent because they are located in a new academic building, whereas the library is old. The mess food is not satisfactory; we often find insects in our food, which is horrible. The canteens here are not as cost-friendly as expected from a government institute.
Faculty: Teachers are very well qualified here but not as proficient in teaching, which is broadly the situation in nearly every government institution, including even IITs. The curriculum is quite vast, making it not very easy to achieve a good CGPA here.
Other: The best things about this course are its placement percentage and curriculum, which I find very interesting. Hostel facilities and sports equipment and facilities can be improved a lot.

Good placements but college life is not that good.
Placements: The number of students placed in my course was more than 95 percent of the total strength. The highest package offered was 20 LPA, and the average package was in the range of 8-10 LPA. Top recruiters for my course were Tata Steel, JSW and others. Internships were a little less due to the ongoing recession.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are highly maintained with centralized air conditioning and smart projectors. Labs for courses like mechanical are not that good but are below a decent level in terms of infrastructure. Sports facilities are of decent level ground for cricket, hockey, and table tennis are also present here. An emergency ambulance is present here.
Faculty: For our course, the professors are strict and due to strict marking, sometimes the grades you are getting will be a little less as compared to the other branches. Relative marking is not present so it is a matter of concern. The course curriculum is just like other college courses and based on basic mechanical engineering. Semester exams depend upon your professors how the exams are really made but the difficulty is above average. Almost everyone gets passed.

NIT Jamshedpur :- college review .
Placements: As I am from the mechanical branch and the placements are quite good in core branches compared to other colleges, if you are thinking of joining the core branch sector, NIT Jamshedpur will be the best option. If you have a better option, go for that. The average package is approximately 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: In the name of infrastructure, we have the DJLHC (Diamond Jubilee Lecture Hall Complex), and all other infrastructure that are generally present in all other colleges. Additionally, each hostel has a night canteen and many more facilities. In the 1st year, all students are allocated shared rooms.
Faculty: All the teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. However, only a few professors truly embody the title 'professor' due to their passionate teaching styles. Semester exams are challenging for some subjects but not all. If you complete all given assignments and understand what has been taught in class, then you are ready to go :-).
