It is not up to the level as we expected.
Placements: More than 90% of students are placed in my branch. The highest package is 18 LPA and the average package is approximately 7 LPA. The lowest package is 5 LPA in our branch. In CSE, the highest package is 80 LPA and the average package is 25 LPA. The placement percentage of the CSE branch in our college is above 95%.
Infrastructure: Our academic building is very good; it is newly built. Our campus has fully and completely enabled AC in all classrooms. Hostel facilities are also good and mess food is average. The entire campus and hostel are Wi-Fi enabled; we can use it anytime, and there is unlimited internet from the Wi-Fi.
Faculty: All the teachers in our college have done Ph.D. from prestigious colleges like IIT and NITs in their own specific subject. The semester exam is not very difficult if you study a little bit every day; then it becomes easy. Basically, in our college, there is a great system: if you get a grade above 'P' or anything, you pass the exam; if you get a grade 'F', you fail.
Other: I chose civil engineering in this college because I got into it through JoSAA and CSAB counseling. Our civil branch has a branch fest named Vidhan. Also, there is a technical fest in our college called Ojas. The cultural fest in our college is Culfest.

Teachers are well-qualified. Placements are better than other NITs. Campus life is good.
Placements: First of all, I am a civil engineering student in the NIT Jamshedpur 2027 batch. In 2024, 95 students registered, out of which 85 got placed. The highest package was 14.4 LPA, and the average package was 8.08 LPA, with the median being 6.50 LPA. Some of the major recruiting companies are L&T, ZS, JISCO, and Bank of India for the assistant manager post. In the 3rd year, 4-5 students get internships, but in the 4th year, students apply for different companies for internships, and most of them get placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really good, and the classrooms are awesome, with every class having air-conditioned rooms. Hostels are really good, and every boy student gets a single room from the 2nd year so that they can utilize their time. Mess food is good, with chicken and biryani served four times a week. Hostels are equipped with Wi-Fi and LAN in every corner. The playgrounds are average.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. Almost everyone is Ph.D. qualified and involved in research activities. One can pass the semester exams by paying attention in class, as only what the teacher teaches comes in the exam. However, this teaching doesn't make you industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course because I want to start my construction company. Core knowledge is really needed to be good in civil. Fests and events are normal. Scholarships are really the best thing I found good in this college. The campus is really big.

Satisfied with College and Good Faculty.
Placements: Placements are good. There are a number of companies which recruit students from this college in order to give good future to their Students to their Companies, such as TCS, Accenture, Cognizant etc. The highest package is 7 LPA and the lowest package is 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was almost Satisfied. The Classrooms, toilets, campus, Overall are Properly located with Proper paint. Classroom are all filled with proper benches and desks. There is excellent library facilities and proper Rooms are allocated for AV and Presentations.
Faculty: Faculty are well educated and experienced. The are sufficient lectures alloted for every subject. Very well experienced lectures are recruited for important subjects. The Teachers are Teaching in understanding way.

Underrated NIT which needs more attention.
Placements: The placement stats of this college are very good compared to the top NITs. Almost 95% of the students get placed in every branch. The highest package was 82 Lacs per annum and the average package was 12 Lacs per annum, which is considered very good. Many companies visit every year and almost all the students got internships in many companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities are very good, and campus life is very good. All the classrooms have fully automatic AC and Wi-Fi. The hostel is also very good with Wi-Fi, but it is not available everywhere. The mess food is okay, and the campus is nice when it comes to fests and co-curricular activities.
Faculty: Faculty members are nice when it comes to the old professors, but the new ones are somehow underqualified. However, they are all very supportive, and teaching quality is good. The curriculum is relevant for the core branches, but it is less sufficient for the coding branches. Semester exams are hard enough but not that hard, so you can get good marks if you study regularly.
Other: Basically, I got civil engineering in this college, and it was not my decision, but it was my rank that decided my branch. This course is good for people who seek government jobs and for people who think creatively and work smartly if they like creative things. There are many events and fests in this college. There are three major events: the technical fest Ojas, the sports fest Urja, and the cultural fest. Scholarships are also available for students, but they can only avail one scholarship from the college.

Nice college and really good mess.
Placements: The percentage of students placed in our college is 37%. The highest package offered is 12 lakhs per annum, and the lowest package is 1.4 lakhs per annum in our course. The companies are DFMS, PWC, TLC, and more. Companies have campus selection. The roles are planning and design.
Infrastructure: The facilities include Wi-Fi on campus, amazing infrastructure with nice blocks, and spacious rooms. The hostel is good and has the best food in the mess and canteen. Sports are conducted, and games like indoor and outdoor are held during fests in our college, along with medical facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful in teaching. They are qualified with master's and higher degrees. The course is relevant and incorporates the latest technology. The semester exams are challenging to pass. The pass rate for semester exams in our course is 74%. They teach well in an understandable way to help students score good marks.

Students also asked

Q:   Is M.Sc. at NIT Jamshedpur a good choice?

A:
{Source: M.Sc. students & alumni}

Here's a summary of the pros and cons of pursuing M.Sc. at NIT Jamshedpur:

Pros:

* Excellent faculty: Faculty members are helpful, and their teaching quality is good. Most professors hold a Post-Doc degree in their respective subjects and are well-qualified.
* Research-oriented curriculum: The course design focuses on preparing students for higher studies (Ph.D.) and research, making it ideal for those interested in pursuing advanced degrees.
* Good infrastructure: The campus offers modern facilities such as air-conditioned classrooms, libraries with Wi-Fi, and single-occupancy hostels with amenities like lifts, Wi-Fi, and furniture.
* Decent placements: Although the placement record might not be exceptional, students receive decent offers from companies like EdTech, Physics Wallah, and others, with average packages ranging from INR6-12 Lacs per annum.
* Festivals and extracurricular activities: The college hosts various festivals and has multiple societies for extracurricular activities, providing opportunities for students to develop their interests outside academics.

Cons:

* Limited industry connections: As mentioned by several students, the college receives mostly educational background companies, and industrial background companies rarely visit the campus.
* No placements in Chemistry department: Unfortunately, the college doesn't seem to focus on recruitment in the Chemistry department, resulting in limited placement opportunities for students in this field.
* High competition: With over 90% of students getting placed from the college, competition for limited slots can be intense.
* Average hostel food: Students reported that the hostel food was not great, especially for North Indians who had to adapt to the local cuisine.

In conclusion, while NIT Jamshedpur's M.Sc. programme has its strengths, such as excellent faculty and infrastructure, it may not be the best fit for everyone due to limitations in industry connections and placements. However, for those interested in pursuing higher studies or research, it could be a suitable option.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
