NIT Meghalaya BTech programme isn’t ranked internationally. However the BTech programmehas been ranked under National Institutional Ranking Framework, NIRF. NIRF is an approved by the MHRD and was launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29^th of September 2015. The NIRF has ranked NIT Meghalaya BTech programme 72 among top engineering colleges in India.

NIT Meghalya offers a pretty decent placement for the offered courses. NIT Meghalaya concluded the 2023 placement session with 199 job offers. Admission to NIT Meghalaya BTech programme is entirely based on JEE Main exam. Based on the JEE Main exams score candidates are provided admission to BTech programme in NIT Meghalaya. Also candidates have to eligible for the BTech course  with twelve years of school education with PCM/ PBM with minimum of 75 % aggregate and ofcourse a valid score in JEE Main exam.

NIT Meghalaya offers a four year duration programme in Bachelor of Technology. It is regular programme for class 12 passed out students. NIT Meghalaya admission to the BTech programme is based on JEE Main scores followed by JoSAA counselling. NIT Meghalaya provides five specialisations for the BTech programme, which include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Admission to the BTech programme is only possible when candidates pass the eligibility criteria.

Eligibilility criteria: Class 12 in PCM stream from a recognised University with minimum 75 %

Selectio criteria: A valid score from the JEE Main + JoSAA Counselling.

For admission in B.Tech mechanical engineering you have to clear JEE. The cuttoff varies as per the year in the year 22 batch they got at 95 even (general) if you are from categories like OBC/sc/st  it vary even up to 90/87/85. As in the same pattern, the cuttoff for female candidate is different.

Admission requirements can vary from year to year and depend on various factors like students appering inJEEand no of seats avilable in collages. Few other factors like candidates droping from the college.

NIT Meghalaya JEE Main Round 6 cutoff for Computer Science Engineering is 19175 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in NIT Meghalaya. 

NIT Meghalaya offers a four-year BTech course at the UG level across five specialisations. The cutoff trend for B.Tech at NIT Meghalaya has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 18501. In 2023, it increased to 19175. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from
24759 to 6137 for OBC 68411 to 3133 for SC 640 to 1025 for ST 2843 to 3077 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For JEE Main Round 6 cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 16663 and closing rank was 19175 for the general category candidates under All India quota. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 25776 and 34378. Admission to Computer Science Engineering in NIT Meghalaya is based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main entrance exam.
